I confess that this is not my favorite build, but I'm sure it works for you. Some questions... Two foregrips? What? Do you hold one foregrip in each hand and then have someone else pull the FFT trigger? Can we get a video of this immediately if not sooner? Because that would be awesome. : ) Don't the GG&G charging handles break? Get your order in over at carriercomp or keep the OEM version close at hand. I do kind of like the breecher.

Man that is a huge caliber just for ******* around. Expensive. It will be bad a** at the range but you are going to bleed cash. No personal experience shooting it; too spendy and doesn't suit my needs. The LMT ARs I own/shoot are DI (no piston). So the opposite of Hookster. I wasn't sold on the advantage of the piston vs. the extra cost. You still have to break your gun down and clean it. I'm told that if you do a carbine class and shoot a thousand rounds of 5.56 in a day you can get away with not cleaning your piston gun before your class the next day. (I don't know anyone that wouldn't square away their gear after a long shooting day but I'm sure they are out there. More likely, it may be a matter of necessity: you're on the move, you're injured, you loaned the gun to someone that doesn't know how to clean it. If that's a possibility then it might be worth the extra spend.) Pistons are a big advantage if you're a high-volume shooter that shoots suppressed a lot. Also good if you are doing some handloads and want a gun that you can tune to your load. If you're just a guy punching paper down at the range then a piston gun is maybe not the best allocation of resources. But it's your money so do what you like. Making up numbers, but it may be a case of spending $1800 on a rifle you don't like or $2500 on a rifle you love. The $1800 gun is a waste of money, but the $2500 gun you love is great deal. KnowwhatImean?

Throw those guns on calguns and they will get sold in short order. Those prices are good. If the hk were 9mm I would buy it. Another advantage to selling on calguns is the users will expect the 10 rd mags.

I was just shopping the ssa trigger to drop into my mrp. Never considered the single stage but now I may do because it sounds great. It would have to be to be better that the ssa. More armchair research for me. That 9mm ar looks awesome. Nice attention to detail.

@ OP: Go to candlepowerforum to see more about this than you could ever want to know. Check the 'recommend me a light for..' threads. For a quick answer: I agree with RocketW. I run the surefire x300 and x300 ultra. You should be able to find a used x300 out there now that the ultra is in circulation. Yes it is overpriced and you are paying for a name. But: it always works. Streamlight is a good second option and it's much cheaper.

Try Federal Flite Control #1 Buck. It's awesome and very hard to find (unless you're LEO or military). I have to pay the big bucks for the Flite Control in 00 Buck and I use it for home defense, although I wish I could get the #1. The 00 patterns great in my M4 and cycles every time.

I opted for the 3 slot rail and it fits well. I don't mind moving my hand forward on the foregrip. Mounted the BMT about 1/16" off the end of the foregrip and it feels good to me. I don't notice the weight of the light and mount at all, which I really like. Going to try it out at the range next time, make sure it's a good fit while practicing. Haven't mounted my sling yet because I need an adapter for the rear of the stock. Not a fan of the sling mount on the stock. I'm going to look at some different options. Now if lapolicegear had that x300 ultra in stock... -case-

Thanks for the thorough review Hookster! I installed my CDM bmt mount, took the x300 off my pistol and tried it out. I was pleased with the ergos and the weight. The rail on the cdm mount was a tad wider than the rail on my handgun and stuck slightly. After a few installs and removals it got easier. I checked to make sure the x300 was still solid on the handgun so no issues there. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. The guy should give a referral rate! I wouldn't have bought it without your pics and feedback.

Those guns look good. I had a heck of a time getting the loctite to break loose when I did mine. I didn't have a vise though and had to do it by hand. Even so, I found that it took a lot more heat than the instructions indicated. I used a $60 Ryobi heat gun from Home Depot. @OP: Did you use any loc tite when you installed the new tube?

Agreeed. If you add an optic it should be more capable than the gun (and you). The issue with a cheap sight on the Ben m4 is sturdiness: will it hold up? The t1 will. Not sure about the Burris. Larue has a deal on the t1 that includes their mount. That's where I got mine. Plus If you dont like it on the m4 you can always move it to an ar. @truckcop: I think your lm308 is more expensive than the optic now : )

That was my reasoning as well. The gun will work reliably until I have time to clean it. That might be one trip to the range or it could be several, but it isn't really a legitimate obstacle. I'll just throw the allen wrench in the bag with the wrench for the mount for the optic. ; )

Thanks for the thorough review Hookster! I just ordered the BMT mount and a QD swivel. I'll put the x300 ultra on it when they have it in stock at LA Police Gear or Brownells. The ergonomics look pretty good with the light on the right side and the swivel on the left so that's how I plan to run it. Anyway, your photos and comments were a big help. Much appreciated. Only drawback to this setup is the extra tool required to field strip. That's a compromise but I am okay with it.

Im late to this but I too covet the threaded barrel. Those pistols are niiiice. I have zero use for a suppressor but I know that if I lived in a state where they were legal I would find some reason to buy one. Or several. There seems to be a lot of benelli and hk ownership overlap. Not a surprise. They are expensive but you only cry once. @op - did you try a red dot sight with a quick mount? I know that has already been suggested but it's a good solution. If your aimpoint fails you can remove it in 10 secs and put it in your pocket, switch to iron. It depends on your mission and intended use.

1. No. It's a gas operated shotgun. You can attribute the issues to break in, not how you are holding it. If you're still getting FTEs after 300 rounds of slug or full power buck loads (#1 works too, and it's often cheaper than 00) then something is wrong. 2. No. With a total of 50 rounds through the gun you did not get it hot enough. It would be a pretty sorry excuse for a shotgun if you did. Note that grip is just as important as stance. The shotgun should sit gently in the shoulder pocket and you should be pushing with your front hand and pulling with your back hand. This is explained in detail in other posts, and there are plenty of vids on the youtube.
