I already have the choke so not inclined to change it out. I'm still curious so I sent an email to Briley to see if they would provide the dimensions on their One Shot extension.

As I understand it the 922R compliance only becomes an issue if you are going from a 5 round magazine to an 7 round magazine or if you have the collapsible stock. If the M4 is stock with a pistol grip stock and a 5 round magazine then no need to worry about 922R. It only becomes an issue if your M4 has either/or both mods.

Great, thank you guys. Good thing I checked?

I'm thinking of getting the Briley One shot extension. Since I have the Carlson Breaching choke I think there will be enough length on the barrel but Briley's web site doesn't give any specs on how long the One shot extension is. Anyone have one that they can measure for me? Thanks !

I don't have the FFT extended carrier so I can't compare but I went with the Taran Tactical. I figured Taran has a lot of experience in the 3 Gun Nationlas and has a history with some of the best 3 Gun champions using their product. As an added bonus it is less expensive than FFT and TTI charges less in shipping. ?

Great! Pretty much what I thought. Thanks!

Got some range time yesterday. Surprise..... didn't think to check capacity before going to the range but turns out I could only get 6 rounds of 2.75" Federal slugs in the magazine. Performed just fine though. I didn't have time when I got home to investigate the reason but will get some time next week. I don't think the extended follower is the problem. It slides over the spring pretty easily so shouldn't take up any more spring length. I'll probably swap the FFT follower back just to make sure. I'll have to double check the spring provided by Briley with the tube. Definitely longer then the factory spring that came with the 5 round tube but that is expected. So other than cutting a full coils off the Briley spring anything else I should look for?

Well I do have some Briley customer loyalty points stacking up...........?

Many thanks for all the knowledge sharing on the this forum which helped me personalize my M4. Upgrades: Collapsable stock, Limbsaver pad, FFT bolt handle, Briley CF mag tube with Nordic extended follower, GG&G bolt release, FFT trigger pack with A&S Trigger guard, TTI extended safety, TTI extended carrier, Carlson breach choke, Tango Arms stippled forearm, and Meprolight night sights.

Installing a Limbsaver 10403 on a Benelli M4 Collapsible Stock
GTTom replied to StrangerDanger's topic in Benelli
Many thanks to StrangerDanger for this thread. Did my Limbsaver install and really like the outcome. Just a coupe of details. I drilled a small hole first in the new Limbsave stock and followed up with a 1" whole saw bit. I marked the location to drill using a similar technique as SD. Used a marker taped to a wooden dowel going down through the collapsible stock tube. If I did it again I'd probably try one of the suggestions of putting something on the end of the recoil tube such as chalk, grease or marker to transfer the exact drill location. I found that when I was ready to mount the new limb saver pad that a couple of internal rubber parts in the Limbsaver were interfering with the end of the recoil tube. The pad would not sit flush. I used a razor knife to remove some of the internal rubber and now the pad does not interfere with the recoil tube when fully retracted. To attach the new Limbsaver pad Instead of using new allen head screws I chose to use phillips head screws. As SD mentions 16mm X .7 pitch are perfect. -
Man that stinks. Hopefully ShootingSight will take it back and refund your money. Maybe reinstall the Benelli hammer and get a different USA part towards 922R compliance? I went with FFT trigger pack and A&S tiger guard. Everything fits awesome. Really love the quality A&S trigger guard.

I picked up the extended follower from Midway USA. It looks to be the same one that TTI sells and is made by Nordic. Here is a comparison of the Benelli, FFT and Nordic followers. I didn't get a chance to try the FFT follower at the range but figured for cheap money I'd just go with longer Nordic follower. It feels even smoother than the FFT when you push it in the magazine tube by hand. Definitely no hang up. I'm hitting the range tomorrow to confirm. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1005310056?pid=660691

I used the Powerbuilt tool from Amazon to install the spring clip today. The tip was just a tad wide. It probably would be fine with a little fiddling but I decides to grind/file little bit off one side of the jaws and it fit great without slipping.

Another fan here of A&S Trigger guard. I like the A&S solution for the safety spring mounting.

So if the M3 style trigger guard pin spring is easier to remove for maintenance any idea why Benelli went to the M4 style pin spring? Any noted failures with the M3 clip? Does the M4 spring hold better? I already am invested in the snap ring tool plus two spare M4 style pin springs so I'm not changing but inquiring minds want to know....... ?

? I own quite few Sigs and spent a lot of time over on SigTalk. Mostly into semi custom 1911s now so haven't been there in awhile.

Sorry I don't have any answer for your questions. Maybe a more experience member can chime in. I'm glad you found a work-around. Unfortunately past experience has taught me that just buying the right tool up front will save me extra time and money in the long run. I'll buy a tool even if I don't think I'll use it again. Of course I don't always follow my own intuition. Case in point I was able to remove the pin spring with a generic snap ring pliers. Broke the first set of replaceable tips on the pliers but after a couple of tries got the spring off......well it actually got itself off by shooting itself across the room?. So I went and bought a more expensive set of snap ring pliers to reinstall. Worked OK but spread the ring a little too far and broke the spring in half. ? So now after ordering a new spring clip and spending $13.00 on shipping I finally find this thread and hopefully got the right tool. Good thing I like to tinker and didn't need the M4 for awhile ?

I Just ordered these from Amazon. I let you know how they work when I finish my trigger upgrade next weekend. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002INOFSA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Do you still have your order in? I wouldn't cancel it because when the Limbsavers become available at least you will be in line to get the first orders that are filled. You can always cancel it later if something comes up in the mean time.

I ordered mine from Optics Planet. I just received it last week. Delivery took just under 3 weeks. I just checked their website and it is taking orders and says 1 - 9 days delivery time. Of course that is what it said when I ordered mine 3 weeks ago.

You might want to try the SigTalk forum. Wealth of knowledge over there.

I don't know the specific model number breakdowns but here is a link to a LEO price list I found on line of the different Sigs. https://www.state.nj.us/treasury/purchase/pdf/t0106/Line21-SigSauerFirearms-SigSauerInc.pdf

Send the hammer back and get the FFT forearm. It is cheaper than the hammer and gets you one more 922r piece?. Yes it can be a money pit...... in a good way ?
-
Sorry I see that I used the wrong terminology. You were indeed referring to the hammer not the trigger. I think your problem is actually the catch end does look different (larger area) then the original. I just replaced my trigger group (hammer, sear, trigger) with the kit from FFT and laid my hammer on top of the original part and it was exactly the same size/shape. I did use the A&S Trigger guard to replace the polymer Benelli piece and I am impressed with the fit and finish of the A&S part. I can't say if the Shooting Sight part is out of spec or if the polymer trigger housing is causing the new part to be slightly out of alignment.
