  1. For range and break in, WallyWorld is always a pretty good option. Whatever full power 00 and Rifled Slugs they have should do you fine. After a good break in, you can move on to low recoil and bird shot. I haven't found anything that my M4 won't feed but others have reported some issues with various low recoil rounds. Keeping your gun properly lubed helps. For defense I'm a fan of the Federal Tactical 00 with Flight Control Wad. They make this in an 8 pellet and a 9 pellet and I've found that the 9 pellet shells are just a tad longer and limit capacity by one round in my Carrier Comp extened tube. YMMV. The 8 pellet is fine. Like any of the low recoil stuff you will want to test them out before you buy a ton in case it doesn't feed in your gun. Prices and sources vary so it's always best to search the interwebz for supply and best current prices. But as I said, WallyWorld is always a pretty reasonble source for range ammo if they have it in stock. Double check your choke to make sure it's tight before you shoot. And you may want to check it periodically if you're shooting a lot of rounds. Make sure the gun is unloaded when you do this.
  2. Pretty sure you can find a lot of recommendations with the 3 Gun crowd: http://3gunnation.com/ I believe it's a pretty standard mod for their sport and the M2 is often the go to shotgun for them.
  3. Suggest you spend a little time with the search function on the FFT handguard/forend, FFT hammer/trigger pack, and the Geissele hammer so that you can make an informed decision on these. Some issues have been reported.
  4. What do slugs and buckshot do to steel targets at ranges under 50 yds?
  5. Search Grasshopper. Much has been written on this subject. Here's a search word to get you started, "Carriercomp." All you need to know will be revealed. *fades out with the wind mysteriously*
  6. My forend was a big fat miss. And with these latest issues, I'm starting to get a clearer picture on both the quality of FFT's products and their general business philosophy. And while they seem perfectly willing to take back anything that the customer isn't happy with, I don't believe I'll be purchasing anything from them in the future.
  7. So I picked up 50 rounds of Federal Law Enforcement Tactial 00 with Flight Control to try out in my M4. These are the 2 3/4, 9 Pellet shells. Except the shells are actually just slightly longer than normal 2 3/4 shells. Has anyone else noticed this? The difference is enough to limit my capacity by one round...which I'm really not happy about. Federal also makes this round in an 8 pellet shell. Does anyone have these or have experience with them? I'm wondering if they're shorter than the 9 pellet version? FYI...I'm running a Carrier Comp extended mag tube.
  8. Seriously? You take one example...and an example where we know aboslutely nothing about the weapon in question and that is your justification for saying that the whole entire weapon system is a POS? That's like me saying this article on the BCM Filthy 14... http://www.slip2000.com/art-swat2.html ...proves that the AR platform is the best out there and far superior to ANYTHING else. You can find good and bad examples on any platform out there. ANY PLATFORM. And I'm not saying the AR is good...or bad. But if you're going to make such an accusation...that an entire platform is a POS...you should at least be able to back it up with a lot more substantial data than that ridiculous link you posted. Geez. What a troll. You took 5 minutes of my life and I want it back!
  9. Wow...who dusted this thing off? It's pretty straight forward. Good set of snap ring pliers and follow the instructions. I can't remember if I got my pliers at Home Depot or Sears but they came with multiple tips. Work great. It's worth the drive for the right tool on this one. Good luck!
  10. Ooooh...make sure you post some pictures of that bad boy when you're done! =)
  11. You understand that there are issues with the factory Benelli rail though, right? It's not to spec. Some folks have had issues with optics and things falling off. It's not an issue, obviously, if you never intend to use it or don't care too much about what you're hanging off of it. Peace
  12. No, SUREFIRE makes the price go up There's no doubt that they put out a quality product but man, sometimes I just think they're crazy with some of their prices. I gave you a couple ideas on the Calgun board. =) Peace
  13. +1! And that's a very dangerous statement for Brownells. Their catalog is huge! So is my "want" list
  14. Do yourself a favor and take a trip down to Home Depot or Sears. Buy a pair of snap ring pliers. I was able to find an adjustable pair. It came with a number of different pins that can be swapped out. Should handle a wide variety of snap rings. All for under $20. Having the right tool makes life so much easier. Remember, you have to get the ring back in once you get it out. Not quite sure how you do that (easily) with just a screw driver. Peace

    M4 case/bag

+1 on the Pelican Case. I have a 1720 with closed cell foam from these guys: http://www.casesbypelican.com/pelican_gun_cases.htm But sometimes it's overkill...heavy, bulky, etc. Been looking for a soft case option lately. Thinking about this: http://www.511tactical.com/All-Products/Bags-Backpacks/Cases/42-Double-Rifle-Case.html Not sure of the quality though. 5.11 generally makes ok stuff. Uses YKK zippers which is a good sign.
  16. Awesome. Glad I could help you out a little too. Thanks again for the info. Peace
  17. Are these the O rings. Brownells has both of these: Firing Pin Retaining Pin O Ring http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=6388/Product/FIRING_PIN_RETAINING_PIN__O_RING Gas Plug O Ring http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=23649/Product/GAS_PLUG_O_RING
  18. Good info. Thank you. Does the Briley speed wrench work on the factory choke or do you need to replace it with a Briley?
  19. Awesome...thanks! I like the Sig porn too :-)
  20. So I had my trigger assembly out over the weekend and was eyeballing the snap ring on the end of the hammer pivot. I noticed its the kind that do not have any holes at each end for snap ring pliers to seat into. So what's the best way to take that off? And does it compress or expand to remove? I'm assuming expand??
  21. Maybe so but that's some funny S *# T right there.
