  1. Thought it would be a good idea to add a defensive shotgun though I have zero experience with one. I've admired the Benelli M4 since it came out and since I don't see myself needing more than one shotgun in that role I decided to "buy once, cry once" and just get what I wanted. So I have one inbound and joined this forum to gain some knowledge. What I have learned so far is that with all these cool (and usually expensive) upgrades for the M4 there will probably be more buying and crying! Lol

  2. GGG extended bolt release works excellent… I am really happy with it. just got notified it’s in stock IWC sling and light mount. a light… that’s on you it’s a rabbit hole. TTI charging handle is nice and only 40 something surprisingly… TTI extended carrier I am happy with. 7 round tube when you’re ready i’m looking at a briley trigger, but I haven’t….pulled the trigger on that purchase yet. Would complete the 922R… i have two so I have done this all twice…. ?? I have spent a lot of money on shit that didn’t work out so I just thought I would share a few that I really like.

  3. Omaha is good to go. Botach is pretty bad (unless you have an LE account)

  4. Great choice for a first defensive shotgun! You will be pleased. Take the time to become familiar with it and enjoy shooting it. It is far too easy to buy all the cool stuff you see and find out later that some of it doesn't really work for you. I agree with StreetSweeper56 and his suggestion that you consider a sling and light, especially for home defense. Read up on what's available and take your time making selections. Just ask questions. We are all here to help! ?

  5. Besides just plain shooting it, researching and modding this platform was is the best part for me. I'd get started sooner than later- some parts aren't as easy to get now as they were before the world ended. There's tons of valuable info here if you search for it and a copy of benelliwerks manual is a must have IMO. Welcome to the club !

  6. Congrats on your purchase, you've made a wise choice that will serve you well for many years. As a defensive gun a sling and a light would be where I would start. Keeping a shotgun fed is fundamental so you might consider adding a side saddle. Velcro shot shell cards are inexpensive and easily replaceable on your gun; just some things to consider. Enjoy your new scattergun and welcome to the club!

  7. This is true. I've kindof got my "standard modifications" for M4's at this point, lol!

  8. I found a video that I thinks explains what Benelli is meaning by indirect loading. It's really a great tip and works great after practicing the thumb index. I did make the funnel in the trigger guard on my M2. It makes sliding the thumb along the CDL much easier.

  9. I'm not the most knowledgeable person to respond to this but I'll give it a try and make a suggestion. The M4 has an interesting and sometimes confusing "manual of arms", at least to me, a non shotgun type person. It is saying indirect because you are loading the magazine and then letting the shotgun action load the chamber. A direct load would be to pull the bolt back and drop a shell in through the ejection port, let the bolt go and the shell goes directly into the chamber. You have to know about the cartridge drop because if the trigger has not been pulled and the shotgun has been cocked, you can rack the bolt all day long and it won't load a shell unless you hit that cartridge drop. This can be very handy for switching out slugs and buckshot. So a suggestion would be to buy 4, or 5 or more Dummy shotgun shells and play around with them. Will help with your next task which is to learn Ghost Loading, it comes after the indirect loading lesson! ?

  10. I recently installed the Taran Tactical Accuguide Extended Carrier on my M4. The main reason was my damn thumb kept getting caught up in the factory carrier. My thumb is the perfect size apparently, if I'm shoving in two shells and holding my thumb on the rear of the second shell then it fits perfectly behind the little cutout in the factory carrier and as it starts to drop back down it jams my thumb in there pretty good. Plus I generally wear Mechanix Gloves or Magpul Gloves when I shoot and the Mechanix Gloves have a little bit of excess fabric on the thumb and they also kept getting stuck in the factory Carrier. So there wasn't any particular reason other than annoyance that resulted in me swapping the factory carrier. That said the TTI installed in under 5 minutes and has been 100% reliable in feeding and function and has fixed the most annoying feature on my M4. So in my book it was worth the price point, plus it was 20 bucks less than the FFT version and arrived highly polished. I don't see any reason to spend the extra on the FFT version. https://tarantacticalinnovations.com/tti-benelli-accuguide-extended-carrier/

  13. How many full rotations did you do? Usually it only takes about 4 - 5 complete rotations to remove.

  14. Great News For those looking for quality 922r complaint trigger parts. I have some 922r compliant Benelli trigger parts being made. Coming Soon! Hammers, trigger, disconnectors and followers. These have been Chemistry tested for metal type and hardness. Also being made is the larger bolt release button.
