  1. Wrong pad Tucker. On the Super Sport, I think it's the same Gel Pad as on the Beretta Gel Tek guns. I think there is a metal clasp somewhere at the bottom of the pad. If you pull down on the clasp, it releases the pad. "The Gel-Tek recoil pad features a patented retaining clasp system that permits the easy and fast application and removal of the pad." mudhen - CA
  2. I'll always love the Cards. We lived behind Lou Brock's flower shop in the late 60's. CA has maybe a million acres of rice, at least 1/2 flooded each fall to decomp the rice straw. They outlawed 99.99% of burning the straw because of pollution & health reasons. Decomp is good & bad. Good to have a place to hunt, but the birds now are mostly disinterested and just sleep, eat, and sheit in untouchable areas of rice. A natural club near the rice is the best spot as the ducks like the marshes during daylight hours and feed in the rice at night. But we have our good rice days on occasion... mudhen - CA

    Turkey Loads

For my SBE II, the best load is the Winchester Extended Range #6, 3.5", through a .660 1.5" Rhino choke tube. I shot 150-170 rounds through eight different chokes to come up with that combination. The word 'cheaper' does not factor in to any of my hunting situations. The words 'the most effective way to respectfully kill a precious game animal' do factor into my hunting situations. mudhen - CA
  4. Yes. My club has a resident group that lives there. We shoot a few. They don't generally decoy well. Thank gawd for a January 29 close - January is our best month usually. I shot my first ducks in Missouri - Fountain Grove - lived in StL for 15 years... mudhen - CA

    SBEII Assembly

Thanks so much for your insight My SBE II went together fine. All of my Benellis over the last 15 years have gone together fine. If you can't put together a Benelli without the manual, you maybe shouldn't own a gun mudhen - CA
  8. I also buy mag springs from Wolffe Springs - a new one every 2-3 seasons. I buff the mag tube at the same time - Brownells sells a mag tube brush. www.gunsprings.com mudhen - CA
  9. Yes. Breakfree CLP. mudhen - CA
  10. C&H will take care of you. He knows all about what part fits in the stocks & mags. I would buy a mag tube one to replace the plug & a stock nut version. You'll need to buy the thinner one to fit in the SII stock. Just call them. mudhen - CA
  11. I use the 25%+. www.gunsprings.com mudhen - CA
  12. Closes Jan 29th or whatever the last Sunday in January is. There are some great ponds & marshes on bases, check with them. Otherwise, most guys hunt the SoCal refuges. The vast majority of the hunting is in the Sacramento Valley. mudhen - CA

    SBE 11 Parts

You must be new here! This place is our sandbox to poop in - it's not a conduit to CS. CS will handle it I bet - but you need to call the warranty repair department - I got the new choke tube wrench in just a few days. mudhen - CA
  14. Just getting warmed up here in Cali. We hunt hard in January. I'll get out 20 or so days from here to the close. mudhen - CA
  15. I called Benelli the other day looking for a D drop shim for the SBE II. I get about 60/40 with the C and I'd like 50/50 for my flat rice field shooting. They answered the phone on the 2nd ring. Now, a D drop is not available for the SBE II, but they were very courteous on the phone. This is the same treatment I've been getting from Benelli for almost 15 years. If the part does not exist (ever or yet) why biatch? Deal with it and look for an aftermarket part. Another example is Kent Cartridge Company. They bevel the edges on some of their shells. I spent $800 on Matrix this year only to find out it slipped out of the Benelli magazine due to the also beveled edge on my Benelli cartridge latch Kent can't change their shells just for me and Benelli can't change their latch just for Kent. So instead of throwing a hissy fit on the internet,I just spent 30 seconds with a Dremel and flattened out the cartridge latch. Problem fixed. I guess even if you make the best product out there, you will never please everyone mudhen - CA
  16. Benelli should offer whatever pattern a customer asks for. Geesh! Peformance Worth the Price? I think not. I want Long Grain Rice Camo, and Short Grain Rice Camo, and then I'd like a Wild Rice Camo. For $1500 I should get whatever I want mudhen - CA
  17. My next purchase will be a Winchester Super X3 or a Beretta Xtrema II, maybe one of each. A Browning Silver Hunter may also be added. I needs a gassy gun... mudhen - CA

The French lady has one in her hands in the "Benelli 800" post on page 2 of this forum. mudhen - CA

    New Nova??

Funny thing about gun dealers, they don't let me scan much from their files! I'm sure photos will be out any day... mudhen - CA

    New Nova??

Saw pictures tonight in the 2006 Dealer Book. Kinda funky looking - but I bet it's going to be a big hit! mudhen - CA
  23. At the same time, I would build a polishing brush from a bore brush, steel wool, and a section of cleaning rod. I run that up and down the tube with some metal polish using a power drill. Keeps that tube slick. Bootster's info is all good. mudhen - CA
  24. Plat Tips have been working well for me for a few seasons now. Not a Benelli shot, but a Plat Tip shot from my Omega ML @ 39 yards on a heavy doe: Lost the outer jacket, but the core did it's job well. mudhen - CA

    New Nova??

The Super Nova is due out soon. I have heard that it has a ComfortTech stock, Crio barrel & choke tubes, and a slimmer design. Other than that, I know nothing... mudhen - CA
