Improved Cylinder or Light Modified is what I use.

No please explain

If eye relief is a big deal, then like tucker said a dot scope has way more eye relief than a rifle style scope.
-
Have you heard the song dust in the wind? Doesn't the earth and sky last forever
-
What is it?
-
OMG!!!!! tucker, the biggest contributor to this forum not a Benelli owner Are you considering selling your SBE for another gun?
-
Wait, you shoot wing and clays w/ a scope with good results?
-
I doubt you will get less replies because of that, if you want I will start one.
-
You cant get a slug barrel with ghost ring sights in 18" but you can get a barrel with ghost ring sights but it isnt rifled. You could shoot slugs through it but they wouldn't be that accurate. You can get rifle sight slug barrels.
-
Yea I know what you mean. I think if you have more than 3" of eye relief you should be fine, 4" is plenty.
-
You can use rifle scopes on a shotgun, but they may not have enough eye relief. IMO Luepold is the best, and I would be fine with a busnell or a nikon. Check out this link to shot gun scopes: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/common/search/search-results1.jsp?Ntk=Products&QueryText=shotgun+scope&sort=all&Go.y=0&_D%3AhasJS=+&Nty=1&hasJS=true&nyr=1&Ne=5233&N=4899+5234&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23&Go.x=0&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1

Place to get a M2 Comfortech stock at a reasonable price.
Trapshooter1 replied to Horten's topic in Benelli
I do like the soft comb, and shim kit on the comfortech, but I think the chevrons are more for looks. As far as recoil, a limbsaver pad does make more difference than the comfortech. -
Yes it is true, I hear the extended factory Benelli chokes pattern tighter, so I would have to pattern the gun with the choke and loads you are using to get a sure answer. When in doubt go tighter.
-
Most modern guns, especially relatively expensive guns like benellis are steel shot ok. Not all the choke tubes are though, check the readings on the choke tubes and if they say "steel shot ok" then you can use steel shot with that choke, If the choke tube says "no steel shot" then don't use steel shot in that choke.
-
Doesn't look that way, sory. The M2 comes in left hand but is expensive compared to the 2000.

I believe the mag tube is held on by lock tight. You need to heat it with a heat gun and use a strap wrench if needed to remove it.
-
A slip on pad can be permanent, but not worthy of a beautiful wood stock. On cabelas, all they have for the montrefeltro is the limbsaver for montrefeltro and it specifies 12 gauge.

steel shot and black cloud choke tube.

I found the restriction, it is .030 aka light full. -
No problem, and good luck with your Benelli.
-
Aint that the truth. I have heard so many people blame the shells or the choke, or how the machine throws. I tell them with at least half an ounce of lead, a familiar gun and at least a mod choke it is 99% In your head.

Stalking is tricky you have to be very careful. I sit in the low light of the morning, and then after it lights up if I get no response from calling I walk very careful. The land I hunt on is a bunch of open field with thin walls of brush every 100 yards. This helps because I can walk up to the walls and look through to see if there is a turkey on the other side. If so I set up a decoy and sit just in the woods off to the side, and try to call it in. It is a great place to hunt about 300 acres of open field and God only knows how much woods. I wish I could deer hunt on it so bad

If it is a pop in recoil pad, flip the gun recoil pad up. push the bottom of the recoil pad towards the top with a lot of pressure, then pull up. You will need a 13mm deep socket to remove or loosen the stock.

He said rifled slugs. As I hope you know (because you recommended them) they are sabot, not rifled. I wouldn't shoot a sabot slug at a deer in a smooth bore.
