Hey All,

I just noticed that Sidearmor has added some new products to their line, including, a new rail system with some more options like solid or channeled rails

also some additional shell carrier options, with 2,6 and 8 shell carriers now available

They are also offering their own 30mm optics mount too

another question: now they offer the choice between cut-out-channel rail or "in spec" rail. with the first version of the rail it would be pretty hard to see the front sight without a cut out channel.

ms costa said that it is possible to see it without the channel, though it might be a little obscured.

anyone with the NEW version and without the channel could post some pics?

I once did a little test by placing paper over the rail on my M4; and I had no problem finding and lining up the front sight. However, that was just the standard-length rail. I did not consider the effect of an non-channeled rail the length of the Sidearmor rail ... I'd like to see that too.

no you don't, it will stay on forever!

the sidearmor rail sits a little higher than the standard rail, and i tried it with paper today as well!

you can still see the front dot, but not really well. i'm gonna go with the 6mm channel, it's smaller than the previous one anyway, which was about 8 to 9 mm.

See the knob on the front left side? Loosen it and remove the magazine cap. The barrel then pulls free. It's tool free. The only negative is the weight. Removal of the factory top rail will cut an ounce. Add a to tube to cut 5 ounces.

This will reduce the weight penalty. The shell carrier is the best design. However, the weight of the added shells is steep.

Whatever you plan on mounting, select lighter items. Ounces add into pounds very quickly.
