I think you two are looking at the same issue from two different vantages. The Benelli shim kit WILL change the POI, if the shooter shoulders the weapon and sights it in a natural manner, as in typical wingshooting. The same shooter, given a certain amount of time to do so, could alter his grip and position if trying to sight the weapon as one would typically do a rifle. Even if that's the case, I can see a marked advantage to using the shim kit to bring the natural mount as close as possible to the adjusted mount. If I were having a patterning problem with my SBEII when shooting turkeys, I'd most certainly remedy the situation by mounting a red dot of some kind. I would not want to have the stock permanently altered from its current setup, however because it wingshoots (points) beautifully. I choose the shims by using this test. Pick a target on a wall or whatever, close eyes and shoulder the gun to try and acquire the target, open eyes. When you open your eyes and are on target, you have adjusted you natural POI and POA to closely match. This way, you're not shouldering the gun and then making subtle, but time-consuming adjustments to get on target. The Benelli shim kit is made to allow most shooters to be able to make these tweaks themselves, without the added expense of professional fitting. The shim kit assumes the shooter is of averarge build and sights a shotgun as does most the population, with both eyes opened and the target clearly visible above the rib and bead. I recommend that both the OP and HH watch the first two videos on this page. [ 05-07-2006, 01:31 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

Try to keep oils and solvents off the camo parts. Clean them with a damp cloth and a mild detergent.

Cool! Post a pic if you have one. There's a thread in the turkey section.

Of course I can say whatever I want. You posted here in an effort to promote your product, and that's fine. But don't expect us to act like mindless cattle and throw our hard-earned cash at you. I can take a video camera on my next goose outing and show you how they suck right into our water spread, but that doesn't make the decoys worth more than what the market will bear. Sure, there are some dimwits who believe that the more you pay, the better the product, but that's not what Benelli is about and it's certainly not my way of doing things. Good luck with your product.

A siskr walks into a bar. The bartender looks him over and says, "So, why the long face?" /insert "bah-dump-bump" sound effect here/ I never knew you could catch mudhen's by trolling

Until I saw this, I hadn't realized how much weight I've lost since the surgery. As for you, kid... Proper English is important, so it would actually be "I'm bigger than he". The way you test it is simple. I'm bigger. He's bigger. Him's bigger. See how it works out? Furthermore, size wouldn't deter me one bit from swatting you like a bug

OK. Well, I don't know why I look like a dorky 12 yr. old Dorf in this, but here's a picture of the bird we got today. My buddy Tommy on the gun and me on the call He wasn't huge, we didn't weigh, and didn't measure the beard or the spurs. PS: Duplin Blackberry Wine is great!

Bottom line. I like the product and the idea, but the price is absolutely too high. Like I said, put some on ebay with no reserve and see what they bring. No better way of seeing what people are willing to pay.
-
If the price is fair, and they're selling so well, then why did you come here fishing for an opening to post about them? If you're barely making a profit at this sale price, then you've got some serious overhead and supplier management problems. [ 05-05-2006, 01:45 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

Nice try, but turkeys were hunted in VA before anyone even knew there was a Mispelledippi.

HH, Judging from the pictures I've seen posted here for last couple of years, I'd say that mudhen needs no lessons on turkey or wingshooting. We've seen these "my gun don't shoot where I aim" posts come and go in this forum. Almost always, it's a case of the user not understanding how to adjust his weapon or how to adjust himself to the proper form.

I spent right at $80/dozen, and they're floaters. I bought all of mine on ebay. Most were used/abused, and I repainted and flocked them.
-
Yeah, it's kind of like a kite. Hunting over water, I'd have to drive stakes into the mud or use anchors. I like the looks of the RG decoys too, but the price is way up there. If I may suggest, they should put a few on ebay with no reserve and see what they bring. This would give them a good idea of what a fair market price may be. Also, another cheap promotion would be to give away a few on refuge forums. The giveaway would generate interest and put the product in front of their target market.

Oh yeah.. almost forgot. Your link contains a comma at the end that's making it a bad URL. Should be www.rgoutdoors.com
-
They look interesting, but maybe a bit steep on the price. I'm looking at $200 for 6 decoys? About $20 apiece would be more marketable. Just my opinion.

Yes, we call them. We call anytime we see geese. If they turn to us, we continue to call until they're just about in range. I'd like to hear more about your dad's decoys. I've been thinking of trying reelwingsnext season.

We hunt almost exclusively over water from blinds. We generally put out 1-2 dozen floaters, a couple of goose magnets (if the wind's good), and five or six ducks. I watch geese, even when not hunting them, and try undertsand their patterns and habits. I try to set my decoys to closely mimic their natural movements and patterns on the water, while funneling them into shotgun range. The goose magnets help to direct the birds into the spread in just the right direction, because they look like new geese landing in the zone. Some days are better than others - -

Nice job, Junior! What kind of ducks were they?
-
Nice job! Congratulations! Our season goes into its second phase this week, so we can now hunt all day long. I'm trying to get some time freed up to go this week.
