  1. Can I ask why you would go through all of the trouble for an extra 2 inches? There is really no advantage of a 28 over a 26 and the 26 is shorter which is good for the duck blind.
  2. I really don't see a use for them, so I'm not going to shell out $90 for one.
  3. Make the hole bigger? I hope that doesn't happen to my gun.
  4. Its a pump. I'll look into brownells to see if they have the part I am looking for. Thanks
  5. I have a 20 gauge charles daly that I have had for a while now. When I first got it, it did great, got a few doves, a few ducks, and I managed to drop a half dozen geese with it. But I neglected it, I never oiled it once, and I hardly ever cleaned it. It ended up rusting a bit which caused the extractor arm to not catch the round like it normally should, one out of 3-4 rounds will not extract. I have oiled it up well with breakfree CLP but I still have the problem. My question is, can I bend the extractor arm with out breaking it or is it about impossible to do with pliers?
  6. The duct tape is a nice touch.
  7. $92.00 for a shooting vest with their logo on it?!?!?! No thanks.
  8. I saw that same thing on an old beretta, not any newer guns until I saw this. I wonder what causes it.
  9. Tucker, do you think the easy hit would help anyone who doesn't know how to use a shim kit properly? When I get an auto loader, I don't know anything about gun fitting, I have always just picked up a gun and used it. If my eye doesn't line up with the barrel, I've always just shouldered the gun different and that fixed the problem. Also, I am an instinctive shooter too, I hit more birds if I point and shoot and I hit less if I try to aim at all.
  10. Tucker, why do you say that is a mossberg? That gun is clearly a benelli, its in their booth and you can tell by the magazine cap alone that it is a benelli. And the fact that it looks just like an M4 covered in camo. And you can see the other benellis in the backround.
  11. You can definately use it for deer, even if you don't want to get a slug barrel for it, I can punch a hole through a deers chest at 75 yards with a smoothbore, open sight 20 guage, and no rifled choke, which is another option if you don't want to buy the slug barrel. To break it in, I would say 4 boxes of some heavy waterfowl rounds and you should be good, you should be able to pattern it while you break it in. The reason people use the heavy rounds to break it in is because the heavy rounds loosen the recoil spring, which is stiff when you first get it and has a hard time cycling lighter rounds if some heavy loads haven't been shot to loosen it a little. My uncle never broke in his SBE II, which is similar the the M2 but shoots 3-1/2" shells, he just bought his gun and some 3-1/2" goose rounds and took it goose hunting. He got just as many as I did and his gun didn't have one problem. He didn't even pattern it or adjust the shims so if fit better.
  12. You also might want to look into Hevi-shot dead coyote. It is size T shot. If you look at the chart, it says what the pattern does at 30-40-50-60 and 70 yards. http://hevi-shot.com/images/panels/dead_coyote/Coyote-Chart.gif Its kinda expensive though.
  13. Can't wait to see the pictures. Where exacly is the shot show?
  14. The site says they are both 14-3/8" but I believe both are adjustable with the different gel pads.
  15. What do you have against Patrick? I have never had a problem with federal rifle ammo, but, I hardly ever use federal shotgun shells, and when I do in cold weather, they fall apart . I'll look into there kit, but I will also just stick with Winchester, never had a problem in the three years I have used them. My brother uses federals and winchester and the winchester shoot way better, for the same price. I like there rifle ammo a lot too, its just a little more expensive then federals.
  16. Last day of goose season here, I've only shot one, I line up on another goose coming in, and my gun goes boom, I missed. I then went to eject the shell and out comes the brass cap, but no plastic. I look in my chamber and there it is, wedged in the gun. I had to go all the way home and get it out with my gun kit and by that time, my hunt was over . All in all, the gun did great, and it did excellent with winchesters, not one problem, but the one box of federal 3-1/2 and half of the shell stays in the gun. It was only the third round out of the box. So, just letting you know why I won't use federal again, I will stick with winchester and hevi-shot.
  17. Also, isn't that one of those cameras you set up on a tree and the motion sensor takes pictures when something moves in front of the camera?
  18. I was just saying how loud his overbored, ported barrel 12 gauge is, not that I want an overbored cordoba. I don't know if I would get the cordoba if I already had a SS, only difference is the matte finish. You could just spend a little and have your SS coated and you can call it a cordoba. Thanks
  19. Anyone think he is baiting just to see wildlife? Like planting apple trees to watch deer in your yard?
  20. They are both the exact same gun, only the supersport has a carbon fiber stock with the comfortech system and the supersport has a wood stock without comfortech. I would go for the original, its the one with comfortech and I have never been a fan of wood stocks. If you found one for $900 or $1000, I would definately not pass that up.
  21. Sorry Dooderman, but your first two paragraphs don't make any sense to me. The mossberg my brother has was made to be an overbored shotgun, its pattern with large shot is amazing, but I am not a fan of large shot so I don't really care, but it is overbored for a reason. The three inch winchester supremes hit just as hard as the 3-1/2 winchester HV, SuperX and Drylock. The hevi-shot does more then I need it to. I don't like to shoot past 40 yards, I have occasionally shot 50-60 yards but I am most comfortable at 30-40 so threes will do just fine. Thanks for the comments everyone.
  22. That is AWESOME, but yeah, there is a lot of corn on the ground.
  23. I figured the porting would be loud because my brothers overbored, ported mossberg is the loudest gun I have ever heard, doesn't matter what shell he uses, if it goes off and you don't have ear plugs, your ears will be ringing for the next hour. Dooderman, one thing I noticed is the overbored 12 gauges aren't as big as a 10 but they are a lot bigger then a 12. So I guess the barrels are 11 gauge. I believe they had an 11 gauge, it wasn't as good as either the 10 or 12, so they discontinued it. I do know the gun goes only three inch, that is why I said I was going to be using hevi-shot and I have noticed the three inch do just as well and they go faster. The 3-1/2 just puts more steel in the air.
  24. So its a loud gun? I thought thats what hearing protection was for.
  25. I was thinking of getting one instead of an SBE II, I like the gun better and I'm going to be using heavy shot #6 for ducks and #2-#3 for geese next year. The three inch shell has done just as well as the 3-1/2s. Plus I'll be doing a lot of dove and pheasant hunting, so I want a gun better suited for all around hunting. I have already looked at the legacy, ultralight, M1 and M2 and I like the cordoba the best. So if anyone has one, please post your satisfaction or unsatisfaction with the gun. Thanks
