  1. You cant go wrong with the Jellyhead,I use it in my Supernova and SBE,does great. The Carlson tubes work great also.If you use the Winchester Extended Range #6 or the Hevi-13 #6 shot with the tubes I mentioned ,I just dont believe you can do alot better.
  2. You can go to the bottom of the page on the left to the display options and show pages from as long ago as a year, just change the options.
  3. Whenever you have a question about what chokes will interchange with others ,you can go to Briley.com,they have a choke interchange list on their website. There is alot of confusion these days as to what choke will fit which gun!Hope this helps!
  4. Yes,the chokes from the Nova and Supernova are the same choke you use in the P350,they are the Benelli Mobilchokes.
  5. Seems like we both have pretty good taste then, lol.Tooky be sure and let me know how you like that EZ pull trigger assist!I was thinking of ordering one for my Supernova,it has some travel before reaching the sear and is a lil heavy ,but it seems to be getting better the more I shoot it. I think I saw a thread on here where someone else was using the EZ pull trigger assist.Maybe they will chime in and help us out with that.I would like to have my trigger done by a smith who could lighten it and take out the travel but its TURKEY SEASON here in Tennessee ,so that will have to wait!
  6. Or you can use the Aimtech or the B-Square mount, they use the receiver pins to hold the mount, but I don't know if they are available in camo or not.
  7. I know its a bum way to extend the pull length but you could always try one of the limbsaver slip on pads over your factory pad to see if that helps, then you can get an adjustable length pad from MidwayUSA.
  8. I just had to say that I was greatly surprised today!I finally was able to get my hands on some of the Hevi-13 3.5" 2 1/4 oz #6 turkey loads at a local sport store. Those things are as scarce as hen's teeth around here. Anyhow when I got home I proceeded to pattern some of those precious shells thru the Jellyhead and two different Carlson's tubes I have, one which is .665" and ported and the other is .650" and not ported. To my surprise the Carlson .650",which should be too tight for the Hevi, nearly shredded the turkey on the target at a measured 40yds,with the Jellyhead being really close to the same pattern. The ported .665" tube didnt do nearly as well. All these were shot thru my Supernova and using the Quakerboy targets.I will try to post some pics a lil later. I just thought you guys would like to know how it turned out, also gives some of the others a good idea for a starting point. Quakerboy, did you try the Hevi-shot #6 thru the SSX tube you have with the .643" ID?
  9. Tooky I will have to say you have great taste. You are using the same pattern targets that I just started using this year:D,and I am not sure if I should tell ya this, but the Williams sights you are showing are exactly identical to the TruGlo Universal Tru-point Xtreme gight that I use on my SBE.If you got the lil ghost ring along with your sights, then they are probably made by the same people and just packaged a lil differently!
  10. Jrhuntcamp,I have been using the TruGlo sights on my SBE for turkey hunting. The set I have is the Universal, they are around $40 and work great, fit pretty much any shotgun rib. You can use a field load to get them set very close to keep from shooting all of your expensive turkey loads just to set your sights!
  11. Sonnyboy I am sure that you didnt buy a big mistake.Different ammo is gonna have a different POI,and shotguns are worse because of the lower velocity and more recoil. If you tried target loads I am sure that your POI would drop. Most shotguns are designed to shoot 60% of the pattern above, and 40% below the POA,and that is magnified with turkey loads. Anyhow,my recommendation would be to buy a set of aftermarket sights.I have been using the Tru-glo Universal sights on my SBE.They work great and put the center of the pattern where I want it to be.I think they are about $40 for the better set and they will work on pretty much any shotgun rib. I know there are alot of guys that use the factory bead and do great with it,I am just not one of them.Too many shotguns dont shoot to the POA with turkey loads, and with the tight patterns at close range you really need to have your pattern hit where you aim. Hope that this is a help to ya!
  12. Your factory full choke is fine to shoot copper plated shot thru, you just have to be careful about shooting tungsten or some of the other heavy shotshells thru it.Most of those other types require a choke that specifies that you can use hevi shot in it. I am pretty sure that you can even shoot the Winchester Extended Range thru your factory tube.I believe when it first came out, that was one of the selling points. All in all,if it were me I would buy a turkey specific choke,I just wouldnt be satisfied without one! They give much better patterns for hunting turkeys.
  13. The tom's here in my area sure did clam up,had a cold spell pass thru, sure did shut em up!But then again, the fact that they are still henned up here doesn't help either. I did have a lil bit of fun with a couple of jakes. They were off to themselves, called them in to about 15 yds,let em ease off and called em back again, lol. It was fun to watch their reactions, but also very tempting, thinking of how good they would taste, lol!
  14. If you look on the MidwayUSA website, they have a camo scope mount for the nova.It is a Burris mount, just like the weaver mount only it is camo.Is your Nova drilled and tapped? This mount is for Nova's that are drilled and tapped! If you cant use the Burris mount,Midway has the Aimtech and the B-Square mounts that use the receiver pins to secure the mount.I really am not sure if they have one of those that are camo though, but they have all of the choices of mounts that are available.Hope this helps ya!
  15. I am not sure about the M1 but I have a SBE and a Supernova.I have been shooting patterns with several different chokes thru my Supernova.I know that every gun is an individual but sometimes you can get a good idea from others where to start. I have been pretty impressed by a few chokes, and others don't really stand out much.I just bought a couple of the Carlson's choke tubes and have been impressed by their performance compared to price.I bought the Carlson's .650" nonported tube and the .665" ported tube. They both performed very well with the Winchester Extended Range, and even though it is a tighter choke,I actually think the .650" was a better pattern, more killing hits on target. It is on par with the Jellyhead tube that I have,so thats a hard choice between them, but the Jellyhead costs about 50% more. All in all,I think my starting point would be with the Jellyhead and the Carlson's. If I wanted to put a lil more money into it,then I would try the Indian Creek or the Kicks Gobblin Thunder(which I already have),and maybe a Rhino, but thats a lot of money!Since you are gonna shoot lead you can stay with the tighter chokes as long as you are using the smaller shot sizes!Hope this helps ya!
  16. I have a Patternmaster choke I bought for turkey hunting.Every load I shot thru mine patterned terrible, scattered just like it was a improved cylinder or thereabouts.I never could get a pattern out of mine that would be sufficient for turkey hunting.Everything i have read about the Patternmaster since only recommends using large size shot thru it,such as buckshot. Maybe they have started making other tubes that will work for turkey,I dunno!
  17. I am not sure of the tactical base,if it is the same as the regular base that Weaver has or not,but the regular base for the Supernova is the 423,but beware, the base has to have some metal relieved from the rear,it actually hits the rear of the receiver, putting the base in a bind, along with the screws being in a bind, and raising the rear of the base.I am not sure if Weaver is aware of this problem,or if Benelli is aware of it either.I took some of the rear off of mine, then blackened it,and it works fine!Hope this helps! BTW,the base made by Aimtech and B-Square is supposed to fit the Supernova also, though I am not sure if those bases have the fit problem of the weaver base.Hopefully someone that has that base on their Supernova will chime in and help us all out with that info!

    super nova

I have a Supernova I bought back in January,I am just now getting to put it thru its paces for turkey season but so far no hiccups or problems, and I am shooting 3 1/2" turkey loads thru it.It actually seems to throw a more uniform pattern with most chokes and loads than my older model SBE. I would think the Supernova just as durable as the SBE2,but you are comparing *****s to oranges, auto to pump.
  19. Preacher ,I too hope that you stick around. We need all the Benelli fans to stick around, everyone has some input to give that will help others with a problem.Well some do anyway!! Anyhow,I go along with the others, you probably had barrel problems, maybe the choke tube to barrel fit was bad,the barrel could have been threaded wrong in some way.Anyway I am sure whatever it was,it wasn't shooter error. It is a shame that Benelli or the sports store didn't think to just try a different barrel and different choke to see if that was your problem instead of shipping your gun off, specially this close to turk killin time. Hope you get it all worked out, hope you stay with us,and hope you get to shoot a big gobbler with that same gun!
  20. The season opens here in Tennessee on march 29th,24 long days away.I just know the gobblers can't wait for me to be chasin them around:D,lol. We also have a juvenile hunt that opens here on the 22nd and 23rd,just before the main season.
  21. Hog I think he is talking about the tactical models of the M2 and the M4.If you look at a pic of either one,the sling attachment is just at the end of the forearm, but located on the mag tube.I think it swivels around on the mag tube, from side to side, allowing it to hit the barrel on either side when it swivels. Am I correct on this RAC880? I would think the best way to cure the problem would be to take the swivel off of the tube and maybe put one of the tube clamp swivels on to replace it.The one I am thinking of would look something like a barrel band for a dangerous game rifle,it would just clamp onto your mag tube.I know you should not have to do this, benelli should have cured this already.Maybe they will read your post and do something about it on future models.

    plug

A pair of snap ring pliers would be just the ticket for that!! I used a pair of needle nose pliers with sharp nose, worked just fine but the snap ring pliers probably would be best to keep from damaging the blue if you arent very careful!!
  23. Quake I am glad to hear you say you don't sell the merchandise that you receive from your sponsors on Ebay.Like you said that would be wrong,or in my opinion it is.They are sending you that stuff to evaluate and to recommend changes in it to make it better for sportsmen,if I am correct in my assumption anyway. Anyhow, you see the area I live in,there is a pretty well known gunwriter in my neck of the woods,he writes for a very well known magazine. He does that very thing,I have seen him at gunshows selling merchandise given to him by his sponsors. He really burned a friend of mine on a Rem700 rifle. He paid him more for it than a new one costs,he didnt know how much they sell for.
  24. Use a Remington 870 when you have a Benelli Turkey Destroyer? Thats blasphemy!!!!!!
