#1 yes you can remove the recoil tube from your m4. its tricky w/out marring/scratching the tube. you need to heat it near the threads and use a vice w/ something wrapped around the receiver and your tube to get it off. its on there pretty tight. #2 mag tubes are for sale all day long on GUNBROKER.COM GOOD LUCK
