1. I totally agree. When I bring my M4 to the range, the best part is converting non-Benelli owners over with one tube full of shot; most can hardy believe that you're granting them a turn with such a perfectly crafted piece of shooting pleasure. No one ever refuses and everyone walks away with a grin from ear to ear. I have been doing this since the 80's with my M1 and will continue to share the goodness with my fellow firearm enthusiasts. I would like to thank everyone on this forum for all the excellent information that has saved me time and money. God Bless.
2. I just installed the Taran Tactical reduced power hammer spring in my Benelli M4. It reduced the trigger wieght from 7.5#s to 4.5#s with the Geissele hammer in place. I am going to have to wait until the weekend to see how it runs with various types of ammo.
3. Sign me up for the drawing. It will be the perfect excuse for me to buy a 2nd M4, and thank you for such an excellent product.
4. The ARGO system is a gas operated two piston system that will function with the majority of commercial shotgun loads, while the SLP requires the changing out of pistons to function properly with loads of different power.
5. My Benelli M4 with Geisssel Hammer breaks at 7.5# (Stock 7#) Trigger Pulls from my other long guns SIG 556R 4.5# with Shooting Sight trigger & Scorro Springs (Stock 8#) FS2000 7.5# with Nue-Trigger (Stock 9.5#) SCAR 17 3.5# with Geissel Super SCAR Trigger (Stock 6.25#) PS90 7# with Stock Trigger According to my Timney trigger pull gauge. 6. http://www.gunpartscorp.com/ad/980390.htmWhen I modified my C-stock, first the MESA (requires drilling) and next for the GG&G (requires milling); I bought a spare grip core for $42 for each job, so that I can always go back to OEM at any time.
7. The GG&G single point sling mount is designed to work with the standard pistol grip stock that attaches to the end of the recoil tube and can be adjusted to accommodate the 2.5mm GG&G Plate. The C-Stock pistol grip attaches to the threads at the beginning of the recoil tube and cannot be adjusted.
8. I sandwiched the core between two sheets of steel in a vise to control depth and used a hand grinder. This Mod finally puts an end to the rolling reciever issue that I was having with the Mesa sling point.
9. There is a slight difference in length, but not much. Tne Grip is on tight and the mount is solid.
10. I like it better then the Mesa Grip QD. It is a better balance point for a sling attachment. The PMM SCAR QD mount does not work with the size of the GG&G loop. Milled 2.5mm the shape of plate face from the polymer pistol grip.
11. 13/16 & 7/8 inch snap rings work perfect on the slotted Surefire P2X & P3X Tail Caps. Only .04 cents each. I have an extra dozen; so if any forum members need one, send me a PM with your mailing address and I will send it gratis.
12. As a rule of thumb. All new firearms should be cleaned of all factory preservatives and lubricated according to the use manual. Personally, after the break in period of a few hundred rounds, I start to lightly grease the contact areas showing the most wear. On my Benelli M4, I use Weapon Shield grease on the reciever slots that the bolt rides in. Someone else will have to ring in on the ammunition, since I do not have first hand knowledge on the subject.
13. Yes, the criminal justice system is big business in the USA, and one of the largest employers. Even if you manage to avoid a jail sentence, the fines they will levy would surely make you reconsider any further violations. By the way, ITAR laws help protect American Companies from patent infringement and out right counterfeiting.
14. Nice setup. Does the extra 2 rounds on the forend interfere with you grip?
15. There is a huge difference in surface contact area between the to different styles of Surefire P series tailcaps. The newer style is sloted instead of stippled; fortunately there are 2 groves at each end that will accommodate a snap ring. I just order a 300 ring variable size set of steel heat treated snap rings for $12, that is only 4 cents each. Once I match the correct size, I will post my findings.
16. I tried that first but my postal scale max is 11 lbs. All it read was EEEEEEEE. I will weight the other items seperately. Damn, I wish I would have thought of that earlier.
17. What type of loctite did you use and how many inch/pounds did you torque the screws to? I am hopeing to get mine out this weekend, and have installed my P2X with red (medium) loctite and torqued the screws to 25 inch/pounds.
18. I sold my M1, and I still regret selling it to this day. I like the recoil operating system and may have to buy a M3 to teach myself a lesson. I will post a few links were I geared mine up at. http://davesmetalworks.com/m12.html http://www.gggaz.com/tactical-shotgun-accessories/benelli-specific-accessories.html http://freedomfightertactical.com/products-page/m1/ http://www.surefire.com/dsf-m1-m2-shotgun-forend.html http://www.burrisoptics.com/speedbead.html
19. I think the point everyone is trying to make is that if this member wants a Sidearmor rail; he should come the USA and buy one. Not try to rope some dope into getting in trouble to save him a buck. Personally, I like Sidearmor products and wish him the best of luck getting another one. I for one do care when someone who is unwittingly encouraged to risk incarceration and fines because someone once told someone that it is legal to do it and that makes it okay. I could care less about ever calling the police; I for one always take care of my own business. However, this does not mean I like seeing people taken advantage of.
20. I think that I will be heading to the Home Depot, to buy a few more power tools. I job worth doing is a job worth doing right. You gent's are great, and this forum is full of invaluable real life knowledge that is hard to come by on todays internet.
21. Thanks for all the great advice, I am new at performing custom modifications to my firearms. I end up buying and selling accessories like no tomorrow, always looking for that gem that will stand the test of time and hardship of field use. I do not have a mill yet, but will do as SD suggested with miter box and vice. Thanks again and I'll keep everyone posted.
22. Yes, the PMM is rotational limited, and there is plenty of room to shave down the pistol grip. I am expecting a flush fit. When I installed the Mesa QD, I purchased an extra factory pistol grip, locking block, and roll pin for about $60 in case I wanted to go back to the factory setup without having a hole or pretruding bolt. Your AVA mount is the best thing since sliced bread.
23. I am starting a C-stock QD project myself. Just waiting for the gg&g rear HK sling loop plate to arrive. It does not fit because the locking nut cannot be adjusted on the C-stock pistol grip. I will shave off an equal amount of polymer off the base of the pistol grip to equal the thickness of the sling loop plate. Next, I already have an extra PPM SCAR QD swivel to attach to the loop. Hopefully this will help with sling roll effect. I will post photos and review when finished.
