  1. Not a good one of me, I have a fat head and a gay smile, but whatever.
  2. Here are a few pics I took today with our new camera. There are two dogs in most of the pictures and those are of tanks sister. Tank is the big one the little one is brandy. My uncle recently lost his 14 year old lab and he liked mine so much he is getting one of his own, I'm watching her til he flies over here and gets her. Hes gonna show me the basics to train Tank too! Well here are a bunch of pics. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p98/Goosebonker/IMG_0955.jpg
  3. Yeah, he ain't a PP, but I think if I train him right, he is going to be a great hunting dog, plus there is a chance that he will be a pointer, his mom is pointer. My uncle told me to sleep with him, and its working. But there is a down side, I am a 7 o'clock man, now that I have this pup and I'm babysitting my uncles pup, I am a 5 o'clock man, I don't like it.
  4. So it does cover basic obedience? My uncle is coming to pick up his pup and he is going to show me the basics and give me a really good book on dog training. Does game dog cover pointing for upland or is it for like training a lab to flush? Thanks
  5. For those who have used the DVDs, what do I get? Do I get water dog and gun dog, game dog, or just waterdog? My pup is a lab/weimaramer mix so he might be a pointing dog, but he could be a flushing dog too. I want to train him to be a great waterfowl dog, and if he has the pointer in him, a pointing dog, if he doesn't have the pointing, I want to train him flushing.
  6. I'm working with banging a frying pan and fireworks right now, he doesn't like the fireworks, but the banging doesn't bother him, I do it out of nowhere and it still doesn't bother him, I'm gonna get a pop gun and see if that bothers him, last thing I want it a gun shy dog.
  7. Don't have the time or patience to read that whole thing, but I read 3/4 of the first page, and it was just a bunch of people telling him it don't fit.
  8. I would IM Sdkidaho if I were you, he could answer all that, but the beretta site says a BEII with Kick off and camo would run about $1500-$1600, and as far as I know, Sdk's doesn't have a problem with light loads.
  9. Benelli, kick a**, beretta, kick a**, mossberg, kick a**, remington, kiss a**.
  10. Well the dame is from excellent hunting lines, but I have no idea who the father is, in fact noone does, I think I might know who the father is, but still I'm not sure.
  11. I think you should send the SBE II to me and get the Beretta Extrema II, inertia guns kick a lot harder than gas operated ones, so I think benelli is saying that the SBE II is the lightest kicking inertia shotgun. Sdkidaho can tell you how much he likes his Beretta extrema II, another suggestion too is to maybe learn to shoot with your other shoulder? Just a thought.
  12. What do you mean tuck? My uncle who is a professional dog trainer suggested I sleep with him for the next three months, house train him, work on sit and stay and in a few weeks start working with him in the house retrieving with a choker chain and a leash. I don't have any kennel or anything, I could tie him up I suppose, but I would rather not. He has started his chewing process, trys chewing on the couch, table legs, chairs, boxs, anything but the rawhides.
  13. Thanks, I'm very pleased with him, he has pissed in the house once, but every other time has been outside and he has used the bathroom 8 times since yesterday. Thats pretty good for only being away from momma for 3 days. He also whines when he needs to go out, responds to his name, and comes to me and only me. And I have only had him since yesterday afternoon.
  14. Heres my new pup, black lab/weimaraner mix.
  15. Really, you use that for early season close teal? Thats the stuff I shoot at geese 30-50 yards up! For early season ducks I use #3 winchester HV or #4 winchester supremes. I'm gonna order a case of hevi steel #4 and hevi-shot #4. Thanks
  16. How do you like hevi-steel #4s? I was gonna go with them for ducks and geese, used winchester supremes #4 last year and they were great, so were the winchester HV 3-1/2s.
  17. I emailed them once, never got a reply, its a waste of time, call them. I can't remember their email though, sorry.
  18. Well, I got him, hes skittish already, likes to hide a lot, but this is his first day with me and third day of not being with his mother. He is whining a lot and trying to chew on the couch but not on rawhides. He loves playing outside and already likes my sister better then he likes me. I'm gonna see if he will warm up in the next few days. One thing that is nice though, he hasn't used the bathroom in the house yet, but he has pissed in the yard 5 times already. I'll get pictures later, maybe tomarrow.
  19. Theres one male left, I'm gonna look at him tomarrow, I don't want a female.
  20. I'm thinking the same way, I have never trained a hunting dog, so if I get one for $1000 and mess it up some way, I'm kinda screwed, if I mess this one up, I'll have a useless dog but a free one at that. It really depends on if the father is a hunting dog too. That would really seal the deal.
  21. I originally wanted to wait to get a Pudel pointer, and still do, but today, (my mom works at the vet clinic) a guys weimeriner female just had some Weim/lab puppies. The Weim is a purebred and is from top hunting bloodlines, the male lab, we don't know anything about yet. The puppies were an accident so he is giving them away, my parents think it would be wise to get one of these and not spend $1000 on a dog, (the cost of the PP) I'm just wondering what you all would do, I'm going to go see them tomarrow. Thanks
  22. Mudhen, what shells do you normally use for waterfowl?
