    FFT forend review

I know this and that's the case on my weapon. My FFT forearm fits perfect and I am happy to report I have no issues with mine. I suggest you contact FFT and they will happily assist you in any direction you want to go. Bye now.

    FFT forend review

Yes, I have spoken with Todd about this issue. More about that in a minute. I got mine yesterday and didn't have time to install it until just a few minutes ago. Here are my observations. My unit is slightly bowed on the bottom of each part like others have stated. If you hold the two halves together off the weapon, you will see a slight gap when you hold one side of the ends together. With that said, I also compared my OEM Benelli halves and while it isn't as pronounced, the same thing exists there. Now, when I installed the FFT forend, I noticed that is was a "bit" tighter than the OEM one. What I did to get mine on was to install the forward ends first into the forward retaining ring. Then I slid the entire assembly into the retaining clip on the front of the receiver. Low and behold, it was tight. I had to exert a little effort to get it to seat into the rear retaining clip. It did seat into the clip just fine though. Then I re-installed the mag cap and tightened it down snug. I did notice a slight gap between the forward retaining ring and the forend so I place the buttstock on my boot, took a piece of 2 x 4 and a dead blow hammer, and tapped down on the end of the barrel. I was able to tighten the mag cap a little more and the gap disappeared. I have absolutely no gap or movement in mine. In fact after getting it on "completely", there isn't any play anywhere and it feels rock solid. You can't even tell that the halves were bowed once it's properly installed. To me, it looks and feels identical to the OEM part. I would venture to guess that if you are experiencing any play at all, check to see if it is fully seated in the retaining rings, especially the forward one. Now, I spoke with Todd at FFT a couple of times between yesterday and today. Once to see where my box was because I was trying to track it and the number was wrong and once to let him know how my unit fit. It's my understanding that this bowing is most likely due to them using a different, and stronger, grade of plastic to make the part. The fact that it is bowed slightly, IMHO, is what's making it slightly more difficult to install. However, once installed properly, there shouldn't be any issues. Like I said about mine, it's perfect now that it's mounted on the weapon and fully seated into the retaining clips. I would encourage anyone who isn't satisfied to give them a call. I know for a fact that they want to know what's up and will take care of you if you are not happy.

    FFT forend review

Expressing my disappointment in how something was designed, no matter how vociferously, is different. Had I bought a Mesa Tactical Urbino and had subsequent issues with it I would not have gotten on the internet and written anything until I had contacted Mesa with my concerns. That is how I roll. Oh and btw, thanks so much for "your" positive contribution. I think we should all strive to be more like you.

    FFT forend review

Well then it seems like from your response you were more interested in starting a thread telling us the problems you had rather than checking in with FFT first. Maybe that's just the way you roll but I would have taken the step to contact them before getting on-line and writing up a review. That's just the way I roll. Have a nice day.

    FFT forend review

I have a few questions for you as I have one of these in transit. First, have you contacted Todd at FFT and shared these concerns with him. Having spoken with him on a few occasions, I know he would be interested to find out that one of these units might be problematic. Second, do you have any photos you could share that show the problems you are having? I know that Benelli restricts forum privileges until you have a certain number of posts but there are ways around that. Pictures would go a long way in terms of helping to understand the issues you are having. Third, how old is your M4 and what kind of condition is it in? I ask because if it's older or has been banged around a bit, there is a good possibility that the tolerances may be indeed off a bit and may account for the issues you describe. As I said earlier, your best bet would be to contact Todd at FFT and describe what is happening. I would think that you might get better satisfaction from doing that as opposed to writing what I consider to be an incomplete review on an internet forum.
  6. Sweet! Mine should be here tomorrow.

    M1014 value

I wonder who has the 0666 one?
  9. Sorry to hear that SD. Good thing they are taking care of you. I've been modestly intrigued by this forend since the Magpul video came out and this is the first chance at some good pics, thanks. Am I to understand that there is rubber on all the barrel contact surfaces of the rail? I was curious, since it is made of aluminum, how the thing kept from potentially marring the barrel. Also, if it is rubber, how do you anticipate it holding up under the heat of rapid fire?
  10. I wish they made some in fuscia.
  11. Nordic components.
  12. I could use a set. Lemme know if it works out. KB
  13. Just out of curiosity, how many rounds do you have through it?
  14. 8 was just too many hanging off the receiver for me. Sidearmor all the way.
  15. Bad guys bank on folks with unloaded guns. YMMV but I'll keep mine fully loaded.........and that includes one in the chamber.
  16. Personally, I would prefer it without the sling loop.
  17. Unless they have been listed on the cc site, you will have to contact Kip directly. They are $159 + shipping.
  18. Me too.
  19. I don't remember it coming up but you are right, it is a PIA. I would be down for something like a spacer as long as it fit with the look/function of the weapon.
  20. If you take away all the bling, you're only looking at the barrel work as the mag tube for the 14" is the same as the one that comes stock on the 18.5" M4. I can see that running in the $400-$600 range if I had to guess.
  21. I have a comfortech stock for a Super Nova that I would be willing to trade you but mine is black.

    Yes it is.

Because of the kind of optic the Prismatic is, I needed to get it farther back on the weapon than a standard red dot for proper eye relief. The spacer kept me from removing the rear ghost ring sight to accomodate the optic. It just so happened that it's the perfect height for me. I haven't put any rounds thru the brake yet but will report back when I do. With the RA chokes, I imagine it will perform admirably. I purchased it from carriercomp in the finish that matches the weapon. It's an absolutely stellar part. Here's a better view.

Mine does and I use a Leupold Prismatic on a Larue mount with the middle spacer. Yes on the second question as well.
  25. No problem. I hope it all works out for you. Here is a little search I turned up about Impact guns. http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/gunsmiths/impact-guns-in-ogden-ut-4001178 The other google stuff that came up was mostly positive. The only negative stuff I found sounded like the folks were butthurt about something stupid. http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=impact+guns+review&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
