  1. Bueller?... Bueller?... Bueller?
  2. Fairly sure those caps are plastic plugs that fill the threaded holes. Take a look inside and see if they're through and through.
  3. ...busted... Guilty as charged...
  4. The GG&G model will also fit the SBE models. Put one on my H&K SBE and really like it.
  5. Shot about 15-20 Federal/Barnes 3" hollow points out of my SBE and liked what I saw, 1 1/2" at 75 yds. The tipped Federal/Barnes had more speed and energy, but grouping wasn't as consistent for me, your results may vary. Best of luck!
  6. Is the bolt out of battery when it "clicks"? Or is this a firing pin issue?
  7. I purchased a GG&G front sling mount for a Mossberg 590 and spent 10 minutes with a file and Dremel tool to get it to fit my SBE.
  8. TC, Those belt carriers look like a nice rig. Great looking pup!

Sounds good so far. Hows the recoil? Plastic build up in the bore? Keep us posted!

    Whoa Nelli!

    Saw this somewhere else... http://www.benelli.it/Articoli/Armi.asp?ID=980

Uno, I'd love to try them. But I'd have to shoot a bunch of them out of my H&R first to make sure that steel core never touches the rifling. Would really hate to ruin my SBE barrel...
  12. Why am I thinking 28 ga?
  13. Just got my Steady Grip stock from Cabelas. No sling plate... A few minutes on the phone with Brownells, got one on the way, short money too!
  14. MH, No flats on the outside of the assembly, must be the oldest one. It's an H&K SBE. No issues with the spring at this time. Might be better off to wait until I have a new one in hand before attempting. Are the threads RH or LH to remove the assembly? Thanks!
  15. Have an older SBE and want to clean and lube the recoil spring. Got the stock off and was wondering what the best way to get the assembly unscrewed from the receiver to expose the spring. Or is there another way? Thanks!
  16. For a smoothbore, I like Brenneke, Fiocchi, or any other attached wad slug. Rifled barrel, I like the Federal Barnes Expanders. But they are a tad expensive...
  17. Wired, I'm getting ready to do the same with my SBE. Going to use a Vickers sling and mount it either through the stock sling mount plate, or a GG&G adapter between the receiver and the Steady Grip. Not 100% sure the GG&G option will work. Waiting on my Steady Grip to arrive next week before going that route. I'll try to remember to post a couple of pics when I'm done. Best of luck to you!
  18. If you hunt in any type of thick brushy areas, I'd go with the lower powered scope. You'll appreciate the 1x powered scopes ability to find the deer in the thick stuff. Hardly ever turn my 1.75x6 Leupold over 3 or 4 power. It's nice to have the higher power once in awhile, but when hunting, it's almost always at the lowest setting. The scope will also "gather" more light at the lower power, allowing you to hunt a few minutes longer... Good luck, sounds like a great combo!
  19. My vote is for option #1, scoped guns help these old eyes see the target a wee bit better...
  20. Our work guns have a mod choke. Slugs shoot fine, buckshot patterns at 25yds are very tight. Don't know that I'd go any tighter than mod though.
  21. Spas, I'll pass, looks like Gene is closer. Might be easier to get it to him.
  22. Asked this on another board, maybe this is the correct place... Anyone have an SBE w/Steady Grip for a slug gun? Have a concern that the stock is too low to see through the scope. I could build the Steady Grip up somewhat, maybe 3/8 - 1/2 inch, but if needs more than that, it's probably too low. Thanks!
  23. Spas, Thanks for the reply. Let me think about it.
  24. Where are you located? Any idea of shipping to 19947? Thanks!
