I'm interested in the IWC light mount a lot of members seem to have/ use. My main hesitation is what prevents marring of the tube finish ? Is there some type of rubber material lining the contact area. Also, I have a Streamlight TLR-1 I would like to mount on the gun. It has a built in pic rail mount so I presume I would just need to purchase a pic rail adapter for the IWC mount?

Thanks in advance for opinions

Marks on your M4 are like scars on people… dead sexy. Word to the wise though, loctite the sh*t out of the hardware as it otherwise loosens with use.

I suppose you could put a thin coat of clear silicone like a gasket between the two, that would help with any scuffing. But I don't think there is any really. It's not moving around to cause wear.

I have an as new mount with the rail that needs a new home FWIW.

The IWC mount doesn't even touch the magazine tube so it cannot cause marring of the magazine tube. If you have any concern of it marring where it does connect to, you could always use some clear tape for instance between the mounting surface and the mount.
