  1. I would guess that there is. They use it on the bead on the end of the bbl. It is not the red type, so you should able to unscrew it easily, without heat.

    Legacy $$$

Congrats on the new Legacy. You will love it. I have the 12 and 20 ga. The 20 is beyond a doubt, my favorite gun to play with. You will have to keep an eye out for one.. Bye the way, you are slowly becoming that Benelli ''Freak'' that I warned you about a few months back. Isn't it great...
  3. First of all, welcome to the world of Benelli!! Secondly, I'm not sure how the mid bead is anchored. What I would do before I got too crazy about moving the bead a couple of thousanths, is to go and pattern the gun. When that is done, shoot some trap, birds or whatever. You will probably find that you look right over the mid bead when shooting, not even seeing it. I would guess that some use it, but I would also guess that most don't. I do not.

    weekend starter

I am enjoying the pics with a cup of Starbucks! What a great way to start the weekend!!
  5. I do not own a Supersport, but on the rest of the Benelli's that I own, the front bead unscrews counterclockwise. I am sure that your bead will also.
  6. The Nova comes with three chokes. Full, Modified, and Imp. Cyl. The button on the forearm, when depressed, allows you to eject the shell that is in the chamber, without bringing the next one up out of the magazine tube. This would be for crossing a fence or if you wanted to put a heavier load in for one shot at a goose or other bird. Hope this helps, and welcome to the world of Benelli...
  7. They still make a 2.5-8 in the Vari-X lll.
  8. No buckshot in Wisconsin either. At least not for whitetails. It can be used for varmints though. Part of the lower portion of Wi. was shotgun/pistol/muzzle loader, forever. They changed that last year to allow center fire rifles throughout. That worked out well. No one was killed by a bullet from 17 miles away, as was the worry from a lot of the small town politicians. Much ado about nothing...
  9. Well said, jonesbb630!! All of his advice is good. You will not go wrong buying Benelli. Sounds to me like the Super Nova will be right up your alley. You will not be disappointed. Let us know what decision you make. Good luck....
  10. Buy the scope. Get it mounted properly. Sight it in. Go kill something with it. Done deal!!
  11. Do you own any high power guns that have scopes on them? This 3.4'' eye relief is not at all unusual. It is the nature of the beast on rifle scopes.. If you are afraid of the set up, you going to have a hard time shooting without flinching.
  12. It would be enough for me.
  13. Nice group! The 2 MOA is key at the longer ranges. The red dot/holographic scopes have come a long way with the battery consumption problem and they are fun to use. I have an Aimpoint on my dedicated turkey SBE and love it to death. Battery life is like 5 years, on low. Never had to change it, but I carry an extra, just in case.
  14. I think that's enough eye relief. What are you worried about? Getting the scope between the eyes on recoil. That's what I am assuming. Keep it tight on your shoulder and shouldn't be a problem. What are you hunting? For deer and other big game a scope with crosshairs is nice, hence the eye relief. A red dot scope is an option if you are turkey hunting. With the red dot, eye relief is unlimited, eliminating the problem. The red dot can be used for slugs also, but it is harder to sight in because of the size of the dot at longer yardage.
  15. I'd call it a red bar sight, as advertised. Just because it's red does not mean it is fiber optic.
  16. You are being a little loose with the term fiber optic. Even though it is huge, it takes more than ambient light to make it easy to see. Compare it to any true fiber optic and the difference is easy to see. Pun intended..
  17. Your SBE ll will shoot 1 1/8 oz. shells until the cows come home, without a case of oil. Keep the rails lubed and the thing will not let you down. After you shoot a thousand or so, try the 1 oz. loads. I doubt that you will need to give the rest of the box away.
  18. They screw in. A small adjustable wrench works well. Otherwise a pliers will do the trick. Make sure you go counter-clockwise. There is probably some Loc-Tite on it, so once it breaks loose it will come out easily.
  19. Buy the SBE ll. When you get some extra ching, buy the Vinci. You will eventually want/need both. Trust me on this one. I own both, and this is the route that I would take.
  20. Wow! I had to come up for a breath, and I was just reading the post..
  21. These paperweights are better than money in the bank..Besides the fact that they can be fondled every once and a while.
  22. Glad to here that you are up and running. Enjoy your new toy, and welcome to the world of Benelli...
  23. That is weird. I would make sure that the bbl. is on all the way, seated in the receiver, and make sure that there is an extractor on the bolt face, If the gun is new and you can't make it work, either show it to someone that may figure it out or take it back. I'm sure other Nova owners will help you as well.. Stay tuned..
  24. I might have read this wrong. Do the shells stay in the mag. tube, or do they stay in the chamber after chambering?
  25. Am I correct to assume that you are not pushing the button on the forearm as you try to pump the action, as this will not allow a shell out of the mag. tube.
