+1 I found with this buckshot load in my other M4 that it likes more open chokes. My Trulock IC arrives tomorrow and I would like very much to run some through it in the afternoon. Stay tuned.

I have decided to standardize on the 3" OOO Buckshot load from remington. Recoil is stiff, but not TOO bad. The payload is 10 .36 caliber projectiles of 3% antimony/lead which weigh aroun 70gr a piece. They impact with around 250# energy per pellet at the muzzle. This is reduced to around 170# or so at 50 yards. 10m The pictures/patterning speak for themselves. A Benelli M4 and a Trulock MOD choke were used for this test. I feel that this load, while sacrificing 1 shell payload due to the 3" length, is optimal. Lest you fear the penetration of OOO buck, I did more testing (20m distance on these 2 tests) for you... Through a car-door (metal, mid 80's crown vic) it retains enough energy to wound, and MAYBE kill. If soft tissue like the neck were hit, or it went through a part of the door that did not have any backing on the other side, it could kill perhapse. I would not make it my first choice to go through a door on an older car. 2x4's. It would barely penetrate 1 2x4 and either heavily dimple the one behind it, or imbed itself roughly flush in the surface. One of the other. To put this in perspective, the .45ACP JHP penetrated 2.5 and the 9mm JHP 3-3.5 and the 357SIG JHP around 4-4.5 boards. OOO Buck is not a horrid penetrator. It averages around 14-16" in gel/animals/whatnot. What you have to realise is that clothing and the skin on the back also factor. Skin on a person's back is the equivalent to about 2-4" of gelatin. Now factor maybe a leather jacket, etc. This isn't necessarily overkill at 16" penetration in gel. But what if it's the end of the world and everyone is out to get me and some guy with an AR is 75 yards way and my M4 and this OOO Buck that you like so much is all that I have got?!!? 75 yards is a long ways. Try to find 75 yards of open space with no cover that you are in on a daily basis. Go on. Try it. I doubt you can. However, I did this quick 3-shot test for you what-if guys. 3 shots were fired rapidly, as though I were shooting at something that could shoot back (I sighted carefully my first shot, then on the next two, I just let the sight picture drop down where it "looked good" and quickly sqeezed the shot off). Here are the results:

US Made Titanium Benelli M4 Magazine Tubes! Available online Jan 1, 2009.
Unobtanium replied to a topic in Benelli
All I needed was the heat-gun and lok-Tite (on both my M4's). What are you guys using a strap-wrench for? -
Lol, 5.0 GT's as well as the newer 05/06 GTO's had rear-spring sagging issues.

I think he means it happens during shooting.

Or having them send a waiver. You know if you feel comfortable doing something or not. If you don't feel like you can do it without messing it up, don't offer the service.

What ammunition is being used? Is the M4 in stock configuration or modified?

Apparently the author of that Yahoo article was wrong. I will not move there in search of the "non-materialistic, slow-paced lifestyle where privacy and relaxation are more precious than possessions."

File it away under "sad but true" I live in the south, have visited the north. I call FACT. I also have demographic IQ charts to prove it if you want to go there. Same with obeisity.

Incorrect, and you are wearing your springs by loading/unloading them. A spring under pressure will not lose strength. A spring cycled will. By swapping rounds out you are cycling them. Same goes for under-loading them. There is no need for this. Engineers design a spring/magazine setup with at LEAST a 10-15% "margin" before you change the spring's position beyond it's operating parameters (which WOULD damage the spring after only 1 occurance). LE agencies want their officers to change out ammo for PLENTY of reasons...corrosion of ammo, exposure to heat/cold cycles quite often, constant vibration in a cruiser. Maybe they hope they will SHOOT it to change it out and actually go to the range more than 1-2 times a year to qualify, lol. Either way, there is plenty of scientific fact debunking the myth that a spring is weakened by being left compressed. For example, if an engine sets up but is cranked once a week, thing will last FOREVER, but if it is run 150K miles hard in 1 year, those valves might start floating. Springs are weakened by relaxation/compression cycles. Not being left in 1 state or the other (unless heat is applied). You are correct about a lot of rimfires though. Dead on. Since almost everyone started with a .22, this "DONT DRYFIRE! is ingrained in our heads.

He is a magical creature that slaves away day and night in a shop making exotic, high-quality parts of the Benelli M4. You cannot find him. You can only contact him here, on this forum, or on his website. www.carriercomp.com Please, do not call him. I don't even call him anymore. Just e-mail him. We want him to be left alone as much as possible so that he may complete this rail and you can get one.

Yeah, also factor in that some people like me would rather have this done by someone who has done it before than forge new ground themselves with it. I mean, I replace my own mag tubes and other stuff, but when we start talking about cutting on things, I would prefer an experienced hand be at the saw.

2 is 1, 1 is none. More is better. Bigger is better. You can always not have enough ammo. You can never have "too much" ammo (unless you are weaksauce and can't carry it all with you). That is why I own a semi-auto 12ga.

Chics I know are the first to tell you I am unique, crazy, and very freaky, but I have NEVER jabbed one in the side with a compliance device other than that one which I won't discuss on this forum.

Would a competent person who has successfully done this consider offering this as a service to others who do not wish to make the $$ investment in tools/material to do just 1 stock? Obviously things *CAN* go wrong, so this would be a "good faith" arrangement of course. If anyone is willing to offer this as a service, what would you charge? I think a tidy sum can be made doing this without ripping people off. You make cash, we get proper length M4 stocks, everyone is happy, noone gets jacked, and the world keeps spinnin' Anyone?

A shotgun must be aimed just like a rifle or pistol. The shot spreads around 1" per meter in a Cylinder choked shotgun. Tighter if you run a tighter choke At 10 yards thats 10" spread. AIM AIM AIM! It is a shotgun, not a death-ray.
-
Let me guess, this is not a cycling issue, but rather an issue with you trying to baby the BCG closed? -OR- You got a weak mag spring that is not allowing the shell to be fully fed onto the top of the shell lifter in time.

Kip has not answered. Kip is working. Stuff is happening. I am happy.

Well...here in the south, IQ is lower, and obeisity is higher. I have not noticed a dental hygein trend, but would not be suprised if our dental hygein is worse than other geographic areas in the US, based on socio-economics and low IQ/poor health. but there is a confederate flag fixation by many white southerners. I would say that statement is truer of the south than of anywhere else in the US. As far as inbreeding, negative. I don't think there is a prevalence of that anywhere in the US that could be called geographic.

On my last M4, I had to move the sight left as well, not quite as much, but still considerable, when I changed to aftermarket chokes. ANY aftermarket choke in it would pattern high/right, just like this Trulock did. I am curious to fire it with the stock choke, but I really see no point.

I'm just basing my question off of a Yahoo news blog thing I saw on the Yahoo home page. That is how they painted Finland. I want to see if it is GENERALLY accurate, or a load of crap that only the author percieves due to his limited interaction.

Are these what I saw years ago on the "M1 Practical/Tactical" with the 24+" barrel and huge mag-tube? What choke-tube is used? Who made/makes the choke? How does this unit work. Does the choke-tube have notches like the OEM choke that would mate with a Briley speed wrench, and then threads that this recoil reducer then threads onto? How much does it weigh (will it throw off balance of the M4). Is it recommended by you for the M4? Tell me more. Also, I am interested and would like photos. Price? Is this a carbon-copy of the OEM part, or have you modified/improved it in some way?
