I don't think this stuff would out perform 3.5" federal w/ flitecontrol and 2 1/4 oz of lead by much if any. I just wish the high density loads by federal were available with more than 1&7/8 oz of shot Thats high density and in a 3.5" shell it should be more like 2.5 oz of lead plus it is way to expensive for 5 shells.

For any idiots out there who still think birdshot is effective

Good argument, but, it would be almost impossible to find someone specifically killed from buckshot, through a door, and accidentally because it is narrowing it down pretty far. Some people used pistols, rifles for HD, some people live by themselves, some people have hardwood solid doors, some people use birdshot, slugs. I am pretty sure you put a bigger bolt release on your M4 (I know at least Duggan did) and this is because in the case you have to use it for its intended purpose, you don't think as strait. It will be hard to slow down and think about your surroundings when they guy attacking you comes around the corner and is 10- yards and closing fast. Factors that make this worse is low light, panic. I aree with what you said, shoot to kill. If you shoot a guy in the foot, or just wound him he still has the ability to kill you and your life is way to important to risk. -
Will it harm a rifled choke to shoot rifled slugs?

Duggan didn't say, he asked. Duggan is just a funny guy, and guess what, I don't think thats a real baby Uno, I am going to play devil's advocate to. If buckshot has so much penetration, I would think it would penetrate through a door with killing power left, and certainly a hollow door. When you have 9 or more 00 pellets with relatively open chokes it puts a high risk to your family. And you would probably shoot until the guy falls good and dead, you would probably be putting 27 scattered pellets all over the place While I use #1 buck now, I just want to see how you respond. The point of you using buckshot, is to stop the person trying to cause harm to you and your family. If it can penetrate doors with Killing power and harms your family just like the intruder, doesn't that defeat the purpose? -
More damage = better kill. Why do they design expensive broad heads to cause as much damage as possible? Why don't you just use a .17 for deer hunting?

Ok I agree with you about using buckshot now, but it is kind of hard to say, wait mister intruder! can you stop attacking and move a step to the left so I don't kill my family? You may not have the time or level head during this type of situation to check your surroundings. -
Yea I better stop, especially now that Obama is president, I will probably get all my guns taken away

It is close but, energy is not the only factor. Diameter is what I am talking about. A slug is twice as big in diameter. That makes a bigger hole. If I am correct, the slower a bullet goes while still going all the way through the deer, the more damage it does. The longest shot I can take it the woods is about 60 yards. A slug should have plenty of energy from their.

Lets not start this Novaking, if you are going to argue at least do it with good taste. This is just trying to pick a fight and is beside the point. I don't mean to offend you in any way. -
Knowing me, if I were to do that, I would sell the gun and then not be able to find one cheaper
-
Let us know how that works out/how the slugs performed. I am thinking about trying a rifled choke with sabot slugs. I don't shotgun deer hunt much I normally use a 30-06. But I am thinking about using slugs in the brush because I can't take very far shots there anyways, and a slug will hit alot harder.

The hardest part about clay pigeon hunting is finding all the pieces after you shoot them

Looks like some lucky seller out their just got their money back and then some for their M4!

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/60353-5.html It is a slug made for shooting people. Even if they had "Peopleshot" they would make safe shot which is smaller and wont go through walls and normal shot the size off buck shot and the arguments don't stop. -
An improved cylinder or modified choke, and rifled slugs such as federal truball, Or if you want to use sabot slugs (which I would not in a smooth bore) get a rifled deer choke and I reccomend Hornady SST sabot slugs.

The flitecontrol wad stays with the shot longer. As you can see in the picture, the wad does not have cuts in the shot column so it can open up, it is solid to keep it super tight. The wad is also heavier which with my testing the wads flew 2X as far as the old wads meaning they can keep up with the shot longer. This means it patterns like you are closer to the target/turkey. The flaps that open up in the back are so the wad flies strait and doesn't off set the pattern, just like fletching/feathers on an arrow. Good luck.

I am not sure, the Benelli choke is tighter than the factory recommended restriction, and it is ported which is also not factory recommended, but they should still pattern much more than ok regardless.

I have a similar problem shooting trap with my M2. When I load a shell into the chamber, I have to be sure and leave it in the chamber, and not resting at the bottom of the receiver. If I do, the shell will hang up. I do not have this problem with doubles or multiple rounds.

People that play games like that where you simply blow people's heads off non stop, really must have something wrong in there head. Did you here that lady at the end of that video? "A new cure for crying children...smothering." -
federal mag shok with flitecontrol, and just about any extended, non ported, .665 constriction choke gives me the best results.
-
It's fashionable because it has a silver receiver with gold accents, and functional because it has a 3.5" chamber.

Finally got to shoot the thing! Ok here is what I thought: recoil is about the same as an 1100 which is heavier and gas operated. I like the in-line ID system, because you don't have to take apart that awe full recoil tube to give it a complete cleaning. It had a funny feel to me, not particularly good, not particularly bad, just funny. Didn't seem any lighter than my M2, although it is supposed to be. I still hated the looks. I hope they put the In-line ID system in the next generation of Benellis.

Yea I know but I am very law abiding compared to most of the people around here. I saw a game warden's decoy deer that looked so fake it was ridiculous and it was filled with bullet wholes.
