    Benelli Newbie

Welcome and enjoy your new toy... There is one inherent problem with the Benelli line of shotguns. They are a bit like rabbits. You bring one home and before long there are two. then three and so on. Nip it in the bud, Mc !! Or before long, you will be like the rest of us, working for our habit, neglecting the wife, kids, and dog. Next you'll be selling the old stand by o/u for a new camo SBE ll. and so on down the line. So be careful, it creeps up on you like an old pair of underwear, and then Pow, your hooked. Don't say you weren't warned.. It's my job!!
  2. Does the trigger assembly remove for cleaning, or is integral? Have not held one yet, but I'm interested!!
  3. Either one of these will make you happy. I have bbls., from 24'' to 30'', and none are appreciatively more accurate than the other. All will out shoot the guy pulling the trigger. As far as weight goes, 2 inches of hollow pipe will not slow you down. Personal preference is 24'' in the turkey blind and the thick woods and 26'' in the open field, but both will and do work in either situation. Good luck with your choice.

    yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh

This gives new meaning to what a ''Butt'' stock is.
  5. That's about the craziest law I've ever heard about. What's the point. Safety for the hunter, or the bird. Anyhow, I call from a blind when feasible, from the ground when not, and stalk as needed. The blind allows for the occassional cup of coffee, and comfort if it's raining. It also lets you stand up once in a while for those of us who are not spring chickens anymore. It's a great sport no matter how you get it done.. Good luck.
  6. Now that's what I'm talkin' about!! Nice stuff.. Keep them coming.
  7. I have shot a ton of Estate shells through a SBE ll, without fail. Both 1 oz. and 1 1/8 oz. I also shoot them in the legacys', both 12 and 20 ga. without fail. If you break them in and keep them oiled, not forgetting the slides, most any shells should work for you. I have also shot most of the lower end trap loads made by the major manufacturers without any problems.. Buy what's cheapest and save what's left for a new Benelli!! or two... Good luck!
  8. Let me know how it works out for you. I know you won't be dissapointed with the ''Claw''. They are not as pretty as some on the market, but I've found none better.
  9. Good for you.. Enjoy your new weapons and good luck with the hunting.
  10. Welcome!! Enjoy your stay. It's nice to know that there are at least 2 weapons in Ted Kennedys' state. Good Luck..
  11. This is all great advice. I would go with the SBE ll. I have one, and love it. I have shot 2 3/4'' trap loads without fail hundreds of times. Break it in, and keep it clean and oiled. Especially the oiled part!! Good luck..
  12. I use the ''Claw'' slings. They absolutley do not move once they are on your shoulder. The swivel also did not fit, so I found some that did and took the swivels off the ''Claw'' and rethreaded the nylon strap to the ones one the gun. Try the ''Claw'', you will like it. I turkey hunt and was sick and tired of the gun falling off of my shoulder while walking in with decoys, tent, etc. in my arms. A major pain in the butt. They make them in many colors, and camo,. Find one that you want and play around with the swivels. Mine actually came from an old sling that would not stay on my shoulder, and had to go anyway. Good luck.
  13. Amen, brother. It's not any better up here. Hopefully the voters will wake up and do what's right. Sooner than later.
  14. I did not realize the similarities between the cigar and the 12 ga. I do prefer the 50 ring maduro in the 5'' to 6'' range and my 12 ga.'s in 3.5''. Both with a lot of kick! It hurts so good... Nice job OhioM4.
  15. This is true, but it can lead to more problems than what is is worth. i.e. where you can, where you can't. Our atty. Gen. is pro gun, but that's where it ends. Liberal Governor and Legislature that I hope will change next election.
  16. You've got to love the guy. I love his line about the concealed carry. It is still not allowed here in Wisconsin, so it really rings true for us. At times he seems to be a little over the top, but he sure is fun to listen to. Ted rocks!!
  17. By the way, one should never shoot and drink because you may spill the drink!!
  18. I'm thinking maybe a cigar holder would be in order also.
  19. I don't hunt waterfowl anymore, but thought the show was great! Boom, Boom, Boom...

    coooooll lookin

Well, I tried it again but still too big. I will work on that when I get back. At least you can get a peek at them. Both shoot great, but the 20 ga. is my favorite.

    coooooll lookin

Looks like I got it, except it is a little large!! I'm not really sure why it got so big, but I will work on that. Thank you for the info.

    coooooll lookin

I would love to show them to you but I have two major problems. 1. I am technically challenged. I have the pics in My Pictures, and don't know how to get them on the forum. 2. I am leaving for a weeks vacation tomorrow morning. I will get them on there as soon as possible. They really are cute little buggers...
