Amsdorf Posted September 16, 2012 Author Posted September 16, 2012 Even a thin rubber washer might fix it. The rubber might supply enough bite between the stock and the fastener that it won't back out during the shock of recoil. I'm not sure what the mounting surface looks like inside the Mesa Stock. I never disassembled it when I handled it. I might give that a try, thanks. Quote
jaegerbataillon511 Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) The collapsible stock has a distinct look. I like to be able to collapse it fully when I have it cinched to my hike pack.Amsdorf you see? Look at mine and love it:) These pics will be available just for a moment. looks prefect that way, well maybe shorten the barrel to 12 or 14". is there a scabor(spelling?) to fit in on a back pack or you just rig up your own? I would like a back pack that could hold mine Quote
StrangerDanger Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Like this? This is a concept creation I've been working on. Barrel chopped to 12.5". Quote

You can fold up and zip in the weaponcarry hose when not in use. It fits most longarms. http://www.outnorth.de/de/norrona/recon-synkroflex-pack This is a much larger military backpack with two big unzip able sidepockets, where you can stuff in your longarm with muzzle up and buttstock in a small pocket. jaegerbataillon511 Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Ok, but this norrona recon backpack has adjustable harness and can also be adjusted in length by its aluminium frame. I have this backpack as well, and I can carry a tent, sleeping bag, food, stove, fuel, clothing and more with my Benelli in it. A scabbard will only carry a weapon. Quote
StrangerDanger Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Think of the light as a stand off device. Or you could go with a M300 and it would be flush. A new Magpul 1 point sling would be a better choice though. The standard 14" would work well too. Quote
Amsdorf Posted September 17, 2012 Author Posted September 17, 2012 How does that work with the light extending past the barrel? And, dumb question, but...what is the advantage of a short barrel like that? Quote

Sukhoi_fan Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Short barrel shotguns are best suited for those who have at least some degree of fire control discipline since the magazine only holds four(?) rounds. Quote

But for us normal guys. It is just cool factor only. we are not blowing hinges off doors or clearing room with a team. But we can def be cool at the range, lol hate to admit it but thats me I just like cool stuff. Quote

If that is not you sorry. If it is what sling do you feel is most comfy on long hikes? Quote
StrangerDanger Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Lower weight. Faster target acquisition. Much more effective in tight areas. Better weapon retention. More effective for breaching operations. I use a 2 point sling. I have a padded VCAS sling. A 2 point sling swings a lot less. I find most 1 point slings swing like a pendulum of pain and rack your knees. They're great if you have hands on the weapon. Once you let go of it, and push it behind your pistol or drop it down your off side, it just swings wildly. I do want to try one of the Magpul MS3 slings so I can have the best of both worlds. Quote
Amsdorf Posted September 18, 2012 Author Posted September 18, 2012 Thanks, appreciate the information. I'm still trying to decide on what sling I want to use on my M4. I'll have to check out the Magpul MS3. Quote

Huff64 Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 (edited) I really like the Specter 3-point sling myself. http://www.spectergear.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=292 Edited September 19, 2012 by Huff64 Quote
