A stock like the C-stock or Urbino that have reduced lengths of pull are not "flash" if they make the weapon easier to hold. An extended magazine tube is not "flash" if it enables the weapon to hold more rounds.

Which recoil tube do you have? If it looks like the one on the top, it will collapse. If it looks like the one at the bottom, you will just have a skeleton stock.

How long until the C-Stock is a $150 part?

Thanks for the thoughtful response. I live in California, so to use the C-Stock I'd have to pin it in place. I don't know how easy that would be. I'd probably pin it to the 2nd position. It's nice to hear it's well made; I would expect nothing less from Benelli. I agree that every other collapsible stock feels like it's about to fall to pieces. I just bought a C-Stock from HKP2000, but will probably just hide it away and buy the Mesa and use that. One thing that I think we can all agree on is that Mesa releasing the Urbino has lowered the price of both the fixed (to $50) and C-Stock.

My post was a question, Charlton, which is why there is a question mark. I own neither, but I'm listing the supposed superlatives of each and asking why Super33 seemed pretty emphatic that the C-Stock as being the better choice, saying one would be "crazy" to pick the Mesa over the C-Stock. So I ask again, and you could contribute Charlton, what makes the C-Stock better? I like how the Mesa Stock has the Limbsaver pad, adjustable cheek weld, costs almost half as much, and counts as an American part towards 922r compliance. I like the collapsible nature of the C-Stock, plus it looks darn cool. People don't need to get so butthurt around here if a piece of plastic they bought isn't everyones choice.

Aside from the ability to have 3 different lengths, what else does the C-Stock do? The 2nd position would probably be perfect for me, and the fully collapsed length for storage would be nice. The Mesa stock has the Limbsaver buttpad, and a better check weld for optics, and is still half the price. I certainly agree the C-Stock is the best looking, for sure. Here's a pic of some Marines covering the C-stock to protect their face. The Mesa version is supposed to address this.

Larry Vickers has this to say about 3 points slings; it's kinda funny. Note that he's addressing their use with rifles not shotguns. "I very rarely see these in classes anymore as I think everyone has gotten the word on them. With an AR style carbine they are about the worst possible choice. They offer none of the advantages of an adjustable two point with almost every negative in the book. They tend to hang up on kit big time. For a right hander they can interfere with controls and for a left hander they interfere with ejection. If you are standing around with no body armor on they may be cool (I don’t think so) but with any gear on shooters quickly figure out they are lame beyond belief. Like I said fortunately most people have gotten the word on three point slings so they are scarce in the circles I run in." Not every piece of equipment is going to be perfect for everyone, so your mileage may vary.

I don't have an answer to your question. But since this is a discussion board, I'm gonna post what Larry Vickers has to say about single point slings. This is not to denigrate you or your decision to use them, but rather as a learning aid for everyone here who doesn't have a lot of experience with slings and using them in combat scenerios; which will probably include most of us (certainly me). Larry Vickers is a former Delta Force operator and 20+ year military veteran. But like most things, preferences and expectations are unique to the individual user. What works for one person may not work for another. Single Point Slings – As many of you know I am not a fan of this design. In my opinion it has far too many negatives for very few positives. The one big plus of the single point design is it is very easy to switch from shoulder to shoulder for weak side barricade shooting. It is a big advantage in that situation. However I honestly cannot think of another attribute it has; everything else in my opinion is negative. It tends to make the rifle dangle and hang off of you like a dead cocker spaniel. When you are shooting on the move after a transition it tends to interfere with your movement as the carbine wants to hang in front of your body. It also likes to hang up on kit as it is tight around your upper torso. When you take a knee it is guaranteed you will muzzle strike the ground unless you control it. Also if you are trying to climb anything it wants to hang in front of your body and prevent you from climbing efficiently. Single point slings are great if you are static at the 7 yd line and play bullet hose but other than that, in my humble opinion, they suck. As far as I am concerned all the negatives greatly outweigh the sole positive feature.
