  1. I've seen some train wrecks in my life, and this was a beauty!!
  2. I'll bet the people at Savage would like to hear that. Probably won't get much play time here...
  3. Bravo Uno. Last time I checked, Virginia was north of the border.
  4. There is something that is ''just wrong'' when an American citizen is denied the right to display a flag anywhere!! Prohibiting a Medal Of Honor winner from doing so is a complete travesty. Mr. Barfoot is a Hero. He deserves better. He and his kind earned this right for me. The HOA should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to be part of community rules. This violates everything our great Constitution stands for. Shame on them...
  5. Congrats on the Grand Daughter. You have the right to mix it up a little bit with news like that. You sound THRILLED, as you should be. Good Fortune to all. Now the bad news. You have to go to bed tonight with a Grandma.

    refreshing topic

I can look at these shotguns everyday. They never get old. It is like coffee in the morning, it just makes your day better.
  7. That Marlin is as pretty as it gets! Nice stuff Skeeter..Go Pack..
  8. More than likely has a seed or a speck of dirt that is blocking the travel. Clean it and blow it out with some air pressure.
  9. Shoot them both and see which one patterns better. You will have more capacity with the 1100. Good luck...
  10. Don't ever shoot the gun without the chokes installed. It will wreck the threads. Shoot slugs out of an open choke, i.e. cylinder, improved cylinder or modified. With cylinder being your first choice, and improved cyl. next. Pattern the gun so you know where it shoots. Then go kill something... Good luck..

    Happy Benelli

Go Packers! Both Al Harris and Aaron Kampman tore ACL's on Sunday. Both are gone for the year.
  12. I believe we have the problem solved.. With the Benelli semi automatic shotguns, the bolt will stay open after the gun is empty. If you are laying in a blind, there is really no need to open the bolt to check for a shell. If the bolt is open, you are empty. If it is closed, you have at least 1 shell in the gun. I'm sure that a few more rounds through the gun will help the jamming problem. Good luck with the upcoming ''duck'' hunt. By the way, that was a great typo.
  13. I am going back out twice this week dick hunting....hope to get more rounds fired through it.... What's the bag limit on those? And what do you wear for camo?
  14. After reading your last post, I am absolutely convinced that it is not the fault of the gun. When you open the bolt to check if it is loaded, it is not slamming shut. Load it as I described, ALWAYS. If you are worried that a shell is in the chamber, watch it as you push the bolt closing button. As far as the third shell hang up, Tuckers' advice is golden. If you load your new Vinci as I have described, you will not have a misfire on the first shot ever.
  15. If this is happening on the first shell only, my theory is that it is not going into full battery, and from the pictures, this is obvious. With the Benellis, it is important that you let the bolt slam the first shell home. I take the empty gun and push the shell drop lever. This allows the bolt to stay open when you cycle it. Now drop the first shell to be loaded into the ejection port opening and onto the carrier (elevator). Next you push the button that closes the bolt. The carrier will automatically lift the shell up and into the chamber as the bolt slams home. This system ensures that the gun is in battery. There have been a lot of hunters who baby the bolt forward as to not make any noise in the turkey woods. Then the time of reckoning comes and all they get is the famous Benelli ''click''. Now, if you load your gun as I have described and still have problems, then you have an issue with Benelli. From what I have read, for this to happen on two different shotguns leads me to believe it is more shooter error than gun failure. I hope this helps you get the problem worked out. Let me know how turns out. Good luck... Mike
  16. You definitely have the plug (limiter) still in the magazine tube. Read the manual, it will show you how to remove it. Be careful to hold the end cap when you do this because the tension on the spring will cause the spring, cap, and the plug to go flying out. No big deal, pick up the parts and reinstall, minus the plug. By the way, just the insert in the mag, cap comes out. I made the mistake of holding the whole cap and the spring got by me. If not sure, do it inside the house so you are not looking for parts in the grass. Good luck. Mike
  17. Shooting it in this fashion will definitely lower the point of impact. That would be hard for me to do in a situation where a quick shot is needed. If it works for you, don't change a thing. Don't fix something that isn't broke.. Glad to hear that you like your new Vinci.. Mike
  18. I have an Easy Hit on my Vinci and an SBE ll. Great sight. you will love it.
  19. Congrats. on the Federal Permit and the Nova!! We don't really know what you are going to hunt, so recommending ammo will be a little tough. I do know that it will shoot anything you run through it. Good luck with the shotgun, and welcome to the world of Benelli.. Mike
  20. If recoil lowers an elevator that is stuck in the "up" position, would that not remedy the problem? If recoil lowers the elevator before the forearm is even moved, the elevator would be in the proper place to receive the next shell.
  21. Did anyone ever check if the recoil of the gun going off lowers the elevator? Just wondering...
  22. Mudhen put me onto Indian Creek. He has tested them all at least once and swears by Indian Creek. I purchased one last week, but have not gotten the Hevi 13 #6 to shoot out of it yet. So my testing will have to wait until I get the shells. I think it would be a great place to start. Mudhen puts his time in on patterning. I would take his advice anytime...Good luck. http://www.indiancreekss.com/home.htm
