  3. I just took a look at ebay..... on the first page there was one for $200.00 and another was $150.00. I didn't look any further. People are just greedy A-holes. Stupid too, when you can buy one from Benelli for $120.00.
  4. Thanks to all for your opinions. And RoadDad, thank you for the detailed explanation of your experience with them both, as you appear to have the same general fit to the the stock as I do. I now may just drop the $120.00 on a field stock to try out for kicks.
  5. Well, 'minimal' is a subjective term. In my case meaning, minimal accoutrements added to my gun as in ONE, rather than a few. I don't need lights because, I have X-ray vision and can also see in the dark.
  6. Hey all, I'm interested to know what your opinions are between the two OEM M4 stocks. I'm interested to know from those who have experience shooting the M4 with them both. I am very happy with the OEM pistol grip stock that mine came with. From the moment I first picked it up and shouldered the gun, it just fit me perfectly and felt 'right'. The LOP, the balance, immediate sight acquisition, everything. It seems to me that the pistol grip type stocks aid in controlling the guns under recoil more so than a field stock does. Am I wrong? Anyone here who has had the same experience as me with the OEM pistol grip stock and has tried the field stock? Differences between the two? Just wondering out loud here and curious to hear from anyone who's has tried both.
  7. I'm a minimalist when it comes to mine, I just have the Tactical Shotgun Solutions rail and 6-shell side saddle and that's it. No sling, or light for me. In my case, I just don't have the need for anything else.
  8. I think that people who post info like that have done mods to their guns, and are having some kind of issue, and can't figure out what to blame it on. I don't see how something attached to the non-moving part of the receiver could have any effect on the operating system. It makes no sense. If you install a red dot sight on the rail for instance, is that going to make the gun jam up? That being said, there is a nicer system available here;https://tacticalshotgun.solutions/Benelli-M4-Short-Picatinny-Rail.html I use it on mine with zero issues and member here ohbejuan uses one also as well as others here I think. The shell carrier attaches and removes from the gun with a push button mechanism from the companion Picatinny rail mount and slides forward to lock and reward to remove. Watch the video to see how it works. It's the slickest of shell carrier systems IMO. It's a beautifully machined piece and unlike the Mesa system, you don't have to remove the shells from the carrier because the shell retention system is a spring loaded ball bearing rather than a piece of compressible rubber as the Mesa system uses. And if you want to remove it, you just press the button and slide the carrier and shells off. I have a Mesa side saddle on my 590A1 and was ready to buy one for my M4 when I luckily saw this thread and bought this one instead.;http://forums.benelliusa.com/showthr...asgard+defense
  9. Yeah, I think it was established in another thread that it's the same company, just changed their name or something. 'Asgard Defense/Tactical Shotgun Solutions'. Go for it if you like. http://forums.benelliusa.com/showthread.php/32881-Sidearmor?highlight=asgard+defense
  10. Gee...I don't know. Black or black? You have the 'Tactical Shotgun Solutions' shell holder and rail, right? I have them too, and if it were me, I would leave them with the original finish. YMMV:)
  11. Sweet! You'll love the look. Before I bought one, when I was still drooling over them, I happened to see the H20 version on GB and, I knew then that I wouldn't be happy with the standard model after seeing the H20. Post a pic when you get it back!
  12. Second that. It will look better to have that piece coated.
  13. Yeah, reminds me of myself, with my obsession with M14 type rifles.
  14. Yes, VERY nice collection of guns. Can never go wrong collecting quality firearms. Contrary to most people, I prefer heavier weapons. Helps dampen recoil, I don't do those 3-gun run around a course shooting trials, and I will never be a 'bug out' type of person in some 'SHTF scenario', where supposedly one will be humping guns, ammo, food and water over hill and dale. So, IMHO, if you are only going to own ONE Benelli, the M4 is it. Reliability, and heavier, stouter built guns, are what I prefer. And most importantly.....just look at those four guns....which one is the handsomest, most coolest looking? Why, the M4 is, hands down. I really dig the sharp angled drop from the receiver to the stock as opposed to the rounded end of the receiver.
  15. I think that his question was in the context of comparing the tactical model M2 with the M4, not the M2 field gun.
  16. I think that if you can swallow the cost of the total refinish, you should go for it. 450 is a lot of money to me but, I really like the NP3 on this gun. I would do the whole gun but keep the rail and shell holder black. But that's how mine looks so I am biased.
  17. I don't believe that there are any issues. That thread link indicates to me that something else was going on with that gun. And, the OP just disappeared and never followed up in the thread. I called Robar and asked them about "issues". They said that they have never known of any problems being caused by their coating on any of the firearms they apply it to, not just the M4. I take them at their word on it. I don't have any problems with mine. If there were more than a couple of supposed "issues" with NP3 and tolerance stacking, don't you think that people would be whining about it all over the internet? That's what happens.
  18. I really like my H20. I bought my mag tube from FFT because they are the only ones so far who offer a NP3 finished tube. Do you have a raw ti tube or is it parked?
  19. Curious, what did they quote you to make an H20 M4?
  20. Here's one. Looks like it would work for an M4, but I don't know. I suggest calling them and also Brownells and Trulock, who makes chokes for Benelli. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/992743/carlsons-extended-rifled-choke-tube-beretta-benelli-mobil-12-gauge-black?cm_vc=ProductFinding
  21. Thanks Jim, but are not those sharp edges of the Picatinny rails kinda hard on your hands under recoil? In any case, a little too costly for me, but thanks for the info anyway.
  22. Is this what you need? http://www.brownells.com/search/index.htm?k=benelli+choke+tubes&ksubmit=y http://www.midwayusa.com/find?userSearchQuery=benelli+choke+tubes Give them a call and talk to one of their gun techs.
  23. That's interesting about the recoil spring being different. I suppose the Mil. spec. must dictate that, but I wonder why?
  24. Yeah, obviously I didn't know. That stock looks similar to the one that does collapse. At a glance, I thought it was the same. So, are there any other differences besides the stock, the barrel being chromed and no removable choke?
  25. So what is the diff. from the M4 besides the chrome lined barrel without removable choke, and the collapsable stock and maybe being marked "U.S. Property"? Are they any?
