gowest Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 I'd like to hear from anyone who can compare the recoil of the SBE and the SBE II. Does the new system make a noticeable difference? Quote
Team Benelli Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Well the recoil itself im am not so for sure about but the new gel butt pad deffinatley takes some away. Quote
coltchris Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 I don't see a noticeable difference shooting 3 1/2" steel; although target aquisition seems faster. I'm sure there is some measureable difference, but 3 1/2" nail the **** out of you with ANY shotgun!!! Quote
tucker301 Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 gowest, The ComforTech system reduces felt or perceived recoil substantially. The guns tends to give more a push than a sharp snap. I shot 3.5's almost exclusively this duck/goose season with mine, and I had no problems at all with recoil. The ducks and geese in my freezer beg to differ Pay no attention to crazyhair. He/She is angry because no one will tell him/her whether the Benellis kick more or less than his/her daddy's old shotguns. [ 03-07-2005, 07:10 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ] Quote
tank Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 My son shot my sbe and his sbe 2 with 3.5 he said he couldn't tell much difference. I've been pushed with my 54 caliber muzzle loader, pushed with 458 mag, 45-70 in a #3 Ruger and more. I don't like being pushed around, it hurts tank Quote

EFLOYD Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 What's wrong with that now and then??....especially on special occasions!! Quote
Mark T Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Couldn`t tell any noticeable difference between the two , shooting the 3-1/2 turkey loads !! Quote
gowest Posted March 8, 2005 Author Posted March 8, 2005 Then let me ask you this; can the new gelpad be installed on the regular sbe? Quote
tucker301 Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 gowest, No. At least not without modification. The SBEII gelpad snaps on, fitting itno a groove in the inside of the stock. No screws. The SBE attaches with two screws. Quote
Golden Bear Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 The softest regular recoil pad out there is a Trap Dude (http://www.trapdude.com) and comes in 2 thicknesses 1" & 3/4". -- GB Quote
