As StrangerDanger posted. It’s a general rule of thumb. Not sure it’s the perfect idea, but it’s worked for me. I would guess I applied about 25 inch pounds, I’d you need a number. And that is with the thread locker, if threads were dry, torque would be about 10% higher. A torque spec chart I have lists 2.48 n*m for that size fastener. that works out to be 21.9 inch pounds

Snug then about 1/8 turn I used blue thread locker

I spoke with StrangerDanger about some of the differing hues that seem to pop up on receivers. Thought I would share my recent acquired m-1014 with a “blue” receiver. He stated he had never seen this. While it’s an oddity, I love it . Before someone asks, no, it’s not the lighting or flash.

The holes won’t be an issue. I would check the inside of the receiver to check for burrs. Plugs can be fitted to the holes to prevent intrusion of debris. I can’t answer the barrel question, but I think they matched, leaving the factory

Sounds as if the oil is gummed up.

Coat the barrel with oil and let it soak in overnight

Very nice Ordered one of those mounts for my new m4. Not sure if I’ll run a ModLite or not. I plan on running a ModLite switch that will be on the opposite side handguard

Any noticeable wear on the bolt? Those rails certainly don’t look the greatest
