^^ I hope we're not going to be exposed to an overlay of that visual.

Both screw sizes work if those M2 receiver holes were factory and not uncertain aftermarket installations. There is only 0.0065" of a major diameter difference between the 8-40 and the M4. The .75 pitch and 40 tpi are also virtually identical. It is one of few size instances where metric and UNC/UNF are interchangeable for all practical reasons. I have used both in the receiver holes. You can get the 8-40 plug screws @ Brownells. https://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/small-hardware/metal-screws/plug-screw-kit-prod792.aspx These are factory screws from years past.

Well, then just use 8-40 plug screws! http://www.brownells.com/shotgun-parts/barrel-parts/barrel-hardware/8-40-screw-plugs-prod75293.aspx http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/small-hardware/metal-screws/hex-plug-screws-prod21185.aspx

You can just use plug-and-play polymer plug "screws" and not worry about the threads. http://www.brownells.com/shotgun-parts/barrel-parts/barrel-hardware/8-40-screw-plugs-prod75293.aspx

1. Before removing the magazine tube place a witness mark index on it relative to the receiver so the magazine tube can be restored to its exact position after removal. The barrel indexes off the magazine for proper head spacing of the cartridges, thus proper functioning. 2.Because of #1, you should use some modest strength thread locker to prevent the magazine tube from unscrewing from the receiver during recoils. A small amount on just several muzzle-end threads of the magazine will make any future removal much easier. Finally, resort to fabricating a simple tool.

For those that may be interested in disassembling their shrouded Surefire end-cap, a couple of simple methods can be used. 1. Proper-sized angle snap-ring pliers to engage the slots in the retaining ring to unscrew it from the shroud. 2. A simple inexpensive watch case back removal tool with a variety of tips, fit the slots of the retainer ring nicely.

The above 14" 870 started life as a 18" Wilson Scatterguns Technologies custom; way to bulky !

I couldn't decide amongst the common choices either, so a modified a few shorts ones to address their usual criticisms. This site is all screwed up lately......difficult to post a message and edit messages !!!

The M4 14" & std. 18.5" use the same magazine spring as the magazine tube length & capacity are the same, only the barrel changes.
-
^^ What he said. I too am not aware of any "magazine extensions" from Benelli.

Is the complaint about the loss of 2 mm of receiver finish ? when the bolt is in battery and apparently only when the bolt handle is pushed inwardly. The metal-to-metal contact may well be due to slightest differences in Benelli receiver profile rather than the bolt handle specifications. If the bolt handle was too short as implied by the OP, why doesn't the bolt handle scrape the receiver finish along the entire length of its excursion? It appears that this fit mismatch would have been obvious upon installation of the bolt handle. Alma-Black will camouflage the mark.

Curious mind wanted to know. The U.S. Consumer Protection Agency and U.L. approval governs maximum hair dryer temperatures to 140 deg F / ~ 60 C to prohibit scalp burns. "Other components of the hairdryer are designed to ensure its safe operation. Dryers contain a safety cut off switch that prevents the temperature of the drier from exceeding 140°F (60°C). This switch is a bimetallic strip, which is made from a sheet composed of two metals. These metals expand at different rates when they are heated. As the temperature inside the drier increases, the strip will bend one way or another as the metal strips expand at different rates. When a certain temperature is reached the strip bends to appoint where it trips a safety switch that cuts off the power to the drier." http://www.madehow.com/Volume-7/Hair-Dryer.html -

I always choose to ruin the least expensive part or the part that is most easily replaced !
