  1. Keep your head down and swing thru...it does work. I busted my first ever 50 straight in my trap league last nite...shooting my HK/Benelli SBE.
  2. You are taking a Benelli, why would you feel you'll need spare parts? Spike is right, take two guns.
  3. HK was the importer for Benelli Shotguns in the mid 1980's thru 1994 - Sterling VA - HK and Benelli cancelled the relationship in 1994 from further importation of arms... Benelli USA opened shop here in the U.S. afterwards...1995 - Current Operation...Benelli and Benelli USA have been owned by Beretta since 2000. The Benelli Super Black Eagle, a favorite of waterfowlers, was one of the first semi-automatic shotguns capable of firing the 2.75, 3, and 3.5 inch shotgun shells. As for value, I would say $850-$1000 in excellant condition.
  4. The difference is 2 inches between each barrel length which does not affect the guns performance or the ammunitions ballistics in any way. Barrel length is strictly a preference issue, nothing more or less.
  5. Decisions, decisions! The horror of it all. I don't own a SS or a Legacy, though I might some day, but I finally realized I shoot my old wood stocked HK SBE better than my Vinci at the trap range...the weight I think! The SBE just swings better for me at the range.

They said it was an M2 Super 90.
  8. "I know some people believe it to be over rated." The only reason people say Benelli's are overrated, and I've heard them all for the 22 years I've been shooting my SBE, is because they either can't afford a Benelli or they are completely "brand" friendly. (chevy vs ford deal) I'll take the Benelli inertia action over any gas action, anytime and anyplace. That is just my opinion. Having shot Remingtons, Brownings, Berettas and Smith & Wesson, I've never had my Benelli fail me in the field unlike every one of the brands I've mentioned. There's no reason to break it in with anything heavier than max dram 1-1/8 oz loads unless you want to.
  9. I seriously doubt if a gas operated Remington could survive 3cs/day for 5 days.
  10. dxcman12, glad to see CS is handling it for you. Good luck.
  11. No, the bolt and carrier are original but they did replace all of the internals and springs including the firing pin.
  12. I've been shooting an HK/Benelli SBE for 22 years now and did send it in for ejection problems after 20 years. Benelli replaced all of the internal parts and springs...au gratis. I believe Tom Knapp had over 500,000 rounds through his M1 Super 90 before he retired it and started shooting an M2. Keep taking care of your M1S90 and it can last your lifetime.

    Not a Benelli

Such are the dreams of us common folk.
  14. I personally prefer shorter barrels and have been shooting them pretty well for over 30 years. A 26" Benelli SBEII is about the same length from butt to barrel tip as a 28" standard auto or O/U. Because the 3-1/2" reciever is longer than a standard 3" autoloaders reciever and as the video that tucker301 linked to explains that there is no noticable difference or advantage to a longer barrel vs a shorter barrel. Get what you feel comfortable with and you'll be happy. I also shoot a 24" 20 ga Monty and love it.
  15. Have you been shooting the same ammo or have you changed what you have been shooting? The manual says to shoot 1-1/8 oz loads. I am able to cycle 1oz loads through my Vinci, but I think I just got lucky, not all Vinci's will cycle 1oz loads. I'd suggest you check your ammo first.

    Chokes

There are two types of choke tubes for Benelli's...Crio and standard. The Crio chokes fit the Benelli shotguns that have Crio treated barrels. The M4 does not have a Crio treated barrel and uses the standard Benelli chokes. http://www.benelliusa.com/parts_and_accessories/choke_tubes.php
  17. I hear ya on the tester's job. The Winchester rep sent a couple of boxes to Cazadora to be field tested. No retail to the public yet. Mack's doesn't expect any until they get their new stock from Winchester sometime in August.
  18. My experience is that the fee is sufficient but it doesn't hurt to offer a little extra if you are satisfied with the service.
  19. mudhen, someone was pullin your leg, but whatever! Bourjaily from Field and Stream went to Nilo Farms and shot some flighted ducks with it late last year so I see where you may have read about it and there were some pictures in the article and again in another article on Jan 2011 on Shotgun World forum complete with pictures of the packaging. http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=86&t=243614 That said, it has never been sold to the public and is set to be introduced to retail around June of this year. Winchester didn't officially make the announcement until the 2011 SHOT SHOW. You said: "$19.95 per 25 at Mack's most of last waterfowl season. I've got a case ordered for this season." When I read about it I did inquire with Erin at Mack's and did find it kind of funny, after reading your post, that Mack's isn't taking any orders because they've never had it? Oh well, such the life of a duck hunter. I do want to get some and no one has any info yet in Fresno. Could I get the name & phone number of your dealer because I'll be in Sacramento most of next week and I would like to order a case for myself. That would be much appreciated.
  20. I found this on ebay, it might be just what you need. It's $10.95 + $2.50 shipping. It's an old Instruction & Parts manual - Benelli Armi Auto Shotgun http://cgi.ebay.com/Instruction-Parts-List-Benelli-Armi-Auto-Shotgun-/310297619912?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item483f2dedc8
  21. Trick shooter Tom Knapp and Benelli part ways, Knapp to persue independent ventures. World class exhibition shooter Tom Knapp has left Benelli USA, and is now pursuing independent endeavors including shooting performances, video projects and broadcast programs. Knapp was forced to cancel his 2010 schedule for Benelli USA following a temporary medical condition in late 2009. Benelli subsequently ended its relationship with Knapp. “I had an excellent relationship with Benelli for nearly two decades,” said Knapp. “I built a strong, positive image with my fans, sponsors and colleagues. Now I’m quickly regaining my health and looking forward to the next phase of my career.” http://www.tactical-life.com/online/news/trick-shooter-tom-knapp-leaves-benelli-to-persue-independent-ventures/?right=related
