  1. Here's the real lesson, buy an AK if you want to shoot in -20
  2. RxArms

    Intro

I still get a smile on my face every time I pick up my M4... wish I could do it for the first time again
  3. Bit bigger than 0.5”, at 0.55” diameter, long enough to sufficiently clear a bolt release button also. Handle portion itself is 0.99” long.
  4. Shameless plug… I’d like to throw my offering into the ring, it keeps the weight of the handle at the OEM weight, 12g, while giving a much bigger handle for operating. Ti handle and stainless steel tang to prevent wear from the detent. (https://rxarms.com/product/benelli-m4-titanium-steel-tactical-charging-handle/) the TTI handle weighs 28 grams, although I do admit they have a nice design, at the sacrifice of weight. The GG&G 3/4” steel weighs around the same. this year I’ll be offering my design in 4140 hardened steel also. Estimated to be around 17-18 grams, and same locking design (which is similar to TTI locking). Probably in June 2022 I will have stock
  5. Just FYI, I am getting many of these springs custom made for my up and coming 6 position recoil tube, in T302 stainless spring wire, the idea that it sells for $22 on some retailer websites is almost criminal, I know how much these are to make... It isn't quite worth the hassle for me to sell them individually to those that want it, but I might sell packs of 4 or 5 for $10-$15 in the future for spare parts if there's demand for it. Fastenal and Mcmaster does not have the size that is needed. The ring is actually around 17.8mm OD free, and 15.5mm ID free. The gap is about 8.5mm or so. when compressed, the ID reaches 15mm inside the tube, to retain the plunger. -Robb
  6. Why not buy one? they are in Canada from all the Turkish guns here, here’s an example: https://www.londerosports.com/firearms/canuck-6-12-ga-barrel-extension pm me if you want some help getting it sent to you. I may be able to do that.
  7. This is fairly normal for skeet/trap clubs. The longer the barrel the quieter it is also. It is the same rules up here in canada. would be pretty sweet to get a 24” barrel on the M4 so it can be turned easily into a trap gun. ive never used the extensions but I have seen them before on turkish guns, I think they work well enough.
  8. Thank you for the mention! Mine and TTI both lock in similar manner, mine is more than 1/2 the weight of the TTI though. But titanium is pricey and it ain’t getting any cheaper. im going to be releasing a cheaper steel version soon, but will be heavier than the titanium.
  9. Metal has been ordered. Don't want to get too optimistic on pricing as I am still waiting on the cost of making the spring retaining ring. But is looking like will be less than $150 USD at the moment which was my goal. But I wanted your guys' opinion on something. Was thinking about laser engraving the stock positions on the flat portion. Rough idea attached. Yay or Nay?
  10. Pretty sweet looking weapon…
  11. Well, I am releasing a 6 position CNC recoil tube in 2-3 months time… just shameless plugging
  12. I would try to gently break that extractor free. I think its stuck on the snap cap. imo.
  13. I tried to orentate my bolt the same as yours, I don’t see any twisting, but I could be wrong, it looks similar to my bolt at the rotation angle. more pics and closer up would be useful.
  14. a wooden dowel down the barrel and trying to force it out would be my first idea. I am guessing the dummy rounds are out of spec or something got deformed on the dummy round I would be lubing it a lot, down the barrel, before trying to force anything out. Another idea, try to get the extractor to release. Again, add lube.
  15. I agree with all the comments, thanks for the input everyone I’ll likely stay away from cerekoting.
  16. Nitride will be happening, but in addition to nitride, I also may Cerekote it. (so both is a possibility). However, nitride does provide a better lubicity surface, which may be more suitable for this recoil tube. It will be more of a black shade though, darker than the current greyish OEM.
  17. Hey guys, finally worked out all the details on this, I will be moving ahead on it. Target price will be between 150-180USD. CNC machined, black nitride finish for sure, possibly cerekote also if tolerances allow for it. I’ll be updating this page as progress moves along, I’m probably around 2-3 months out. www.rxarms.com if u would like to notified when it is in stock.
  18. Not all of them will have issues, definitely don’t give up on it before you even have it. I will say this, holding a brand spanking new M4 in your hand is an experience like no other. A used older one is great obviously, but a new one is a beautiful thing.
  19. Polymer trigger guard is actually more impact resistant than the aluminum.
  20. Just got another M4, this one is brand new unfired. It is amazing how the detent in the bolt, is a lot looser than my older M4 that is probably well over 15 years old. my older one is an aluminum trigger group, new one is polymer. The new OEM bolt handle is sloppy, due to the lack of spring force in the detent, old M4 the OEM handle is very solid in place with more force from the spring. Is this normal for newer M4s? Just thought it was an interesting development. I wanted an older one and newer one for R&D. I will take a look at it in more detail later, I'll try and loosen up the detent with some oil and see if that helps. An interesting observation regarding perhaps the lack of quality control present in new production models.
  21. The obvious answer is a Benelli M4! If she can’t hold it up tell her to lift some weights
  22. I’m getting a batch cerekote right now, should be available next week.
  23. Honestly, I wouldn’t be happy paying the coin I paid, for a black glossy barrel that is not classic look. Just me.
  24. Whenever I have a problem with my M4 it is because it is too dry. Lube the bolt carrier rails and it will function as good as new in my experience.
