A hairdryer won't help you, not enough heat. You can find heatguns fairly cheap and make life much easier. My tube removal wasn't too bad, about 10-15 minutes of heating before I got it to turn a little and then it was heat a little/turn a little for a while until about one third out and then I unscrewed it the rest of the way in one shot. Most of the threadlocker stayed on the old tube threads and the receiver threads were pretty much clean and ready to go.
