  1. The white ring around them really seems to pop. Definitely more pronounced than the OEM Benelli and Meprolight NS. There shouldn't be any reason that you can't just send in the sights only. The problem is that when they need to be replaced in 10-12 years you can't just purchase $100 Trijicons. You have to shell out another $265 and have Tooltech redo them. That I see as a deal breaker. They should offer replacements at half price.
  2. Haha, that’s what I finally did. I grabbed one of my AR roll pin holders and the pin protruded just enough to get it seated. I was giving it light taps after that. I didn’t want to drive it into the side of the disconnector and deform anything. Once I had alignment I started putting a little more force on it. Still crazy tight. I think I had some tolerance stacking going on with the NP3.
  3. That disconnector pin can be a real SOB to install. I just installed a FFT group with an NP3 plated disconnector pin. Tight is an understatement.
  4. It's not advisable to use Blue Loctite on that stock retention screw correct? Just screw it in until it bottoms out and seat the ring.
  5. Those look good. I was considering ordering a pair like that but I was concerned about getting the proper size to fit correctly. That pin ring has a very narrow opening. I recently ordered a pair from McMaster Carr and I was pleasantly surprised. The description is non existent but they turned out to be the same ones that FFT sells. Imperial IR-38 made in USA. McMaster #5415A61 They are smaller than I thought but so far they have been excellent. I've only used them on the Magazine Spring Seal Ring and Trigger Guard Pin Retaining Ring and they were tremendous. They real test will be the trigger guard pin ring. The big win was they were $25.23 delivered to my door. FFT sells them for $25 before the $13 shipping and Amazon sells them for over $30 with tax/shipping (no prime because it's a 3rd party seller). I don't know if it's due to my proximity to their warehouse but I always receive my McMaster orders in roughly 2 days. It is a roll of the dice where things are made when ordering from them. One part or item is made in China and another will be US made. Overall I feel like I lucked out on this one. If anyone was considering the IR-38's McMaster seems to be the best deal around.
  6. Briley states that their colored charging handles are 2 piece. I'm wondering if they all are of if the silver is a one piece design? It seems they are all 2 piece.
  7. Definitely have SD do your tear down and reassemble. Otherwise, you might be sorry. Very sorry.
  8. I have Starrett punches, Grace roll pin punches, Grace brass bunches, Whia and Borka torque tools. I’d still like to get a set of dedicated screw drivers. The Wheeler set I have is cheesey and I usually use the Borka bits in it because they are much better quality. That PB stuff looks pretty good. I think Grace makes a decent set of dedicated screw drivers but they aren’t cheap and not that many sizes in the set.
  9. The ones that I have, I ordered from MWG. They cam in the Benelli packaging. I think they are made by Trulock.
  10. I really appreciate that. Right now I'm trying to iron out the damage issue with them. I'm not sure how that will be done yet but I'd like to somehow route it to you afterwards.
  11. Yes, the choke tube that comes installed with it does. However, I've purchased 2 Benelli brand Improved Cylinder chokes and they didn't have the notches.
  12. Just got my M4 back in hand. No notches on that choke either. Weird....again.
  13. I will say other than the issue it looks amazing. They plated the heck out of everything. The entire trigger pack is all NP3's except for 2 roll pins. The carrier and bolt head is completely plated. In the factory H2O they left the bolt head chromed. They even plated the barrel extension. You can see where they re staked the ejector etc. It's a shame FedEx boogered it up.
  14. I don't think you can NP3 over JB Weld.
  15. Got the M4 back today and all I can say is I'm horrified. I'm going to give them the opportunity to correct the issues first. Due to it not being packaged the same way I sent it in damage occurred. Compounded with a couple minor issues I'm not happy. The damage is stomach turning. I don't even know if it's fixable.
  16. Thanks for letting me know. I don’t thing my Briley wrench could have worn them off. I was awfully careful both were brand new. Mine isn’t black either. I‘ve always wondered why the ones that come with the M4s are but the Benelli chokes sold separately aren’t. Weird.
  17. Does anyone have a good source for SF light heads? I picked up my last one at Optics Planet with a coupon. I'm just wondering if I'm missing a less expensive option.
  18. I may have partially answered my own question. It appears that you can not use: Lithium CR123 cells in the modlite body. They seem to be Surefire DF specific.
  19. I think I'm going to move my M300 to something else and grab a M600 for the B M4. What is the better light body option out of the two for the SF M600? Backbone body or Modlite 18650? I have the Backbone for my M300 and it seems to have more versatility in terms of mounting positions. I'm just wondering what the benefit of choosing the Modlite would be over the BB?
  20. Was it the new version that SD is showing?
  21. It's funny. That did cross my mind. LOL They have been very responsive through email and pretty easy to deal with.
  22. I hope so for your sake. Based on my "repair ticket" one month was probably reassembly time. I'm not sure how long disassembly took, maybe another month? You might be looking at 4 - 5 months. Honestly, I don't care if it took 10 months as long as everything was done well and they didn't booger anything. I'm a little nervous on what I'm going to see when I open that box.. I'm trying to think positive though. ? On another order I sent in components that didn't require disassembly/assembly. That took 5 months.

    Carbon fiber M4

Watching him load that was painful. Where is his CF mag tube?
