Installed FFT/Wolff Springs- no change in trigger pull
Unobtanium replied to 12508's topic in Benelli
Rounds down range. Also take everything apart and lube anything that slides or pivots during trigger pull. If you have a polymer trigger group, I bet it has a ton of **** in it. The one I took apart was full of plastic shavings etc. -
Vang would not jug choke benelli barrels because of the chrome lining and the thinness of the m1 barrels. Porting a shotgun is of very minor if any benefit due to the low pressure round. It just creates more noise, flash, and hot Gass to disrupt anything placed over it (like a body part, etc)

Here is the action spring you should be running. This is the only action spring made for this weapon, and it is the only one I will recommend, and this is the only source for it that has it in stock right now: https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/1439350 Here are the FCG springs you should be running, unless you wish to buy the WOLFF springs from FFT, which are also good to go. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/1439180B https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/1439080A https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/1439100

Anyone buy one? What barrel is used?
-
Just curious, but does anyone with 10k+ rounds or so have pictures of the upper and lower sides of the rails the carrier rides on? I am very curious how those surfaces do over time, as a result of the carrier being propelled backwards by pistons to the skids vs. a non-offset method like in the ID Benelli guns, where no off-axis forces are transmitted, but rather, it is kept in line with the bore.

unnecessary. Drive the pin in flush with the wall, drop the spring in, GENTLY EVER SO GENTLY, proceed to drive the pin in further until it pushes the spring against the opposite wall but doesn't "pin" it. Then compress the spring and shift it midline so that it impinges against the underside of the pin. Visually verify. use a flashlight. Proceed to finish driving the pin him. I did this 4-5 times the other day with narry an issue swapping stuff around.

This is the exact method I used. AR15 gas-tube roll-pin punch.

A little under $200.

Bottom one in pics is metal.

Yes, I'm back to an m4, and yes, there are aftermarket aluminum trigger guards currently on the market for the m4.
-
Trigger pull on my plastic fcg was slightly better than on my metal one. The plastic has less material at the stock end, and has more material over the hammer, and shows more machine marks but less flashing, in photos above.

$290 bucks. I have mine, if you want or need one, I would encourage its purchase. It may or may not end up like that. The polymer unit is likely functionally just fine. The CC CH is what it is, because it is the only one of its kind, functionally.

Well, more like aluminum or plastic. I am only aware of ONE OTHER aluminum trigger group in existence right now that is purchasable. Numrich is out, and so is Brownells. Looks like it's going to be "Plastic or Plastic" from here on out. Being as I got one of the last metal FCG's, here are the differences in picture and in print. -The metal FCG is 1.1oz heavier. -The metal FCG uses oxide finished flat-ended trigger pins, and the plastic uses SS or chromed rounded-head trigger pins (looks like M2 FCG pins carried over...) -The polymer FCG has additional structures. -The polymer FCG is much easier (almost the same as with it off) to cock the hammer on with the safety engaged. (sample of one...) Here are the photo comparisons:

Thanks for this. Been looking for an official stance on it, and this is as official as it seems it will get.

Nah, I deserve it :/

These have been out a good like while, now. I am curious: Failures? Issues? Good things? Bad things? What are the experiences with fit/finish? The only review in this thread indicates that it was lacking.

WTB: Carrier Comp charging handle - I'll pay double

Kip is pretty imperturbable. I doubt he will be bothered into anything. The man moves through his projects like a glacier. A really precise and exacting glacier. -
Call benelli, but I dunno about how the replacement will stack up.
-
Odd. Maybe the ports were a bit large or the relief springs a bit stiff on a certain run?
-
Picture of your barrel/damage? Does it have no skirt like the above barrel, or is it a newer one with a skirt? They are all chrome lined.
-
Anyone got a 7-rounder in OEM finish?
