  1. turkey22, Yours was just the latest in a string of recent PM's asking what should have been public questions. I didn't single you out. You took it upon yourself to do that. And you shouldn't apologize to me as much as you should the other members. By favoring me with your question, you've told them that you don't think they have anything to offer. That's not the case, not by a long shot. The greatest benefit of asking such a question publicly is that it then becomes part of the history of these forums, making it available for others to find through the search feature without having to ask it again. It also gets the issue out there for the Benelli employees and management to see. Yes, I can assure you, they do read and participate in these forums. If they can't see these issues they can't make improvements and modifications to fix them. Please post your question in a new thread to the Benelli forum and I'm sure you'll receive some good advice.
  2. Please do not send me PM's regarding general firearms questions that could be posted on the forums publicly. The forum is designed so that we ALL share and benefit from our discussions. Privately asking me a question deprives other readers of valuable information and it deprives you of the collective knowledge and wisdom of all members.
  3. The ports will reduce muzzle jump somewhat, but reduce recoil very little. They will be louder, but not as bad as the BOSS system, which is closer to the shooter and being a rifle, louder to begin with.
  4. 2004 No SBEII's were made with solid synthetic stocks. Either you have an SBE or someone has switched the stocks.
  5. Kickeez KZ-111. If that's not enough, add a mercury recoil reducer from C&H Research

  7. I'm holding out for something with a bit more oomph. Perhaps one of those new Barret .416's. You CQC guys can have all that stuff. I'm liking the idea thumping something at a mile and a half
  8. If you're going to get a semi-auto on a budget, go for the Remington SPR453 / Baikal MP153. Otherwise, the Nova's the clear choice for reliability and durability over the M2000.
  9. The collapsible makes the gun more portable and easier to cloak. That's why The People's Republic of California don't like them. They'd prefer that law-abiding citizens not be able to conceal powerful weapons. Criminals generally don't obey laws, so it doesn't bother them too much.
  10. You forgot to count two Great pictures. Looks like it was a great season for you guys!
  11. Impactguns is $369. Don't pay more than $400 anywhere.
  12. Almost got it. There is a means by which you can edit the post, rather than reposting for each correction
  13. Obviously not, because there's on there right now.
  14. Very nice! Remember to deduct the bullet diameter from the overall group size to compute the true group size. If you haven't already done so, disassemble the gun and re-assemble, then test for zero. A lot of R1's would lose zero when taken apart and put back together.
  15. Shaw makes good quality rifle barrels, so I'd expect the slug barrel to be of decent quality as well. I used to get 4" groups at 100 with a smoothbore (early to mid 80's), so it's gotta be better than that.
  16. Here's why. Epsiode 3
  17. I believe it's 8-40, but call Weaver or Benelli to confirm before drilling and tapping. You could also buy the base first and go from there. Weaver 93 Do the obvious things regarding good machine work. Press, padded vise, measure twice, cut once, punch to index.... Weaver Mounts P.O. Box 39 Onalaska, WI 54650 1-800-635-7656
  18. Barrel length makes little difference with regard to velocity and pattern, but it does help with targeting in wingshooting. If you're talking about Canada geese, then you'll need to be able to restrict the gun's capacity to 2 + 1. If you're talking about snows, then you may not need to limit the capacity. Check local regulations carefully. If still in doubt, contact a local game officer for clarification.

    Dipping problem?

What I mean by clear poly sealer is a polyeurethane or similar product. Nail polish would also work. I use the high gloss stuff on my toes, because they don't show while in the blind or on the stand.

    Dipping problem?

The film didn't get a good bite into the corners. Option: Prep w/ alcohol and apply a small amount of clear poly sealer on the edges to keep it from peeling anymore. Option: Call Benelli CS and ask them to fix it under warranty. They will, but you'll have to send the barrel assembly in and be without for a while. Option: Ignore it. It's no big deal.
