  1. Either way, the ammo in the link posted will pattern like ass. Guaranteed.
  2. It is not steel as far as I know. VERY poor patterns from this load as well. Good for nothing but looking at imho. Open up a shell and confirm for us, but I bet you find: just a cardboard disk, no buffer, and some soft lead OO pellets.
  3. Link to info on ammo? I have no experience there and don't wish to advise wrong.
  4. Tube should not get hot. Besides, you grab the tube at the furthest point from the reciever so as to apply more leverage with your twisting. Maybe it's not all those years of abusing myself, but rather the intelligent use of body mechanics that allows me to get away with never having had to use a strap wrench on my M4's.
  5. I too was left un-messaged.
  6. I would guess about as good as any other choke of it's design.
  7. So far THE slickest method I have seen was a piece of pic rail JB-welded to the barrel hanger ring closest the reciever and an M600C or equivalent slapped on it. The easiest method is to go to Optics Planet and buy their mag-tube mount. It is the same $75 mount that Benelli has on their website, but for $50. Have to remove it when you take your weapon down though. There is no *GOOD* solution as all the forearm rail systems currently marketed strike me as crap.
  8. Ah, one of the Benelli Faithful who ISN'T crucifying the Vinci.
  9. Chokes: Trulock IC Trulock MOD Benelli MOD The Trulock MOD moved POI w/slugs 48 clicks left of center. THe Benelli MOD was about 1/2 that The Trulock IC was all but dead-on mechanically. What I mean to say is: Change your choke...know your pattern/where it shifts to! Repeatability when removing/replacing the choke was to the point that one would not notice any shift. Slug accuracy is not to the point where you can tell (and I cut ragged hole groups). MOD and IC perform so close to the same as to not warrent the IC choke unless your MOD choke just DOESN'T like slugs. IC MAY be a bit more accurate, but not enough to matter out to 100m. Slugger Slugs were used. 1oz/1560fps. Buckshot reacted VERY predictably, as did birdshot. Patterns were about 50% larger with both. At 25 yards my pet load went from 12x14" patterns to something like 15"+ because they didn't hit paper (all of them) I don't know. IC is good out to @ 12 yards. MOD to 20. This assumes "Good" means: all pellets in chest cavity with a load your weapon likes. Every time. I have decided that I bought a SHOTgun to shoot SHOT. If I want a single freight-train projectile, there is a lever .45-70 in the closet and 405gr hard caste projectiles will do nicely. I will shoot buckshot through the M4. As such, I ordered an IM choke. Improved/Modified. A step below full. Basically, the tightest choke you can run steel through according to Trulock. The reason being I might run Hevi "T-SHot" through it for pests/coyote some day. I am predicting that my pet load with the 10 pellet OOO Buck patterns VERY SICK! through this choke. Pix to follow by the weekend. (CHoke arrives in a day or two.) Remington's OOO Buck is buffered, has 3% antimony, and is obviously a large pellet. They pattern VERY WELL for me. In every M4 I have had.
  10. If you can stand a 1-year wait time or wish to pay a $500+ over MSRP premium...get an AR-15 There, fixed it for you.
  11. Have you considered Corbon DPX for the .38? www.ammunitiontogo.com is the place I would buy, but I doubt they have what you want right now. Noone seems to
  12. That's only because he hurt his hand pretty bad a while back doing man-work. Not because he's girly, so don't go there.
  13. Or instead of blowing up over simple things you could have said something witty and humerous. Any number of things would have enhanced your rep, made us all laugh, and gotten a more favorable response. Example: *Duggan: "You have girly hands" *You: "Just because they are soft doesn't make them girly. Means I just use a higher grade of jergins during my Me Time than you do you cheap *******." See? Everyone would have gotten a chuckle, or at least cracked a smile and moved on. Instead, we get this. You seem very sensitive to harmless jibes for a man who claims to have made it through a USMC boot-camp (where, I learned, they do NOT teach one to fight, if my experience fighting with USMC green-belt instructors and the like is valid). 200# is kinda light for 6'3" unless it is pretty shredded. That puts you at a BMI that is roughly equal to mine, and I am a pretty small guy in my book. Then again, I hang out with people who most call monsters. What is your body fat % at? If you are rolling single-digits and 200#, that is pretty formidable! ETA: One time Duggan "insulted" the manliness of my hands. I don't think ANYTHING NEAR this rediculous occured.
  14. This is disturbing. Other than that, I would wager that Duggan would best you in any physical competition/fight as you obviously have no clue who he is yet you are making assumptions. I know Duggan pretty well, but I don't know you. Why don't you give us something to base our bets on? Stats? Pix? Anything?
  15. Ah. This explains my lack of knowledge regaurding them. Oh well. I will continue to use my heat-gun and hands to twist my stock Mag-tubes loose.
  16. +1 I found with this buckshot load in my other M4 that it likes more open chokes. My Trulock IC arrives tomorrow and I would like very much to run some through it in the afternoon. Stay tuned.
  17. I have decided to standardize on the 3" OOO Buckshot load from remington. Recoil is stiff, but not TOO bad. The payload is 10 .36 caliber projectiles of 3% antimony/lead which weigh aroun 70gr a piece. They impact with around 250# energy per pellet at the muzzle. This is reduced to around 170# or so at 50 yards. 10m The pictures/patterning speak for themselves. A Benelli M4 and a Trulock MOD choke were used for this test. I feel that this load, while sacrificing 1 shell payload due to the 3" length, is optimal. Lest you fear the penetration of OOO buck, I did more testing (20m distance on these 2 tests) for you... Through a car-door (metal, mid 80's crown vic) it retains enough energy to wound, and MAYBE kill. If soft tissue like the neck were hit, or it went through a part of the door that did not have any backing on the other side, it could kill perhapse. I would not make it my first choice to go through a door on an older car. 2x4's. It would barely penetrate 1 2x4 and either heavily dimple the one behind it, or imbed itself roughly flush in the surface. One of the other. To put this in perspective, the .45ACP JHP penetrated 2.5 and the 9mm JHP 3-3.5 and the 357SIG JHP around 4-4.5 boards. OOO Buck is not a horrid penetrator. It averages around 14-16" in gel/animals/whatnot. What you have to realise is that clothing and the skin on the back also factor. Skin on a person's back is the equivalent to about 2-4" of gelatin. Now factor maybe a leather jacket, etc. This isn't necessarily overkill at 16" penetration in gel. But what if it's the end of the world and everyone is out to get me and some guy with an AR is 75 yards way and my M4 and this OOO Buck that you like so much is all that I have got?!!? 75 yards is a long ways. Try to find 75 yards of open space with no cover that you are in on a daily basis. Go on. Try it. I doubt you can. However, I did this quick 3-shot test for you what-if guys. 3 shots were fired rapidly, as though I were shooting at something that could shoot back (I sighted carefully my first shot, then on the next two, I just let the sight picture drop down where it "looked good" and quickly sqeezed the shot off). Here are the results:
  18. All I needed was the heat-gun and lok-Tite (on both my M4's). What are you guys using a strap-wrench for?
  19. Lol, 5.0 GT's as well as the newer 05/06 GTO's had rear-spring sagging issues.
  20. I think he means it happens during shooting.
