  1. Does your SBEII Have sling posts? If it does I would just use the rifle model of the CLAW.I bought one for my Supernova. The shotgun model is really for use on shotguns that don't have the sling posts.Otherwise they are the same sling. I bought one of the olive drab models, wish I had found the camo model before I found the olive one.But I cant really see another $10 to $15 for camo over the olive drab.$19.99 opposed to $34.99.
  2. My benelli has never been turkey friendly. It goes boom and turkey goes in the pot.If Benelli's were turkey friendly there would be a lot more turkeys walking around today!!
  3. If you are talking to me Quake,I got outa there as fast as I could.I didn't even look for any turkey tracks! Those real estate people are liable to charge for looking at their website, lol.
  4. I hate to tell ya but I tried your link for woods and water and it took me to a realty company in Wisconsin, lol. The proper link is http://www.woods-n-water.com
  5. I get a different POI in a couple of different shells, but as i recall my change is due to velocity. The ones I remember having a big difference is between the Win XR's and the Hevi-13.There is a velocity difference of 135 -150 fps according to the manufacturers.
  6. Mudhen ,look at your pattern for the SSX again, looks like there may be a lil bit of change in POI ,from the Jellyhead tube.Might just be me but it looks like alot of your pattern hit a lil bit higher with the SSX than the Jellyhead.
  7. Did you get to try some of the Win Extended Range High Density 6's ?Most on here it seems have better results with those and the Jellyhead.Thats the combo my SBE likes, the Hevi 13 also does well.
  8. First of all,you need to decide which one fits you best, which one comes up the best for you when you shoulder it.Although you can change that some using the shims that come with gun,it still has to come up good for you for fast shots on pheasants, grouse etc. Secondly, the M2 is a 3" chambered gun,so you cant shoot your 3.5" turkey and goose loads in it. If you buy a SBE,then you have the option of using it for turkeys, geese, pheasants ,grouse, dove, and anything else you might want to hunt with it.You cant go wrong with either gun,but you can do more with the SBE,and the SBE will shoot loads light enough to dove hunt with.My SBE is a 2000 model, and it has worked every load I have put in it,including some light 1oz game loads.
  9. You will have to get a local Benelli dealer to order you a pad from Benelli if you wish to get an OEM pad instead of an aftermarket.Be prepared because the word I have from a local dealer here is that the gel pad from Benelli is very pricey.I was told they ordered one for another customer and it was around the $80 mark. The length of pull on your tactical should be 14 1/4" ,that is what the website states for your gun.
  10. Can you give us some more details, like is it a camo or black synthetic,is it wood and blue?Is it a SBE ,or a SBE II?
  11. The Federal Magshok will work in your gun as long as the shell is a 2 3/4" or a 3",your gun will only accept those two shell lengths, not the 3 1/2" shells.
  12. Thanks for the reply,it is just as I have found out I think.I contacted limbsaver about a replacement pad for the Supernova Steadygrip and all that they told me was that they were having fit problems with those guns.I never really have gotten a straight answer from them,as to whether or not they have tried to manufacture a pad for that stock.
  13. Thanks for the link 10,that gives a pretty good starting point.I sure wish the guy had used the new Hevi-13 in his tests.I hear some have been getting pretty good results with it. I had good results with the Hevi-13 in my SBE and a Briley choke, would havew used it last year but didnt have enough time to go back and reset my sights to the Hevi-13.
  14. When you put the pad on your tactical,is it the same size as the pad you took off?If so then it is a larger pad than the pad on the Supernova Steadygrip.Myself and a few others here have been trying to find a replacement pad for the one that comes on the steadygrip Supernova.
  15. I looked at the Bass Pro today, and they still have a SuperNova steadygrip in Advantage camo priced at $499,I bought the steadygrip I have now,in Realtree APG camo for $488.They had the two same guns sitting side by side and mine was cheaper,I bought mine about a month ago.Today they have another steadygrip in Realtree APG,identical to mine, but the price is $529,so they are going up in price evidently!
  16. Thanks Tucker I will try that.
  17. Am getting ready to put a scope mount on my Supernova. There are plugs in the receiver holes, made of plastic I think.Anyone here removed these plugs to put a mount on?How did you get them out?Any help would be appreciated!
  18. If you are shooting skeet, you will have a trap on the left and one on the right throwing clay birds in front of you from right to left and left to right from each trap. If you are shooting trap they will be going straight from your direction headed away from you,may be some variation in the flight path, depending on how the trap is set up. In sporting clays you travel to several different stations, similar to a hunting situation. In five stand there are five different stations with as many as 12 or so different traps throwing birds, you choose which traps throw the birds. You shoot 5 shells and then move to another station. I have shot all of them here in the local area, though there could possibly be some difference in your area but the basics are the same.
  19. QuakerBoy,thank you for the info,as always you were very helpful with your reply.I only hope that sometime ,maybe you can help me again.Everyone here should appreciate your help and information. You have resources that many of us here dont have. Now I think maybe I will try one of the SSX tubes also, whenever I am able to lay hands on one anyhow. When I get to try it out I will try to let the results be known here, maybe it will help someone!
  20. ScoutII ,I can't speak for anyone else here, and I dont have a SBE2,my SBE is a 2000 model.I have been using sights on it,and I think sights are an excellent idea. With todays choke tubes shooting very tight patterns up close,if your gun isnt shooting exactly to point of aim, then you very well could miss that longbeard, especially at close range. This way you can center your pattern to point of aim. TruGlo and Hi-Viz both have shotgun sights available.I am using the Universal TruGlo Tru-point Extreme and they will work on pretty much any shotgun with a rib. They are easily adjusted and are fiber optic,so you can see them a little better in low light also.
  21. Fullstrut, don't sweat the small stuff,I missed it too obviously.QuakerBoy did not tell Mudhen that the SSX was the best tube for his gun.I started the thread and Mudhen wasn't mentioned. If you read the above QuakerBoy states that what works for him might not work for all and vice versa. He was just making people aware of the options and has always emphasized trial and error. If he had told anyone that the SSX would be the best in a certain gun,I think that he would have pointed that at me since I was the one that asked the question.
  22. Did you take the firing pin out and clean the recess it is in?Years ago I had a Rem 1100 to start giving light strikes and sometimes would fire and sometimes would not.Turns out that there had been a buildup of oil in the firing pin hole and it was causing a sort of hydraulic effect, sometimes it would allow the firing pin to strike hard enough to ignite the primer, and sometimes not.
  23. Well I already have a Jellyhead,I have shot it in my SBE but not my Supernova as of yet.Does great in the SBE.I may pick up one of the Strutstoppers if I can find one, just to try it.You never know, may be the best combo in my gun.I am always trying to find a better combo.Since the Benellis already have a small bore, the tighter ID may be better, then again it may be too tight and blow the pattern apart.
  24. I hope I have been of some help to ya!I bought the Jellyhead tube for my Benelli SBE last year and it opened my eyes to how good that gun could pattern. If you need to know any more about choke interchangeability you can go to the Briley choke website, they have a list there that tells what chokes will interchange.Hope you get good patterns and harvest a longbeard with your Stoeger!
