  1. ive had my M4 11707 for 14 years now and while hunting coyotes in early winter the safety became nearly impossible to engage/disengage. i ordered a Taran Tactical replacement. When i went to change it, the factory safety was stuck in place and wouldnt come out. i called Benelli, got an RMA and they received the trigger pack on 29 Dec. I got a brand new, aluminum replacement on Saturday. (original was also aluminum). I know Benelli stands behind their products but i wasnt sure how this would go considering ive had the gun so long. Kudos to them for treating me right. Below is the email i received concerning the issue. Joannie Chesser [email protected] To Tom Sizemore Here are the notes from the gunsmith that will also be included with the return. Very rare malfunction. The tip of the safety plunger broke off in the guard and became lodged and dug into the guard permanently damaging the guard. Replaced the trigger assembly with a metal guard . F/C ok. 3. I bought the same one and love it after I seen one of your previous post talking about it. It is very secure and has a positive "snap" when pushed in so detent locks in.

  4. Seek some professional training. Some training is boring and may be below your personal skill level. It’s ok to go thru the basics. Instilling safety habits early is paramount. I’m a certified pistol instructor, and you’d be amazed at how many safety mistakes I see during a class. Endless amounts of sweeping people with muzzles. Sweeping themselves. Loaded or unloaded, it’s frowned upon. You want to build a mindset that prevents you from ever sweeping anyone unless you intend to points gun at them. With training, you’ll feel a physical reaction to intentionally pointing a firearm at someone. You’ll find you keep your finger off the trigger or spray bottles and electric drill guns. I hate teaching big classes. Which to me is anything over 5 people at a time. I like a hands on approach where we fire 1-3 rounds, approach the target and assess what they’re doing. Attempt to correct what is wrong and try again. Blue tape over the holes so we don’t get lost on the next set. I agree most of the YouTube channels are full of crap. They may pay lip service to safety and training regiments, but it isn’t the primary focus. Their focus is to tell you to like and subscribe several times to their entertainment based channel.

  5. Disassemble the magazine tube and clean out all the debris and lubricants from the tube, followed and spring. Everything should be dry with no lubricant. The lubricant attracts fowling and buffer media which robs the spring of energy as its trying to do its job. If it can’t get that shell onto the elevator fast, you will experience failures. Pull your trigger pack out and cycle the bolt with the gun upside down so you can see inside the bottom of the action. Without the trigger pack allows the action to move much more freely without the hammer and breech latch making contact with the bolt. This will allow you to get a feel for how the action is performing. If it is hanging up anywhere. If it binds during the stroke. How much tension your spring is providing. How the inertia spring as the bolt head unlocks from the barrel. You mentioned disassembling and cleaning out the receiver extension. That was a good move. Be sure to use a light lubricant that is rated for cold weather in there. Regular lubricants thicken in cold weather and can make the action sluggish.

  6. This will sound like sacrilege; but I like the new TTI bolt handle better than the Carriercomp one I had. It’s cheap and doesn’t have knurling that can chew up you hand if you’re moving fast. It’s easy to get. I like how the TTI one now locks into place and doesn’t rotate, it’s actually difficult to remove from the bolt. The serrations are biased on certain sides to only provide traction where it’s beneficial. Since the handle is fixed in orientation, it always remains the same.

  7. Your recoil spring is wore beyond tolerance, you could replace it with a OEM Benelli spring, however with a M2 I always prefer with exception of a 20 gauge like replacing these with a Wolff OEM Power spring which you should be able to purchase from Midway USA or from a reseller on EBAY. If you sense your magazine spring is getting softer replace this as well, typically this not needed. If you can not source parts or need any additional information please PM me, more than happy to help.

  8. Congratulations on your first gun purchase! You’ve chosen a fine shotgun. That’s a lot of gun for a first firearm. The manual indicates a more complete assembly/disassembly. The modified loading area is not necessary. It’s more for competition shooters. Properly clean and lubricate before shooting for best results. Breaking in your gun is best achieved with heavier load ammunition such as Federal 00 buck, slugs or high brass shells. Welcome to the forum! There is a lot of expertise so read plenty. I’m constantly learning from forum members.

  9. This is my favorite setup for a right handed user. Note the connector on the stock is on the ejection port side. Rear Sling Mount: https://www.impactweaponscomponents.com/product/qd-rotation-limited-buttstock-sling-mount-n-slot/ Front Sling Mount: https://www.impactweaponscomponents.com/product/multi-light-benelli-m4-mount-scout/ Sling: https://www.blueforcegear.com/slings/custom-sling-builders Since the Ava Tactical weapon Light mount isn't available anymore as shown in the picture, I'd recommend using the IWC light/sling mount. It will work just as well. I like the BlueForceGear padded QD sling with sewn in connectors. They have lots of color options to pick from. I recommend mounting the rear connector on the ejection port side if you're right handed. Having the sling loop to the outside will help control roll. It'll keep the sling from bunching up when shouldering the shotgun. Having the connector on the inside would poke me when I'd have the shotgun slung on my back. Previously I would have issues where the sling would prevent me from getting the stock in to the pocket of my shoulder. With it wrapped to the outside, this isn't an issue anymore. I started slinging my rifles the same way now.
