I was unaware the M3 barrels came with chokes, I thought it was not threaded. Are you 100% sure it is an M3 barrel, or is my info faulty?
-
If he is competant, I would take the option you have discovered. I meant the latter.
-
You can buy another barrel and have it cut down for around $100 or so and re-threaded for chokes as well. Guy will also lengthen the forcing-cone, etc. You interested?
-
Sounds like an earlier model 11707 that got the 2-port barrel.
-
interchangeable chokes? I will guess 11707 as well. Take the stock off and see if it is a 2-position or 3-position tube.
-
How many gas-ports in the barrel? Pix of the weapon would be nice.
-
I am running a titanium tube and collapsible stock. The bolt-handle is all but unnoticeable. Just a technical number really. I have a buttstock shell-holder in black for the M4S90 if anyone wants it, It should arrive the 27th. I bought it before I knew I was getting the collapsible. I will post the model # when it comes in along with a price if there is any interest.

I see experiences like this. I see experiences like mine. Both come from competant people on both sides. I am forced to conclude that it is hit or miss with the Mesa/M4 combination.
-
Honestly? A 7-shot mag-tube and big pockets. Unless you want to carry those 3-gunner shot-shell holder things that clip to your belt. I don't want to make the M4 any fatter than it is, in fact, that is why I have shaved almost a pound of weight off of it over factory configuration. (or will have, when the parts arrive).
-
My experience was full of fail. Fit was horrid.
-
nah man...THIS is a REAL gunsmithing/manly tool!
-
Sucks. I was hoping to post a Youtube of my M4 slapping out 10 shots and making everyone wonder wtf!?
-
Alisske, Luckily I have NOT had to fire a shot in anger and hope I NEVER fire a shot in anger, no matter the situation. As I stated, many people have tested this ammo out to 25 yards and the patterning was horrid. At 25 yards I usually get a 18" pattern AT WORST from almost any OO I have shot. (With this stuff they were talking a lot worse than that). I find this to be "sub par". What you are saying is akin to saying that a LS6 powered Z06 'vette is "on par" with an Evo8 because they both went 0-60 in about the same amount of time. Nevermind that by the 1/4 mile they are about a second apart. See what I am saying? You didn't qualify the statement as in "for up close they work fine". As far as me "being out to get you" errr...no. Not out to get anyone. I accept your public apology, and apologize myself for the misunderstanding that has ensued. PS. I read this in the morning before ANYTHING ELSE had a chance to piss me off Ergo, your choice to leave the comments up that you posted so that I would indeed still read it, (instead of running a quick edit), while noted, was overlooked.

Good stuff! Might serve an application for very close (smaller homes/appartment like mine) when YOU NEED a bang every time, but I am still not a fan of the stuff based on what every test about it has shown.
-
This was based off of statements of another person who purchased the ammunition and posted a review about it. When it first hit the market at $1/round, it created a bit of a stir, and people wanted to know. Some enterprising soul went and bought a box (not me) and patterned it. Several people corraborated their test. I did not see fit to spend my money testing it.

Do you think it was the geometry of the shell, or lack of sufficient gas velocity to cycle the pistons/action? I figured the buckshot/birdshot wouldn't work based on the dram equivalent being around 2.5 IIRC, but I wondered about the slugs, except if it's a shell geometry issue, it obviously doesn't matter.
-
Then they better cart me off to jail, my M4's barrel is 18.5" . I belive 18" is the limit.
-
A small fee, a lot of cursing, and a replacement barrel would be my guess.
-
While I appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship, stuff like this just never seemed to do it for me. Beautiful work though!
-
Have you tried it? If so, which loads, and how far did it seem to lack in cycling? I have wondered about this one as well.
-
Don't speak with that smith again. That is a good starting point. Find one who will cut it/thread it correctly, etc. for you.
-
I did not answer your question because I didn't think I had to comment for you and everyone else to know the answer to it. I obviously do not have a 5.5mm wrench or it would have been already sent to the OP before he ordered one. As to the rest of your rant, I will just sit back and laugh, too funny.
-
I think this is the smallest real (not imaginary or intangible) item that drama has been created over thus far.

Please see the post 2 up. I did not do that job, although I wish I had the talent and with some practice I might could. From what I see, it's pretty easy.
