I had a set of Meprolight night sights on a Super Nova tactical that I sold. They are basically the same part that goes on the M4. I hated them from the minute I installed them. Like others have said, they are basically worthless in the day time. With all the ilumination technology available, you'd think they could come up with something better than what they currently offer.

Yes, correct. This is the same process they use for the "muted" ti tubes they sell. The tang is blued A2 steel so that's protected but the Ti really doesn't "need" a coating for any other reason than aesthetics. Doesn't mean I won't buy one of the coated ones when they are available.:cool:

Super Nova's receiver is already drilled/tapped.

As Kip said, it does not interfere with the ghost ring sights at all. Furthermore, that part is superbly designed with form and function in mind. You won't be disappointed.

True that there are always going to be negative things said. The key here is that providing source info for a statement like the one TKTM made is the is the difference between credible intel and useless internet banter. Btw, nice post and link Vague.

The way this thing reads, to me, is that shotguns cannot be configured with "these" features and be imported for sale here in the US. I think the key word here is "imported". Once you purchase your "importable" shotgun, then do whatever the **** you want to with it. Seems to me you can go out and buy/build yourself an AR rifle with all those features (and more) and there are no issues like this. Jesus, one of those things fully loaded could do more damage that a Benelli M4 that holds 8 rounds.

I have the Mod 2 short rail on my M4 and it doesn't interfere with the sights at all.

So I'm confused a little.........is the upper part that is labeled Surefire, and contacts the barrel, all rubber?

Kip, if you don't have any luck here, you might try Mesa Tactical. I read on their forum that the Urbino's for the M1 are shipping now.

I'm pretty sure the one you are referring to is from Nordic Components. GG&G basically nailed it with theirs. I love it on my M4.

The last time any came up were from Botach on Gunbroker and they ran $995. IIRC, cleefurd and texas skeeker bought one each.

What does PII have to do with answering a simple question. I didn't ask you to reveal anything other than whether YOU contacted FTT for some kind of resolution to your issue. I didn't need a dissertation on the matter, a simple yes or no would suffice. I think at this point we all know what your answer is. No problem. You know, I actually did a funny thing. On one of my fit-ups, I inadvertently got an OEM and an FFT mixed up and installed one of each on my M4. They actually fit great with no gap or movement and the only reason I noticed was that the end profiles on the bottom are ever so slightly different. It took a little bit to actually notice but then I quickly made it right.

The answer is yes. It does seem easier as I ended up taking it down a couple more times to check just what you asked. There isn't any issue with getting it re-installed and it seriously fits very well on my weapon. If it didn't, I'd be on the horn asking for another go at it, you can be sure of that. I'm just glad to have the part and know that it works.
