Hi lomu and welcome to the forum. Is your M4 a 11707 or 11717 model (the most recent) if so, your existing tube has the cuts for a c-stock already and you shouldn't need anything additional other than the stock and grip. Your model # is printed on the end panel on the box where all the little bar codes are. Later, Hookster

Hi Ron, There can be a bit of variation between the overall lengths of different brands of 2 3/4" shells. A little extra length per shell mutiplied over six rounds in the tube will make it impossible to get the 7th in the tube. You should be able to get 7 rds in with your +2 extension. You might want to look at a couple brands of shells if you have them on hand and compare length. Btw...You are going to love your Carriercomp tube! Later, Hookster

Hey T-Boy, Yeah....gas cylinder wrench and combo tool fit the Socom the same as standard M1A, No problem! I'm hoping to hit the range in the morning tomorrow if the weather improves. The gas cylinder shimming went great and I also have the Sadlak TIN coated piston and NM Op spring guide in place. I'm looking forward to seeing what these mods will do to my groups sizes. I've got some Federal Gold Medal and Hornady Match 168 gr. that I'm going to break out too! Later, Hookster

Hey T-Boy, I got the gas cylinder shimmed and everything back together no problem. The muzzle brake was an easy remove/replace, the gas cylinder required a bit of persuasion to get off but not too bad. I hit the magic combo of shims on the 3rd try (.005" + .010" was just right) Can't wait to get to the range now and try it out! Now I'll have to do the SOCOM too! Later, Hookster

Yeah....I'll be getting one for my M1 and M4. Shorter LOP will be sweet and having a riser for the M4 will finally get me off my a** about getting an optic (Aimpoint T1 or Trijicon RMR) on there. It'll be nice to get my factory grips back on too Later, Hookster
