  1. dukaddictI remember making a trip up to Tuke Lake and going over to Neuman & Bennet with my partner so he could p/u 6 custom painted Big Foot speck decoys back in the late 80's and also getting a dozen canvasback 2nds for San Pablo Bay. They made the bomb can decoys.
  2. "What is the difference between an M1 and an M2 besides the stock?" I believe the M2 is the 2nd generation model with the comfort tech stock upgrade over the M1...other than that, I don't know. I shoot a 24" 20ga. Montefeltro and just love it for quail hunting...just a hair over 5 lbs. Other 20 ga Benelli's are : Cordoba @ 6.3# and 4+1 cap Legacy @ 6.0@ and 4+1 cap Supersport @ 6.3# and 4+1 cap Sport II @ 6.3# and 4-1 cap I think that about covers the 20ga semi-auto lineup.
  3. Weren't the original Big Foot decoys made by Neuman and Bennet in Klamath Falls, Oregon?
  4. "I wonder if we will see the original Vinci quickly become obsolete as it is replaced by the Super Vinci." That will probably happen because they are offering three new configurations. The Vinci Super Sport, the Vinci Cordoba as well as the Super Vinci.
  5. duckht183, Nice! Don't get many opportunities for 'luets in California. First glance I thought it was a Cackler but I think I do see some white at the base of the black neck. I've only seen one in my lifetime. Grasslands or Sac Valley?
  6. bigkuntry72, hang in there. Pay attention and you'll eventually be able to identify just about everything. Watch them in flight, wing beats, size, wing position, habitat and how they fly...it'll all come together over time. It also helps to hunt with a veteran that can point out the little nuances of ducks.
  7. I did a search and posted 8 various review links for Front Sight...it seems that the general consensus is that Front Sight is a first class valid, well run firearms offensive/defensive training facility with knowledgeable instructors and recommended by all. I would recommend the CALGUN link as a first read. Many comments about Front Sight with no mention of Scientology Boogy Men.
  8. mudhen, I look at those specks and they make my mouth water...the rib-eye of the sky. Very nice, from the grasslands or up in the Sac valley? I'm in Fresno.

  12. HopetonBrown, all I did was google Front Sight reviews and bingo. I would suggest you not consider taking a class at Front Sight though, the Scientolgy "boogy man" might be lurking, waiting to single you out and put a hex on you. 13. I would say you would find your best deals on Gunbroker.com. I bought my NIB synthetic Vinci for $1050 + $30 shipping and just bought a NIB $2800 Franchi Highlander SxS for $1049 + $30 shipping. I've bought and sold 7 guns through them without a hitch. Highly reputable source is my experience.
  14. That's ridiculous. Frontsight is not some weird Scientology recruiting outfit. Dr. Piazza considers himself to be a Catholic and is not an active Scientologist. My next door neighbor attended a two day CCW training course and was blown away by the professionalism, the training as well as the facilities.
  15. ...and????? Do you sleep with a nite light too:cool:??? Just so there in no misunderstanding or misiformation, Piazza considers himself to be a catholic and not an active Scientologist and doesn't call himself the Millionaire Patriot , he had been dubbed Millionaire Patriot for providing millions of dollars in firearms and training to help citizens protect themselves and their families. Bad information only leads to bad rumors.
  16. Very good. It don't get much better than that!
  17. I'm not a tactical shotgun person but I can tell you Dr. Piazza/Frontsight is a first class world leader in all areas of firearms training and tactics, from civilian up to specialized military. http://www.frontsight.com/ By the way, if anyone would be interested, they are currently searching for more full time and part time instructors.

    Tom Knapp

Exhibition Shooter Tom Knapp has teamed up with firearms company CZ-USA. Tom has selected the CZ 712 to use in his upcoming shooting demonstrations. The 712 as well as other CZ-USA models will be featured during his wing shooting clinics. New videos and TV appearances are in the works where Tom will bring new ideas along with his special brand of excitement to the line of CZ shotguns, rifles and pistols. Tom and CZ-USA are excited about the potential presented by the combination of Tom’s shooting skills and the quality firearms from CZ. http://cz-usa.com/tomknapp/ What will be interesting to see is if Tom can influence CZ to offer a quality semi-auto. There offers to date have been a low end, low quality crap shoot. Good luck to Tom Knapp. http://www.tomknapp.net/
  21. mudhen, you're right, I stand corrected. DeLeon made a feeble attempt to classify all of the dual purpose calibers as handgun ammo and that was rejected so it ended up that there was no specific clarification of what was "handgun" ammo vs rifle ammo, which left the legislation as "vague" and ultimately caused the legislations downfall. Because the law was vague, online vendors did send out notices that they would cease sales to California residents effective 2/1/2011. This jerk DeLeon and the Calif libs won't stop trying though.
  22. Amen to that!
  23. rocketw, so do I...had to put in a last minute order for 1000rd of 223/5.56 for my AR...the only thing I don't buy online is my clay target loads, wally world... tucker, I'll be moving out of Calif within 3 years...Idaho, Montana, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona...or Texas...tryin' to find a good mix of ducks and decent weather...not to hot...whew! Oh, and a gun friendly environment...!
  24. Court Grants NRA/CRPA Foundation Motion, Invalidates Unconstitutional Ammunition Regulation Statute, AB962, That Would Have Banned Mail Order Ammo Sales & Required Ammo Sales Registration. 1/18/2011 In a dramatic ruling giving gun owners a win in an National Rifle Association/California Rifle and Pistol (CRPA) Foundation lawsuit, this morning Fresno Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Hamilton ruled that AB 962, the hotly contested statute that would have banned mail order ammunition sales and required all purchases of so called "handgun ammunition" to be registered, was unconstitutionally vague on its face. The Court enjoined enforcement of the statute, so mail order ammunition sales to California can continue unabated, and ammunition sales need not be registered under the law.
