Curious about the "gotta haves" for a folding stock.
StreetSweeper56 replied to Birdog19's topic in Benelli
I find benefit from the c-stocks ability to shorten the gun for storage, the M-4 is not a small gun and would not fit in the case I use without it. I am eagerly awaiting the rx-arms 6 position recoil tube. I can shoot mine presently from either the middle or third notch but neither feel quite right. I'm confident the extra positions will rectify that. -
Welcome from Texas! ππ€ Looks like you got a nice piece there pard!

It hasn't damaged any shotgun barrel I've ever used that in. Barrels are tough and they're smooth bore, it would jack up rifling though. It's the same method you use to polish the inside of the mag tube and they're not barrel steel. I've had buildup that, no matter what I did, would not come out and that got it out. The brush is bronze, much softer than steel. That little bit of buildup isn't going to affect the shot anyway though.

Get a cleaning rod that you can mount to a power hand drill. Here is one from Brownells although others make them or you can make your own. https://www.brownells.com/gun-cleaning-chemicals/cleaning-rods-amp-accessories/cleaning-rods/drill-chuckable-shotgun-cleaning-rod-prod20413.aspx

We're all human Dave. Glad you found your problem and happy to help; load 'em up my friend!

Sounds like you have a limiter in your tube.

Looks totally legit. π

Same problem as last time, error message when trying to read posts.

I have 2 of these GG&G bolt releases and have never had a problem so I am with SD in guessing the spring wasn't seated properly on installation. I used a pair of hemostats to hold it in place as it was difficult with normal size fingers; worked like a charm.

There was a thread on this last year, Fetter will fit 7 but they're from Russia and I have not seen any for sale in quite a while. Fortunately, for me, I bought a boatload at the time. Even with 6 in the tube, 1 ghost load, 1 chambered and 5-7 on a side saddle that's a pretty hefty load out on board. I suggest a "match saver" as well. https://forums.benelliusa.com/topic/24945-fetter-00-buck/#comment-164436

I've been following your thread, you replaced the OEM trigger to make it 922r compliant. Was there something else replaced that took it out of compliance? Maybe I missed it; I have 2 M4's and have never felt the need to replace the triggers as they work fine.

Well, we'd like to know the model too. A pic would sure help otherwise I'd just be guessing.

Looks great!

That's a Panavise 381 vacuum base vise or its equivalent.

You're right, I mis-spoke, it's 5.5 mm. I should have proofread my post.

One of mine was off as well. You can adjust it with a small, specialized 3.5 mm wrench (available on amazon) but the threads are easily stripped on the OEM. I replaced it with a post from Blitzkrieg components. https://www.blitzkriegcomponents.com/benelli-shotgun-sight-posts.html The threads are not so delicate on the replacement.

Sounds like you've got a good one, I've read mixed reactions to them. I personally do not have a clone, I just thought it was an interesting question he was posing and really didn't know the answer to.

There is someone on shotgun world forum asking if shooting 3" magnums through his Panzer Arms M4 clone will help break it in. Will it help break it in or just break it?

Have you tried direct from Wolff springs? That's where I get mine, I've ordered a few times from them. Not all shot shells are the same length, depending on what you're trying to load you may only get 6 in the magazine, that's not uncommon. Still, 6 in the mag, 1 in the chamber and 1 ghost loaded is pretty formidable.

[Question] Mag tube extension vs full 7 mag tube?
StreetSweeper56 replied to JohnWichReeves's topic in Benelli
I don't know of any downsides to a 2 round extension vs a 7 round tube as long as you replace the 5 round spring. Be aware that shot shells vary in length between manufacturers so you may only be able to load 6. Fetter's are shorter and will load 7 but they're from Russia, I haven't seen them for sale for months. -
Right, but it won't "fade". Again, I'd keep it just like that, I like rare stuff. I'm doing like 4 things at once so let me clarify. Bluing will patina after decades. I suppose anodizing would change color if you left it in the sun for a long time, exactly what color it would change to, I have no idea. But I don't think, being stored out of the sun it will change color.
