Randy L. Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Original Patternmaster. Factory.....modified. Quote
Bowhunter82 Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Depends on what kind of shots you are planning on taking and what kind of shells you are using. I use modified most of the time, but use improved when I know the ducks are going to be in my face. I also use improved when I'm shooting high density tungsten loads because they pattern super tight anyways. Pattern your chokes with different loads, and swap chokes out depending on where/what you are hunting. Quote
DDragon Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Factory Improved with Hevi-Metal #3's in my Vinci. Quote
justinprince12 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 i use carlson's full or my factory modified depending on what kind of shots i will be planning on taking. i bring both with and when ducks are fully locked and loaded i just keep modified in, and when they seem weary to fully commit i use the full Quote

Feather Buster Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 i use accu steel extended full for #BB,#1,#2(this is what the choke has printed on it)i doubt that it is the same I.D. as "lead" full chokes.but anyway it works great out to 40 yards with #2 steel.not a big believer in high dollar shot shells.they kill ducks, but so will the cheap stuff. tucker301 Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Black Cloud Midrange. I did miss a couple of teal yesterday, but they were @ 6 yards and turning upside down and sideways. Quote

rbreedi1 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 I prefer a Briley Light Modified in my M2. Quote
GTPSC Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Don't want to be a blatant promoter here, but might I suggest taking a look at the BlackBore HunterPro HV chokes! They are fine for steel usage and will prevent the wad from interfering with the shot column to eliminate flyers. As has been said, the choke used depends on the load and distance (close in, circling the decoys or flying over for a look)! Pattern the choke you use and your favored loads to see what works best. k way Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 i prefer to use i.c. with #4 or even #5 steel for ducks. of course I also believe in calling them in where almost all of my shots are within 30 yards. seem to have enough where I'm not crippling ducks, but I'm not tearing them up either. Quote
