I am not aware of any knockoffs. M4 and M4 Super 90 are one in the same. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benelli_M4_Super_90

The bolt handle will be on the left side for LH models. The bolt release is on the right side for both models.

Is it NIB? I can get NIB for $1700 without really shopping around. -
No season on the snows?

I don't know about your lost post, but I can tell you that all pumps release the bolt when fired. Generally, recoil will begin the process of opening the action, then the shooter takes over and completes the process. In order to keep it closed, you have to make a deliberate effort to keep the forearm forward when shooting.

A mix of puddlers and divers.

Here are a couple of shots from last week's sea duck outing with flatsspy. While it's always nice to shoot ducks, that's not the whole experience. Spending the day with friends and enjoying the scenery, as well gaining some knowledge and experience on a type of hunting I'd never done before, were just as rewarding to me. The bay was ridiculously slick and calm. We saw good numbers of ducks, but they seemed to be enjoying the rest afforded them by the warmer temps and complete lack of waves, and they weren't too motivated to move around much. We picked up a couple of scoters and Gaston and gang in the other boat managed to get a nice oldsquaw. Flatsspy said it was the worst day he'd ever had sea duck hunting, and he apologized numerous times. While understand what he was saying, I really don't think the apology was necessary. I enjoyed the beauty of the area and the company. Not a bad day at all. Sunrise on the bay First string

Good stuff, Randy. Thanks for posting the pics!

Sorry it didn't work out for you. Have you asked Weatherby why all of their synthetic shotguns are black? Maybe you could get them to change for just you.
-
Let's recap. Don't like black guns, because they're "ugly". But likes Weatherby rifles. That's all I really need to know.

No cranes here. We get good shoots on resident Canadas in September. Woodies, mallards and perhaps a few teal in October. Mallards, blacks, woodies, teal, migrating Canadas, ringnecks and gadwalls in later seasons. We also see a sprinkling of widgeons, bluebills, redheads, canvasbacks, pintails, and a few tundra swans (not legal in my home zone). We might occasionally spy a goldeneye, scoter, oldsquaw, or a snow goose, but they're quite rare in my home area. You don't have to drive far to get a whole different set of choices. We have good numbers of coots, ruddy ducks, buffleheads, and mergansers, but few people shoot them.

I also have this in PDF format. PM me your e-mail address if you want it.

Refresh the page and it should be fixed now. Thanks for the heads-up!

You're right. I was Photoshopping and doing a couple of other things at the same time while eating lunch. Gimme a few minutes....

This is tricky to find online in any decent quality, so I asked a friend at Benelli to send me the files. I re-assembled them into a single jpg for convenience. If you have a SBE, you may want to save a copy. Just right-click the image and choose "Save Image As". Thanks, P! Keep up the good work!

I stopped reloading shotshells years ago. I have been suing Black Cloud exclusively this year and am very pleased with the results. That's some good information you posted. I'd be curious as to how the Black Cloud compares to your loads. I'm using 3" 4's on ducks and 3.5" BB's on geese. Going out for Scoters and Oldsquaws tomorrow, so I'm stepping it up to 2's. Did you see the doe I shot with the #4's? I don't know about a phone book, but she didn't make any more calls.

Here's the parts schematic and list, in case you need to check proper assembly.
-
Tear it back down to remove the trigger group. With that out, slide the bolt back, compressing the recoil spring, to see if it's allowing the bolt to go all the way back. If it is, then you've got something wrong in the trigger group assembly. If not, then you've got a broken recoil spring perhaps. Brownells has a parts diagram, but the quality is a bit low. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/sid=570/schematicsdetail/Super_Black_Eagle

That's the stuff! That right there is the ultimate trophy in duck hunting, my friends. It just does not get any better than that. I thought I was having a heck of a year, but this guy is on a kick-azz roll! Next thing you know, he'll be posting pictures of a 160"+ bow killed whitetail or something crazy like that! See you Friday AM, Gaston. I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve over this trip! Oh yeah, and Sean and I would love to hit the owb one more time if you've got an opening next week sometime.

One more reason to sell it. What are you asking for it?
-
Gaston, post it up! You know what I'm talking about. Let's see that bling!

Rooster Cogburn had the same problem.
