  1. Or having them send a waiver. You know if you feel comfortable doing something or not. If you don't feel like you can do it without messing it up, don't offer the service.
  2. 15 boxes (5 rounds ea.) $115 shipped w/in CONUS. Here is the link to it on Winchester's site. http://www.winchester.com/products/catalog/shotdetail.aspx?symbol=X12XC0B5&gauge=12
  3. What ammunition is being used? Is the M4 in stock configuration or modified?
  4. Apparently the author of that Yahoo article was wrong. I will not move there in search of the "non-materialistic, slow-paced lifestyle where privacy and relaxation are more precious than possessions."
  5. File it away under "sad but true" I live in the south, have visited the north. I call FACT. I also have demographic IQ charts to prove it if you want to go there. Same with obeisity.
  6. Incorrect, and you are wearing your springs by loading/unloading them. A spring under pressure will not lose strength. A spring cycled will. By swapping rounds out you are cycling them. Same goes for under-loading them. There is no need for this. Engineers design a spring/magazine setup with at LEAST a 10-15% "margin" before you change the spring's position beyond it's operating parameters (which WOULD damage the spring after only 1 occurance). LE agencies want their officers to change out ammo for PLENTY of reasons...corrosion of ammo, exposure to heat/cold cycles quite often, constant vibration in a cruiser. Maybe they hope they will SHOOT it to change it out and actually go to the range more than 1-2 times a year to qualify, lol. Either way, there is plenty of scientific fact debunking the myth that a spring is weakened by being left compressed. For example, if an engine sets up but is cranked once a week, thing will last FOREVER, but if it is run 150K miles hard in 1 year, those valves might start floating. Springs are weakened by relaxation/compression cycles. Not being left in 1 state or the other (unless heat is applied). You are correct about a lot of rimfires though. Dead on. Since almost everyone started with a .22, this "DONT DRYFIRE! is ingrained in our heads.
  7. He is a magical creature that slaves away day and night in a shop making exotic, high-quality parts of the Benelli M4. You cannot find him. You can only contact him here, on this forum, or on his website. www.carriercomp.com Please, do not call him. I don't even call him anymore. Just e-mail him. We want him to be left alone as much as possible so that he may complete this rail and you can get one.
  8. Yeah, also factor in that some people like me would rather have this done by someone who has done it before than forge new ground themselves with it. I mean, I replace my own mag tubes and other stuff, but when we start talking about cutting on things, I would prefer an experienced hand be at the saw.
  9. 2 is 1, 1 is none. More is better. Bigger is better. You can always not have enough ammo. You can never have "too much" ammo (unless you are weaksauce and can't carry it all with you). That is why I own a semi-auto 12ga.
  10. Chics I know are the first to tell you I am unique, crazy, and very freaky, but I have NEVER jabbed one in the side with a compliance device other than that one which I won't discuss on this forum.
  11. Would a competent person who has successfully done this consider offering this as a service to others who do not wish to make the $$ investment in tools/material to do just 1 stock? Obviously things *CAN* go wrong, so this would be a "good faith" arrangement of course. If anyone is willing to offer this as a service, what would you charge? I think a tidy sum can be made doing this without ripping people off. You make cash, we get proper length M4 stocks, everyone is happy, noone gets jacked, and the world keeps spinnin' Anyone?
  12. A shotgun must be aimed just like a rifle or pistol. The shot spreads around 1" per meter in a Cylinder choked shotgun. Tighter if you run a tighter choke At 10 yards thats 10" spread. AIM AIM AIM! It is a shotgun, not a death-ray.
  13. Let me guess, this is not a cycling issue, but rather an issue with you trying to baby the BCG closed? -OR- You got a weak mag spring that is not allowing the shell to be fully fed onto the top of the shell lifter in time.
  14. Kip has not answered. Kip is working. Stuff is happening. I am happy.
  15. Well...here in the south, IQ is lower, and obeisity is higher. I have not noticed a dental hygein trend, but would not be suprised if our dental hygein is worse than other geographic areas in the US, based on socio-economics and low IQ/poor health. but there is a confederate flag fixation by many white southerners. I would say that statement is truer of the south than of anywhere else in the US. As far as inbreeding, negative. I don't think there is a prevalence of that anywhere in the US that could be called geographic.
  16. On my last M4, I had to move the sight left as well, not quite as much, but still considerable, when I changed to aftermarket chokes. ANY aftermarket choke in it would pattern high/right, just like this Trulock did. I am curious to fire it with the stock choke, but I really see no point.
  17. I'm just basing my question off of a Yahoo news blog thing I saw on the Yahoo home page. That is how they painted Finland. I want to see if it is GENERALLY accurate, or a load of crap that only the author percieves due to his limited interaction.
  18. Are these what I saw years ago on the "M1 Practical/Tactical" with the 24+" barrel and huge mag-tube? What choke-tube is used? Who made/makes the choke? How does this unit work. Does the choke-tube have notches like the OEM choke that would mate with a Briley speed wrench, and then threads that this recoil reducer then threads onto? How much does it weigh (will it throw off balance of the M4). Is it recommended by you for the M4? Tell me more. Also, I am interested and would like photos. Price? Is this a carbon-copy of the OEM part, or have you modified/improved it in some way?
  19. You live in Finland? I heard that things in Finland were very different. Like, people don't care about "stuff" really. Govt. taxes the **** out of you, but gives you everything for free, and noone much worries about it. Life is more slow-paced, whatnot. True?
  20. Yep. You got it. I can have as evil of a shotgun as I want...provided enough of its little nethers are made in the US of A. Even if they are carbon-copies of imported parts. That is why Duggan and I keep stating...it is a rule applied mainly to manufactureres, not citizens. Noone has EVER been prosecuted for violation of 922R by itself. I have heard of it being an ADDED charge for an FFL dealer, IIRC at one point. Probably b/c they were modifying and then selling.
  21. Yes, slugs at 25y, I have used them out to 85y on paper w/good effect with my old M4.
  22. Kip's will be better.

    M4 zeroed

Got my m4 zeroed. I have always known there was a reason Benelli had a zero-able FS on these shotguns, this one was a bit off, but I think the trulock choke shifted zero over from where the Benelli one was. Every aftermarket choke I ever had shifts zero to the right, compared to Benelli. It shot about 2" right (25y) until I moved the sight over to where you see it. Now she is DEAD ON. Just needs a FL tube and optics!
  24. ----QUERY--- Thankyou! This has been most helpful. I will most likely purchase one by the end of the week. The other optic I was comparing it to was (as you could guess) an Aimpoint T1. I like the solar-power idea of the Z-point though. The problem with the T1 is I require a QD type mount, and the only QD type mounts for the T1 raise it too far above line-of-sight to get a good cheek weld with my M4 S90. Also, just to be totally sure about the rail, here is a picture of what Benelli M4 rails do to LaRue mounts and similar setups: http://i42.tinypic.com/1zyzs5v.jpg Has the repeat-zero (removal/replacement) been tested on the Z-point enough for you to quote a number "less than "X" MOA", or is it generally just not a problem? Also, in a worst-case scenario (simply because every now and then, stuff DOES happen and a machine is a machine), what is the warrenty turn-around time? (I live in the USA). Also, can the optic run without a battery installed at all, assuming it is started/kept in bright light for the duration of it's use? Again, thankyou immensely! _______________________________________________________ ---RESPONSE--- Hello XXXXXX, Thanks for the the pic. In terms of any formal test - not so sure. I can tell youI have had mine for a few years now on and off my Mossberg 590, M4 and SIG556. Not problems with anything strange going on. I have not bench tested it to check group sizes but when I am working reflex drills it hits most any size steel I am putting the dot on. Warranty time is fast - these go back to Germany for service but if it is anything really bad they should replace it for you. Not a big deal. Very Best Regards, Richard W. Moncrief
  25. Hello *NAME REMOVED*, I received the image of the Benelli Rials form *NAME REMOVED* and have some answers. - Z-Point on this rail is no problem. - Recoil is no problem - I shoot slugs through my Mossberg 590 with a Z-Point - not hundreds - but it has been no problem - repeatability is no problem. - Illumination. On a bright day or in a bright room it runs on solar only. When the light is low or you go from bright light to low light it auto-dims and kicks in the battery. (One of our sales reps used one in Iraq and it ran on the same battery for a year with it kicking on and off with changes in light for over a year.) Please let me know if this helps and feel free to contact me directly if I many be of any further assistance. Very Best Regards, Richard W. Moncrief
