I won’t lie, factory polymer is tough as hell. M4 crowd Likes titanium… Metals prices have skyrocketed.. I am still debating if I want to peruse this, but I am getting a lot of interest. If i go thru with it I will be posting here.2 points

First impressions are great. Size is phenomenal. I can see why some friends in my circle are dumping their T-2 and RMRs for this. The walls of the optic kind of disappear once you peer through it. The phone capture on the last picture was hard to do, so it gives an illusion of a fuzzy dot but it is in fact very crisp. There is a very faint blue tint to my eyes and it is on par with the T-2. This tint is also confirmed with some users on arfcom.2 points

WTS: Benelli M1014 M4 w/flag. Good shape, some marks from use and the safe. Includes: - Carrier comp titanium tube w/finish that matches the gun - Factory 3 position stock tube, installed by Stangerdanger (so you know it was done right!) - Freedom Fighter Tactical hammer/dis-connector, lots of the factory trigger group parts were coated in NP3, all work done by Strangerdanger - Factory 5 round mag tube with unknown make +2/spring included - Copy of USMC M1014 field manual Only looking to sell FTF in Nashville. I'm stationed in Germany and home for a few days to visit family, if this doesn't sell, back in the safe it goes. No trades at this time. I'm not desperate to sell and NOT interested in parting the gun out or selling anything separately. $2300, please send an email if you have questions, thanks!1 point

Whenever I have a problem with my M4 it is because it is too dry. Lube the bolt carrier rails and it will function as good as new in my experience.1 point

Brakes increase backpressure on a system and will often enhance cycling velocity. In broad strokes/as a rule.1 point

I've got a couple of the old HK import M3T top folders, as well as a couple M4's. Though I love my M3's and the added capability of the semi/pump design which is like the SPAS-12 only much better, I think the gas operated M4 makes for a better SBS. Just my opinion, others might disagree. And, I say that as a guy who things that inertia shotguns ARE Benelli shotguns.1 point

My optic's Torx bolt did not have loctite applied from the factory but is a little oversized on the end. You can feel the pretension of the bolt before it starts clamping on the dovetail jaw. It feels solid on the mounts I have. I will report back from range testing in the near future whether it does loosen but I highly doubt it as these are marketed towards pistols. I also ordered the metal battery cap as a minor upgrade. The battery coin slot is 2mm wide and I don't have a screwdriver that fits it perfectly, but the metal one I do.1 point

I’m still interested. I don’t think the m4 community is as beholden to Titanium per se, rather that they prefer exotic materials. Most aftermarket stuff is 6000 series junk. Lithium AL and 7000 series is a totally different ball park. Obviously, ti works better in a tube, but imho quality billet makes more sense for chunky parts like a cap or mag button, trigger housing, etc.. I think you’d have better uptake on a ~$75 aluminum cap than a $100+ ti item. Only issue could be bimetallic corrosion on ti tubes, which would be a further selling point on your 4130 tube. not sharp shooting you here, just a different perspective. I have extensive materials experience, but little manufacturing experience.1 point

Ultimately, one must look at fact: OP Purchased a Benelli M4. A Benelli M4 is described on Benelli's website as having a "Phosphate finished barrel" or a "Cerakote finished barrel", depending on the model purchased. OP's Benelli does not, indeed, have this, at present, even though OP was not consulted or informed of this fact, even though OP purchased a model which OP understood to have a phosphate finished barrel. OP did not receive what OP paid for.1 point

The M4 has it's own bespoke hammer spring. The M1, M3, M2, and relatives share the same spring. This is because the M4 bolt carrier sits further forward when locked. The other Inertia shotguns can take springs in both directions of power but the M4 can only take stiffer springs.1 point

I would rather have a new barrel. M4s are already kinda mismatched color (see blue m4s?). Actually your M4 looks really really blue. I don't get why they can't get things a uniform color. FNH and HK are super guilty of this1 point

This is an M1014 barrel and has a FIXED MOD choke. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/1439820 This is a commercial barrel with interchangeable chokes. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/982970 If you are truly unhappy, you could simply come out of pocket and buy one of these, or you could ask Benelli to do it for you, or some voucher/reimbursement or some such maybe. That said, FUNCTIONALLY, your barrel is just fine, but aesthetically and so forth, I'd be frustrated like you seem to be.1 point

alumahyde is good stuff, but personally i wouldn't be happy they blasted off the parkerized finish and just spray painted it1 point

I'd consider an aluminum one over titanium for weight savings. I'd also look into making have an embedded hardened steel ring around the base so the detent didn't chew it up the ratcheting teeth. The parts could be threaded together and bound together permanently.1 point

I do them fairly frequently for forum members.1 point

Someone has to help fund Taran’s future paternity suits! I personally don’t care for knurling on a bolt handle. It cuts up my hands when I’m going fast and I have pretty rough hands. If I’m doing my job right, I rarely ever touch the bolt handle. You want to avoid running dry. If you’ve fired a round or more, start reloading ASAP. Once you’ve locked the bolt back, it takes quite a bit of motor skills to get back in the game. This is even more important if you’re using a entry length with reduced capacity.1 point
