    Uli's a porn star!!
  3. I can't see spending much more than $15 on this project
  4. Either way, the call would be whether or not you want to try to use the rifle as is this season or not. I kept my cracked stock last season until I was finished using it, then mailed it to Benelli. That way, they could take five months for all I cared.
  5. Wow! That looks like quite a reply. I'll have to remember to actually read it one day. Right now, I'm still in the "life's too short" mindset.
  6. KoolBreeze, The question was silly to start with. Benelli marketing information clearly defined the niche for which the Cordoba was built. A slug barrell for a high-volume dove gun is a ridiculous notion. They already offer slug barrels for a number of other quality field guns, and that market is well-covered by those offerings. Get over it.
  7. I posted in the Upland Game section yesterday how refreshing it was to see a show on hunting cottontails with Beagles. At the end of my post, I suggested that "Benelli's American Gun Dog" post their shooting tips to the web, because they do a nice job of addressing some FAQ's from these forums. I guess I should have checked the web site a bit more closely! Nice job!
  8. Well, whaddaya know?! They are on the web!!
  9. I shot some Fasteel early season with no problems, but no Matrix. I was gonna try some before my health probs soured my season. Sounds like a definite manuf. defect that needs immediate attention. I KNOW you know what you're doing when it comes to a Benelli, so I'm sure the gun is not the issue. Were all of yours from the same or similar lot #'s?
  10. I use Silencio muffs when shooting at the range, but no protection afield. Admittedly, this is not the best way to be, but Led Zeppelin did more damage in my teens than shooting will do for the rest of my life.
  11. Fish On! Just kidding, mudhen. Nice retort.
  12. Looking at either the TC or Savage Striker. I just bid on a .243 Striker on gunbroker a while ago. Looked like decent deal, considering it comes with a Burris 4x.
  13. Many posts here on the subject. The nut is set with loctite and has to be heated while sufficient force is applied.
  14. Looks like you've become quite the expert in a relatively short period of time. Dan, At first glance, I'd have to say that your presumptions are pretty narrow-minded and belie your lack of experiences outside of your comfort zone. Varying terrains and conditions take many hunters out your quoted average ranges on a regular basis. With slower moving, larger target game like turkeys, it's perfectly reasonable to desire a tighter pattern at extended ranges. Why limit oneself to 25-37 yards when you don't have to? I wouldn't dare shoot geese or turkey with 7.5's, and phone books are bland table fare. If averages ruled, we'd all be the same size, have the same skill sets, shoot the same non-trophy game, with same equipment all of the time.
  15. Not here. Anything above .23 cal. makes the grade. I've taken a lot of nice deer with a .243 over the years, so I'm considering that.
  16. Nice, but I'm looking for something that actually kicks LESS than my 30-06
  17. Today's AGD featured hunting cottontails with beagles. How refreshing to see to a show on hunting that isn't wingshooting or deer hunting! Nice work, American Gun Dog Now, if Benelli could put those weekly shooting tips up on the web, we could refer newbies to them when they ask about barrel lenght, eye dominance, etc. [ 11-06-2005, 09:11 AM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]
  18. Not as long as local laws allow me to use my rifles
  19. So far, so good. Each day is better than the one before. I'm already shopping for a handgun I can use to take whitetail out to 300 yards with this year. Can't shoot a shouldered weapon for three months. Don't want anything snapping loose

If there was a pool, whomever had November 3 at 6:12 PM would be the winner This message brought to you by the makers of Darvocet (darned good stuff).
  21. That's a good looking shooter for the $$$. I love my Veloce, but if I didn't have one I'd definitely consider the Diamond.
  22. The 30-06 will take any North American game. Ammo is widely available in a broad range of bullet styles and weights. Recoil is tolerable. The big advantage of the WSM's is the case length. The shorter case insures more uniform burns from shot to shot and improves the potential for better accuracy. One disadvantage of the fatter case is that the magazine holds 3 instead of 4. All in all, the 30-06 is hard to beat, and resale is always easier in America's most popular cartridge.
  23. Sounds like excellent waterfowl weather.
  24. A private message may get his attention better. With the recent flood of post-happy noobs, it's easy to miss something important here
  25. Did you reply to wallhanger54's response on your other post. Trust me - he KNOWS what he's doing.
