  1. Does anyone have a Benelli M4 field stock they would be willing to trade for my OEM Pistol grip stock (non-collapsible) or selling it to me? The first thing I bought for my M4 (5 years ago) was a collapsible stock. And I love it and would never get rid of it. However, I sometimes want to take my M4 to my local sporting clays just for fun (I know its not the ideal shotgun), but the place does not allow pistol grips or collapsible stocks. If I had an M4 field stock that I can just throw on whenever I want to shoot clays, that'd be awesome, but I can't seem to find them anywhere online. So Yeah, if anyone can sell me one (or trade for my not collapsible pistol grip stock), that would be awesome. Thanks!
  2. I know I'm late, but just wanted to give my input since I just tried my red dot with skeet shooting. It did not make me better, but it did not make me worse. If I was forced to pick, I would use just the ghost ring sights if I'm ONLY shooting skeet. However, if a shotgun is for skeet AND home defense, I'll take the red dot. Ps. Also should note that my "red dot" is actually trijicon's 12 moa green triangle reticle. So maybe my experience wouldn't be the same if it was actually a small red dot.
  3. Rear and front both worked fine for me. Make sure you use loctite on the front post.
  4. I didn't know StrangerDanger was a Doctor who has patients! I do know he has a lot of patience though!
  5. I don't think it's possible without a LOT of gunsmithing. You'll probably end up liking the ghost ring sights more too. I was the same way, but one day of shooting clays with the ghost ring changed my mind. It's so much better than a bead.
  6. I think some people just get unlucky. My M4 ran light loads without any issue from day 1, but I've read about a lot of people experiencing what you are. Because mine runs fine, I never tried a lighter spring. My only small suggestion would be to also make certain you have a good shooting stance. A weak shooting stance might throw you back just enough to not give the light loads enough recoil. Your stance might be perfect, I'm not assuming anything. But just wanted to put it out there just in case. Hopefully someone else here will be able to speak on lighter springs.
  7. My reason for not buying NFA items is that the NFA is highly unconstitutional and when people follow it, they are basically telling the government that what they are doing is ok.
  8. I have the same Carlson's muzzle brake as the first guy who replied. Looks cool, but did back to back shots with it on and off and notice zero recoil difference at all.
  9. My upgrades in the order I got them: (Answer to question 5 I guess) - *Benelli Collapsible stock - *7rnd Mag Tube (USA Made, +US Follower, +US Handguard, +US Hammer - to attain 922r compliance. ?) - Tritium inserts for Ghost Ring sights - MatchSaver for an extra shell - *IWC Light Mount - *Modlite PLHv2 on the IWC - *Blue Force Gear Sling - *Bigger charging handle - Stippled my handguard myself (first time I ever stippled and came out great. Super easy to do) - Trijicon RMR on a ScalarWorks Mount The items with the asterisk in front are MY choice for "must have" upgrades. Answer to question 1 and 2: It's hard to beat the ergonomical feel of the stock handguard, which is why I went with a US made clone that feels the exact same. I've held the gun with other handguards and they just aren't as good in my opinion. Answer to question 3: After firing over 2,000 shells through my M4, from the cheapest/lightest target loads to heavy magnum loads, not a single one failed or misfired, unless I was letting a friend shoot and they let the recoil throw them back so the next round didn't cycle. Note that I clean my gun after every 100 shells or so, which could explain the results. My home defense shells are Hornady Critical Defense 00 Buckshot. I also can consistently hit an 8 inch gong at 100 yards with any slugs I have tried. I may miss 1 shot because the slug flies different than the one I sighted it in for, but once I see where I missed, I can adjust and hit 3 times in a row. The slugs I have recently been using are Federal Premium. Answer to question 4: The stock Ghost Ring sights are really great. For low light, you can get the same sights with tritium inserts. They will get most jobs done. But, if a red dot is what you want, I prefer a Trijicon RMR because you can use the ScalarWorks mount, which is very slick and just low enough to barely co-witness the ghost rings in case of sight failure. You can also technically use a Holosun with the ScalarWorks mount (though not sure how well the co-witness is with it). Lastly, an upgrade I kinda recommend but don't have myself yet, is an extended bolt release. That's probably the next (and final) upgrade I'll do... for now...
  10. The blue "fuck up" has been around for a long time. Here is one in this youtube video from 4 years ago, and I have a friend who had one like it from factory in like 2012. It's always been a thing for some to be blue, not really a quality control flaw, as it doesn't affect the quality of the gun. All that being said, I do understand that if you want a black gun, it could be upsetting to not receive one. Benelli should just start actually labelling the ones that turn out blue as such, and then sell them as that separately from the black ones.
  11. Mine is blue, but I cerakoted it. Lol.
  12. So I finally bought a modlite to replace my cheap olight on my M4. There is only one "issue" and its not that big of a deal, but I would like to know if it happens to anyone else and how I can fix it. With my flashlight off, if I bring the bolt back, and send it forward, the force makes the light turn on for an extremely small fraction of a second. It does this probably 75% of the time whenever the bolt flies back forward. It does this both empty, and when live firing. As I said, this isn't a huge issue, since when it does this while firing the gun, it's not like it would give away my position or anything because the muzzle flash is brighter anyway. But for battery saving purposes, is there any way to stop the flickering on when shooting/sending the bolt forward? It is the modlite PLHv2 with modlite body and stock modlite clicky tailcap. I am thinking maybe there is a slightly better aftermarket tailcap that might fix it? I would like to keep a clicky tailcap that's momentary when not full click, if possible.
