  1. I don't think that the Nova's ever came with a 2 pc. stock.
  2. Amen.. I agree totally. Buy the one you want. Unless the extra $100 will completely break the bank, get the one that trips your trigger. Both will last a lifetime, and in 10 years, you will forget what you paid for it anyway... Good luck, Mike
  3. I bought a part for a Legacy from them.( A forend cap) They are reputable as far as I am concerned. I think they are out of Illinois. I would have no problem ordering from them again... Mike
  4. In all fairness, he did say that he would be shooting raven, mostly. He never really said he was going to use it for thunder chickens..Mike

    New Additions

Cool beans Matt.. They look like fun.
  6. Usually, 20, 30, and 40 yards. This will give you an idea of what the chokes will do. Find someone with a trap thrower and spend the afternoon shooting in an informal setting. It is a great deal of fun, and you will learn the ins and outs of the gun and the range at which each choke works best at.
  7. Thanks Steve.. The pictures are incredible!! And from a place that most of us have not, and or, never will get to see... Mike
  8. For trap, the improved mod or full is a good choice. For skeet, imp. cyl. or cyl. will work. For rabbit and small game, imp.cyl or mod. would be good. The way you have them listed indicates the tightest pattern choke to the widest pattern i.e. full, imp. mod, mod, imp. cyl. and cyl. Full is the tightest, and cyl. is the widest. The supplied chokes will be all that you need, except for turkey, and maybe waterfowl. Hope this helps. Enjoy the new Vinci, and welcome to the world of Benelli.. Mike
  9. Yes. A thinner shim will raise the POI.
  10. I have a 2006 SBE ll in camo. It is definitely drilled and tapped. Don't know why yours wouldn't be... Mike
  11. Good for you!! I wish you well with your quest. That is a shotgun that can indeed do it all. Enjoy...
  12. Just curious. I have a Super Nova with a 24'' bbl. They are great guns.
  13. Kitty Whacker...Just curious... What gun do you turkey hunt with??
  14. I use a turkey poster. Then I shoot at 20, 30, and 40 yards. Make sure that you are rock steady so you can determine if the gun is shooting to a good POI. I'm sure that you will be good to go with either the #5's or #6's. At least by patterning, you will know what you got, and that is important. Good luck... Mike
  15. I shoot Win. Hi-Velocity #6's. 2 oz. load. I am going to pattern the Hevi-13 with an Indian Creek .665 choke, this spring, or as soon as the weather warms up here. I have the shells and the choke. It is just too damned cold here now, but that won't last forever. I hope... Mike
  16. It is a Hastings .660. It patterns really well. Either way, you will be fine.
  17. #6's all the way. If your choke will pattern them decently, fire up the turkey cooker, Kitty Whacker.. Mike
  18. The SBE ll's are. I do not know about the M2. Do not have one..
  19. Yes it is. Make sure you hold your hand over the end because the spring and end will fly off.
  20. A 10 box case of trap/heavy trap shells at Cabela's is around $60. Rio, Estate, Winchester etc. Sometimes you can find them for $55. Two years ago, I could get a case of Estates for $33. They are going nuts!
  21. I have shot three turkeys over 40 yards with #6 shot. One at 44 yards, one at 54 yards, both confirmed with a rangefinder. I shot one a little farther, but did not have a confirmed range. All were killed with Win. #6 Hi-Velocity 3 1/2''x 2 oz. loads. Hastings .660 choke, out of an SBE l. At least try the #6's. Pattern them and see if they will work for you. Good luck.. Mike

The more you do it, the easier it gets. Whether it is break-in or technique I don't know, but it does get easier.
  23. Don't be afraid of #6's beyond 35 yards. I have shot turkeys over 50 yds. with them. The important thing is to have a choke that will keep a tight enough pattern to allow you to shoot that far. They will penetrate. There is always concern about the energy loss on a smaller pellet on a long shot, but my theory is that it takes less energy to pound a small nail than a large one. Also, there are over 100 more pellets on a 2 oz. load of #6's over the #5's. That is huge.
  24. Can't speak for him, but I shoot #6's exclusively because of the extra pellet count. It penetrates well at long distances, contrary to popular belief. It is a great turkey load.
