    Rmr vs t2 for m4

Update on the metal cap situation. The Aimpoint factory T-2 cap will NOT fit. Only the Knight's double battery cap. The threads are the same but the o-ring seal and depth is different. Nice, Rooftop? I am thinking about the Arisaka angled mount The scalar works sidekick looks awesome as well but its too far tucked in for me.
  2. You can probably source the missing hardware domestically. The sights are very likely designed and made by Benelli's partner vender LPA Italy.

Yup. If you buy from amazon or eBay you are going to have a bad time. Funny thing I discovered this fake P-2 the other day on Newegg:
  4. Since nobody put comparison pictures yet, here's the two side by side from some old threads:

FYI be aware there's tons of airsoft fakes floating around. I remember somebody on another forum was scalping these like crazy. They would either sell the cap without packaging or keep the real cap and put in the faux cap with the real packaging. Heck, this basically applies to most gear. I know there's quite a few fake Unity fast mounts that got passed around recently.
  6. 5 MOA is the way to go. The idea to start with a smaller dot and brighten it so you get a bigger MOA is pretty backwards. Not only does it have that blooming effect as mentioned above, but also it kills your battery life.

Also here's a size comparison of the P-2 and CompM5S. Sorry no T-2 as the gun it is on is in service at the shop. There's a few comparison pictures on Arfcom. Also got to visit Holosun. Their service is fantastic and friendly.

The cap I ordered doesn't work. P-2 thread size looks like it is M25 x 0.5. The 12903 thread size looks like it is M27 x 0.75. Going to try to acquire a Duty RDS cap and test that out.
  9. SRO is better. I would skip the shroud as it makes it harder to adjust brightness and bulky. RMR is also bottom battery which is a big negative for me.

Who knows. It might be a cost thing, but on the Duty RDS, the stock images show a plastic cap whereas the delivered units have a metal cap. If you examine closely on the second image you will see that the metal cap is borrowed from the Micro/Hunter (just without the laser engraving). I don't think it is anything to be concerned about. If you want the metal cap, it is cheap and readily available. You could even put the Knight's Armament Cap like on the Glock and have two batteries onboard.

It is confirmed the the P-2 takes Micro caps as seen here: I ordered Aimpoint's 12903 to see if it will fit.

My optic's Torx bolt did not have loctite applied from the factory but is a little oversized on the end. You can feel the pretension of the bolt before it starts clamping on the dovetail jaw. It feels solid on the mounts I have. I will report back from range testing in the near future whether it does loosen but I highly doubt it as these are marketed towards pistols. I also ordered the metal battery cap as a minor upgrade. The battery coin slot is 2mm wide and I don't have a screwdriver that fits it perfectly, but the metal one I do.
  14. If you do it would probably sell like hotcakes. If you want my old cad files pm me.

First impressions are great. Size is phenomenal. I can see why some friends in my circle are dumping their T-2 and RMRs for this. The walls of the optic kind of disappear once you peer through it. The phone capture on the last picture was hard to do, so it gives an illusion of a fuzzy dot but it is in fact very crisp. There is a very faint blue tint to my eyes and it is on par with the T-2. This tint is also confirmed with some users on arfcom.
  16. The M4 has it's own bespoke hammer spring. The M1, M3, M2, and relatives share the same spring. This is because the M4 bolt carrier sits further forward when locked. The other Inertia shotguns can take springs in both directions of power but the M4 can only take stiffer springs.
  17. I would rather have a new barrel. M4s are already kinda mismatched color (see blue m4s?). Actually your M4 looks really really blue. I don't get why they can't get things a uniform color. FNH and HK are super guilty of this
  18. Well I joined the Benelli family around 2013, and in my search for the infamous collapsible stock they were going for roughly 400$. Even from this ancient thread, the 225$ from Botach seems to be an oddity. Botach still has them out-of-stock listed for 225$ to this day. I do know these stocks can run for about 150€ in the EU.
  19. There's no official documents about parts and stuff for the public, so I am making this up as I go: The NZ M3 uses the plastic stock originally from the Supernova. It is also shared with the newest M3-A1, MR1, M4-A1, & GLX160. It is special because they reuse the M1014 grip. The tube you have posted should work with your M3. The back end should be threaded for M21 x 1 screw threads. As long as it doesn't say H&K on the side that's a good indicator it has the M21 screw threads. You would just need to use the M1014 grip. It is squared on the back to line up with the M3 receiver. You can look at stock shim kits to see the different shape. The curvy shim won't work with your gun; which also means the curvy the grip won't work. Some people bubba the grips on and they mismatch.
  20. Yeah. The factory is certainly not using every single stock for complete builds. There's always some stocks circulating in retail packages. You should just get a refund. I'm not a fortune teller - but I say there's a good chance CMC will cancel your order before you every get the stock.
  21. This is what I used: https://www.amazon.com/Testors-1104TT-Gloss-Enamel-Hobby/dp/B004O7AY3I/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=red+enamel+paint+hobby&qid=1647317096&sr=8-1
  22. My guess is manufacturing tolerances and the fact a roll pin isn’t exactly circular.
  23. Oh man, that’s a slug scope M3 with chokes! Those are incredibly rare in America; I’ve only seen one other american person have that barrel on their M3 ? unless you live elsewhere…. So you can go two ways with your M3 - either get the entire back end of the M1014 on it or use the M4-A1 / NZ M3 combo. The tube should be a high strength thread locker so concentrated heat needs to be applied for removal.
  24. Yup. Guns arrive stripped and you have to assemble it yourself. You probably got a demo model that was put together quickly. Wouldn’t bother me at all however. That mag tube is literally the most useless thing on the gun and 99% of people toss it. The barrel marks I understand is frustrating too, but after a few range trips it gonna get marked up.
  25. I'd focus less on weight savings. You can throw all these mathematical calculated numbers at me, but at the end of the day the differences aren't there. I just took off the mag cap from my M4 and couldn't notice a difference. I would totally pick one up just for the cool factor.
