  1. Thanks, B's told me they're brass. However, one has to wonder why a magnet sticks to them? There has to be enough steel in there to attract a magnet. To my knowledge brass is comprised of copper and zinc. Neither are "magnetic" as far as I know.
  2. I have some B's snap caps and to my dismay I just found out the casing portion is not brass. They appear to be some kind of plated steel. I've dropped a few during ejection and the edges of some have been roughed up. Just a little concerned that this might be too rough on the inside of certain mag tubes (titanium, carbon fiber, plastic). Need to find some better quality brass snap caps.
  3. I found the range panda cover to be too rigid for my liking. I prefer the dream plastics covers. I have pretty much new range panda covers if your interested.
  4. Double check your manual. It should have come with a modified choke from the factory. I believe the manual states to use nothing tighter than improved cylinder when shooting slugs. Many others have reported no issues using the modified. For my purposes I installed the improved cylinder so I don't have to worry about changing chokes.
  5. That's pretty darn good! How easy was it for you to control the depth/pressure? Fumes/smell?
  6. This is a great tool. It doesn't list A&S trigger housings. I don't think they were making them back then.
  7. I believe you only need 1 more US made part. When you increase capacity beyond 5 rounds you need to add 3 US parts. 1.) FFT Mag Tube - you have 2.) FFT Follower - you have 3.) ? Your choice (plenty of options available but not always in stock)
  8. Trigger housing SPF. The H2O safety is still available.
  9. Will do. I sent them a couple photos with an quick note. I'm just looking for an exchange. I'm sure they'll make it right. I tend to be ultra finicky when it comes to my stuff. That's why I wanted to check with the group first to make sure I wasn't being too picky. I'm not looking to spew venom towards A&S. I love what they do!
  10. I have another one and it's like buttah. This one surprised me a little. They just came off back order a day after I placed my order. Hopefully, it's just an example of one that slipped by. They seem like good guys that take pride in what they do. Usually, their stuff is top notch. The area that's not visible when installed is no big deal but outside of the loading ramp area there are a few chatter marks. The anodizing seems a little speckled too but I can live with that.
  11. Ok, thanks for the confirmation. I hate to be that guy but usually their stuff is pretty clean. I looked at an OEM M4 aluminum housing and the areas that are visible when installed are smooth everywhere. The other side of this A&S has a little bit but not as much as this side. I guess I’ll reach out to them and see what the exchange process is like. In the photo it actually looks a little better because I wiped some oil on it first to see if it was “just me”.
  12. Funny you ask this about the GG&G. I was wondering the same thing last week so I inquired. A rep from GG&G told me they were the same. I don't know what they have a separate Manf#. I inquired because I noticed GG&G was out of the M4 button and the "other one" on their site. Online, other retailers stock it but I couldn't find any that had the ggg 1030 m4 part number. The ggg 1030 is GTG. The guy at GG&G said they have been waiting for OEM Benelli shell latches to make more. They say they have been delayed 45-70 days.
  13. I just received a new A&S trigger housing. The anodizing looked a little weird but not a huge deal. Upon further inspection I noticed the visible area of the housing has several tooling marks on it. I don’t think it’s horrible but I was a little disappointed. Am I being too critical here?
  14. Cool, thx. I knew about the Magpul stocks but didn't know they made hand guards. I'd like to know how they fit it. That HG is for an AK. The only thing I don't like about the extension clamp is you have to unscrew everything just to take the shotty apart. I think the extension being small would probably be fine without the clamp. However, then you lose the sling mount and rail for a light.
  15. I see Nordic sells the mag extension and clamp. I'm just trying to figure out what everyone is adding for 922r compliance. I don't see a lot of options out there and as far as I know the tube extension doesn't count. I suppose you could find a follower and a Mesa stock. Still need a 3rd part I believe. Trying to figure it out for future reference. The 1301 is on my short to medium term list.
  16. Both are used but in great shape. The housing has a few marks on it but will look great when installed. The safety has some slight dent wear but full functional and looks new once installed. OEM M4 aluminum trigger housing. $120.00 shipped OEM M4 original factory H2O NP3 plated safety. $35.00 shipped Payments accepted: USPS Money Order, PP F&F or add 3.5% if doing PayPal goods & Services. (Discreet no notes/comments). Venmo is also accepted but add 2% if your prompted to use goods and services. Also, be discreet in the Venmo comments if required (something that doesn't indicate a good or service).
  17. Lol, sorry man. You may just be able to buy the tips you need if they'll thread into your soldering iron.
  18. I applaud you for wanting to try. It's something I've always wanted to experiment with. I have no experience but if I was going to do it I'd look here. https://store.otdefense.com/collections/stippling-products?page=1 The tools will probably cost as much as having someone do it for you. However, you'll have the benefit of owning the proper equipment to do it time and time again the right way.
  19. Not to derail but I really like the checkering on the FFT bolt release. I just wish he had made the screw hole off set like the GG&G release. See how the FFT version slightly overlaps the bevel on the receiver. I like how the GG&G version allows for some space there if you choose. Just my opinion.
  20. I’ve been meaning to post my not so scientific bolt handle comparisons for a while. I’ve been slacking but this seems like the perfect thread. In the photo below we have FFT NP3 steel charging handle, Benelli M4 OEM, KZ NP3 steel charging handle and a new revision TTI charging handle. By measuring with calipers I gathered some rough data. I measured from receiver facing side of the handle to the end of the shaft where it engages the detent inside of the carrier. Take these figure with a grain of salt but I believe they are a pretty close representation. Again this is from the receiver end of the handle (the part where the shaft begins) to the end of the shaft. In inches. FFT: 1.172 BM4 OEM: 1.184 KZ: 1.19 TTI: 1.21 My motivation for doing this was due to the fact that I perceived the FFT handle to sit quite close to the receiver. I noticed that if I inserted it with a little too much force it comes in contact with the receiver. This is not a knock against FFT or their handle. It’s just my personal experience and one could even say possible operator error on my part. In any event I wasn’t comfortable with the close proximity of the handle to the receiver. Todd sells oodles of these. Just some food for thought. As you can see from these examples in this particular “experiment” I found the TTI handle to have the most clearance or buffer if you will.
  21. I might have one available.
  22. This is a 5 round OEM steel tube and limiter plated in NP3+. It had about 90 ish rounds through it before it was plated by Wright Armory as part of a build. It's basically a take off. No rounds have been run through it after plating. You'll see a slight variation in the hue between the tube and limiter. That's just the difference of the tube having steel as a base metal and the limiter aluminum. It has a very slight wear mark where the mag tube cap was installed but you're going to get that anyway. It could be a cool addition to provide contrast to your black M4. Maybe you want a NP3+ tube on your cerakote H2O M4. Or, a nice piece for a SBS project. It's absolutely beautiful. $300 shipped priority mail with tracking. Will accept USPS money order, PP friends & Family or add 3.5% if not using F&F. I can also do Venmo but I think they are getting a 3.5% VIG now so please add that if Venmo'ing.
  23. I'm really digging that 1301. The OD green is looking sweet. Thinking about selling my REAL H20 NP3'd M4 and starting over with the 1301 and a bare bones M4.
  24. My solution was to get ride of the darn thing. I liked the shorter foot print but between fitment and the hokey screw in the stock, forget it. I know many, many people swear by Mesa Tactical but for me I just don't see it. Perhaps they do a better job on their other products, idk.
  25. When I ordered mine I put a message in the note field requesting the new version. It worked.
