  1. I use a Rhino .660 with Winchester Xtended Range 5s or 6s. I also have a Kick's .655 that patterns Winchester HV 5s really well as a back up. Many have been reporting great results with Primos chokes and Winchester XRs in their Benellis. I had an Undertaker choke expand inside my gun and almost ruin my barrel after 20 shots. The biggest shell I fired through it was a 3 1/2" copper plated 4. Probably an isolated incident, but pissed me off nonetheless.
  2. I get really good patterns with #4 buck and Hevi-Shot Dead Coyote T with my Rhino .660 choke. I don't know if 00 buck would pattern as well through this tight of a choke since I haven't tried.
  3. Kicked in the head by a mule or struck by lightning?

    243 vs. 270

Seriously? I've been hearing really good things about them lately. How would you rank them against a Sako?
  5. The details are still trickling in, but they were both living in the house together which was rented. It is a fairly rural area, not really a city, not really in the sticks. My emotions are running too high to comment on anything else or say anything other than thank you.
  6. Dan was a good friend. He never touched drugs, never had a brush with the law, never hurt a single person, and never owned a gun. Words just can't describe how shocking this is, but anyone who knew him is not suprised he went down fighting. We'll miss you [ 05-27-2006, 06:17 PM: Message edited by: 69beers ]
  7. What area of the national forest did you hunt?
  8. Anyone ever hunted them there Black Hills in SD for turkey? I'm thinking about a turkey hunting/trout fishing expedition next spring. A reputable outfitter on the net offers maps with a bunch of "guaranteed to see turkeys" spots marked off and a few other things for $250. I was wondering is it was worth it, since I've never been there before and will be driving 17 hours, or are there so many birds you can crawl out of your tent and pull the trigger? I can't really see it being a loss either way. Plus I might get to swing through Deadwood and drop $7 at the Gem

    SBE 1 Slug forend

I got my hands on a spare and had it modified. It consisted of having less than a millimeter shaved off the inside to fit over the larger barrel. You can use a modified forend with a field barrel if you don't mind it being a little sloppy.

  11. Congratulations on setting the new NWTF Typical World Record with a score of 105! The spur length alone beat the longest by 1/4".
  12. Does the Elmer's cause any type of noticable fowling? I'm assuming you use very little, perhaps just enough to seal and that's it. I experienced my first mag tube jam this weekend with the Win XRs. Luckily it was while unloading before getting in my truck after seeing and/or hearing only four hens the entire weekend (not mudhens thank god)
  13. Yeah, no kidding. I think they cut up old Firestone tires to make those pads! So far I've only been able to find a slip on Limbsaver, but maybe they'll make one to fit in the future. Taking one shot at a time isn't bad, but patterning different 3 1/2" mags leaves a mark.
  14. Happy birthday kid.....hopefully I'll kill two birds that day at Ft Campbell for ya, and then two more the next day!
  15. Can you shoot out of your window?
  16. So much for "Hey kid, you'll shoot your eye out!" Not to be a naysayer, but did anybody notice what remarkable shape the plastic frame surrounding the TV screen was in? They must be using Rhino chokes!!! Also, my knowledge of electronics is limited, but what would cause components (with the exception of large capacitorswhich are charged) to explode and ignite when sitting in the middle of a field, not plugged in, and not struck by lightning??

    Slugs

I get 2 1/2" groups at 50 yards with Brenneke 2 3/4" 1oz, which isn't bad for a smooth bore. The new Federal TruBall foster slugs are supposed to be really accurate for smooth bores as well.
  18. I gagged on them and drooled all over myself for three years before it just clicked one day, which was last week! I had the same problem too. What helps is keeping the call in your mouth throughout the day like when you drive or watch TV. Maybe try one with a hard plastic dome. That seemed to not irritate as much.

    Grizzly man

That's not funny. Stupid or not, I'm really sorry for the poor guy. Awful picture. Are you now? That guy wasn't killed by a bear. It was some junkie who overdosed in South Carolina (I think) and was munched on by the coyotes before they found him. The ADFG & USFS debunked that urban legend a while back. The picture supposedly went with the story of someone killing a 12' 6" foot brown bear (more like 10' 6") that ate some guy (dead junkie in another state). All that loser felt was the prick of a needle. http://mountainsurvival.com/news_articles/bearattack.html http://www.adn.com/front/story/3077881p-3101204c.html [ 03-06-2006, 04:31 PM: Message edited by: 69beers ]

    Grizzly man

Okay, you can have both legs but save me the breast.
  21. Got the 2" .660 for my SBE1. Absolutely awesome with Winchester Xtended Range 3 1/2" #5s & #6s and 3" #6s. Point of aim is right on with this choke. Killer pattern for Hevi-Shot Dead Coyote too.
  22. Just patterned my Rhino 2" .660 in my SBE1 with Win XR 3 1/2" #5s & #6s and 3" #6s. Same results, absolutely bad ***!!!! Within 20 yards he ain't gonna have no heead. It also patterns Hevi-Shot Dead Coyote Ts and 4 buckshot really well (better than .673) for predators. Has anyone shot the XR #4s? If so what choke?
  23. Okay, got you're points. I've deleted my posts here and reposted them on a political website having nothing to do with Italian guns. Sorry to interupt the flow of this fascinateing thread, please continue.
